About this ebook

The life of Dadasaheb Phalke, the father of Indian cinema, has been full of struggles. He always strived to better the cinema and pursued it. He dedicated his entire life to cinema. Because of his contribution and dedication, the Government of India later announced the "Dadasaheb Phalke Award" for its significant contribution to cinema. Every year since 1969, the award has been given for a significant contribution to the field of cinema.

Dadasaheb laid such a strong foundation for cinema in India, which later made Indian cinema proud of the world. For this important contribution to cinema, Dadasaheb Phalke is called the "father of Indian cinema."

In his career of 29 years, Dadasaheb Phalke made a total of 95 films and 26 short films. The year 1937 was his last film. It was also his first and last speaking film, although the film failed.

In 1944, he died like an anonymous man, while by then his initiated caravan had gone ahead and, due to the film world, some personalities had earned their big name and money.

In the book presented, the same struggle saga of Dhundiraj Govind Phalke alias Dadas Saheb Phalke is served gradually like the beads of pearls. His passion for films laid the foundation of the Indian film industry and strengthened it. Today the Indian film enterprise is the largest in the world. Dadasaheb became the first brick in its foundation.
