New Adult Romance – A Sexy Contemporary Romance Novelette

In volume 1 - Sage Hendon has been working at a high-tech firm in Newport Beach, CA for over two years as the only female director among three men. She is highly valued by her boss and she loves her job, but there's a problem - she's totally attracted to him and the stress is killing her. She's taking three days off for the Christmas holiday and has posted her availability online, hoping to find a job when she returns. Before she can leave, she has to find her cell phone and she doesn't know where she left it.

Terrance is the founder and owner of Templeton Designs and considers Sage so valuable to the company, he can't afford to acknowledge the feelings he has for her. He's stuck at the company this year when normally he would be enjoying the holiday in a warm, tropical location. It may be the year he finds a way to acknowledge the woman who holds his heart captive.

This is the epilogue to Her Christmas Bonus.

Excerpt: Her eyes flew open as she reached for her purse. Finding her phone, she swiftly unlocked it and tapped Terrance to start the call. "Where are you?" she said. She could barely contain her breathing when she said, "Good, meet me in the bedroom as quickly as you can."

Her Christmas Bonus - Epilogue - Rain Danvers

Sitting in the bright living room of the large house overlooking the golf course, Sage felt alone. The house was beautiful, located in a gate guarded community, professionally decorated in sleek modern lines and muted tones that shouted nobody lives here. She pondered the last two months and the whirlwind that was her wedding. She was deeply in love with Terrance Templeton, had known him for over two years. Those years were spent working with him, knowing him as her boss, the owner of the company. She didn’t know his family, his friends, his personal preferences. That’s because they had never dated while she worked for him. Caught up in a romantic gesture after Christmas Day, she had agreed to marry him on her doorstep and off they flew to Hawaii.

Returning to Newport Beach and Templeton Designs as the new wife of the owner of the company had an immediate impact on her. Being the only woman director at the company had always been challenging. It was hard to avoid the backlash that inevitably came when you won a coveted project for your department or were allotted the largest budget. Men had a thing about that, as if a woman was incapable of earning the accolades honestly and without guile. Now she was the wife of the boss, she had been kindly shut out of the comraderies that existed between executives. She knew it would take time as those executives now considered she had a new debt to pay.

While in Hawaii, Terrance had suggested she move into his house and put her things in storage. He said they could decide later what items to sell and what to incorporate into the home they would buy. Neither of them wanted to stay in this house long, they wanted to start out fresh together. Until they found the right home, she was stuck living in a house with ghosts. Ghosts of a life Terrance had before she entered it as his wife.

So she sat, looking, feeling, thinking. He told her he didn’t have much of a life outside of business before they hooked up, other than the women who entered his life and just as quickly exited it. She imagined their essence in the house. Wondered if they had cooked dinner together, left on trips together, slept in his bed that was now hers.

Stop it Sage! He married you for a reason, don’t forget that.

Sliding down into the sofa with her head against the back, Sage realized she had made all this trouble for herself by getting married too quickly. They belonged together, they both agreed on that, but Terrance was more self-assured in the relationship. Not so much for her. Probably due to the years she had spent on her career, avoiding the dating scene, and protecting her heart. She just wasn’t the party-girl type. She had enjoyed going out with people from work and the one friend she had from college, but she’d rather read a
