Introduction and Guide to This Work

If you want to stop wasting time with educational drivel that does not matter and learn things that do matter beyond the test, read on.

At least once, you’ve probably asked a teacher the following questions: Why should I learn this? What is the practical application? Will this ever be useful? When students ask these questions, teachers are tasked with providing answers, sometimes with a hint of bitterness. Some say, Learn it for the test. Others decry state mandates. Some insist that All information is valuable, while still others claim it is good mental training. Reality gets lost in the discussion.

While a tiny minority of lazy, troublesome students ask this to get out of homework, far more ask the question out of genuine curiosity. People generally do not know WHY they are learning what they are learning. When people do not think or feel that the knowledge is worth learning, they are slow to learn, quick to forget, and never use it in a way that will better their lives.

Most people’s current way of educating—how school instructors teach, how bosses train employees, and how parents explain the world to their kids—leaves children with little to no understanding. A child's ability to discern or figure out what is good or bad and identify what is valuable or worthless is what truly matters. The same part of the brain that struggles to identify why math, science, art, or history matter will also struggle with belief in God, which individuals make good friends, which ones they must never date, and landing a promising career, among other life-altering decisions. Most cerebrums are woefully underdeveloped, and as a result, people’s lives suffer. The ramifications that we are currently suffering through or experiencing in our day-to-day lives are an avoidable tragedy.

Throughout human history, people have been taught many things, and over hundreds if not thousands of years, humans have progressed slowly and painfully to teaching the current curriculum. Subjects were studied not to waste time but to fill a child with knowledge that would turn them into a virtuous person who could take care of themselves and others. Sadly, numerous teachers today do not know these many things that were taught throughout history, and the few who do often lack the ability to explain them.

The purpose of this book is to clearly and concisely explain why certain subjects are relevant and significant. This is not a compilation of assignments but rather a set of critical ideas to contemplate. I highly recommend not reading this book in one sitting, especially if this is your first time reading it. Instead, read a section and think about the
