About this ebook

The rules are about to change…

The rules are simple. Every few months, Violet Watson meets up with Colin Samuels and Mackenzie Scott, two pro football players whose skill on the field is only outdone by their expertise in the bedroom. The rules mean no promises. No limits on the creativity or the passion. And no questions. Violet is a strong professional woman, not some sports team groupie, and she keeps the wildness of her sex life with them carefully separate from her personal life. Only Colin Samuels and Mackenzie Scott want more. The sex between the three of them has always been blazing hot, but wanting love and commitment? That's breaking the rules. Rules that Violet set…and now rules she's torn over. Because it's clear Colin and Mac are looking for far more than wild sex, and keeping her in their lives is now their ultimate goal.

Colin dominates the field and the bedroom. Along with Mackenzie, his teammate and lover, Colin has everything he could ever want…almost. He has riches, fame, an island home, but he doesn't have Violet. She has always thrown up walls between their ménage and her personal life, keeping the two carefully separate to protect her career and her ability to live her life with no one to answer to. But if the three of them are to have anything deeper, Colin knows he must break through those walls. A sexy game with questions might be the only way to get the curvy and beautiful Violet to finally open up to them, not just physically, but emotionally, and let them deeper into her life. Mackenzie warns that they are taking a huge chance pushing for more, but Colin has never been one to shy away from risk. This might be their final chance to make her theirs forever…

    CHAPTER ONE

This is going to be a trip to the island you’ll never forget, Colin Samuels promised her. His voice was so rough and certain that Violet’s hand clamped down tighter on her cell phone. Her breath caught, and a sudden onslaught of arousal almost made her drop the sheer panel and lace bustier she’d been thinking about buying.

Is that a promise? Violet teased, glancing around the boutique. Her voice was a little breathy. Probably because her heart was in her throat. Colin didn’t make empty boasts. He did exactly what he said he was going to do.

She was eager to see them again. Times had been rough of late. Losing herself in smoking-hot sex with two gorgeous men sounded like something she could use right now.

You know it is, Vio, Colin continued. And because I’m so damn ready to kiss you again, I won’t even make you beg.

She gave a quiet, helpless whimper, imagining herself on her knees or over his lap, begging him for more, trying not to come, both her and Mac driven to new, desperate heights by Colin and their love games.

Her friend Amber glanced Violet’s way and raised her eyebrows in silent question, a smile lingering on her lips. Amber knew Violet was talking to her boys. And boys was not at all the right word. Colin Samuels and Mackenzie Scott were anything but boys. They played pro football. Colin played tight end, one of the few white guys in that position, and Mackenzie was on special teams. He was the holder. He caught the football from the long-snapper and placed it for the kicker. Mac always grinned and said, It might be the least sexy position on the team, but someone’s got to do it.

The three of them had been involved in a no-holds-barred game of sex and passion and…what? Pushing the limits? Yes. In every way. Two men who were willing to satisfy her every desire while fulfilling their own.

Only they played for the Ohio Storm. They had a condo in Columbus where they stayed during football season, and they shared a mansion on a North Carolina island for the offseason. Violet lived and worked in New York. She only saw them during these vacations where she escaped the high-stress landscape of corporate tax accounting for a world of uninhibited physical indulgence. But that was only for a handful of weeks a year…

At least it kept the anticipation high.

Where’s Mac? she managed to ask, trying to distract herself. She was desperate to keep herself from overheating. Even Colin’s deep voice turned her on. The memories of the things Colin and Mac did to her made her feel desperately horny. She wished there weren’t thousands of miles between them right now. A phone call in a lingerie boutique wasn’t the best time or place to be so turned on.

He’s in the sauna, recovering from our workout. It might be post season, but I’m keeping us on a strict training regimen. Don’t worry. It means we’ll have even more stamina when it counts. Colin’s deep chuckle sent another thrill of pure arousal shivering through her body. She even felt a little lightheaded. Sure, most of that was because she was feeling a little low blood sugary today, but that was definitely not all of it. I can’t wait to see you, Violet.

She bit her lip and couldn’t manage to say the words that sprang to mind. I can’t wait to see both of you, too. Those words were true. She’d been looking forward to this with all her heart and every nerve-ending and erogenous zone she had.

But…why couldn’t she say it? Was it because she was having this phone conversation in a lingerie boutique with her friend Amber nearby, both of them being stalked by a suspicious sales lady? Maybe. But it also went deeper than that.

Colin, I need to let you go, she managed to say. Her voice was shaky.

Can’t wait to make you feel like a queen, Colin told her. His tone resonated with the unstated promise of all the things he would do to drive her wild. See you soon.

See you, Colin. She quickly disconnected the call and put her phone away. She set the black and cherry-red bustier back on the display rack and wiped the back of her hand across her forehead. Was it hot in here or what? Sure, Colin and Mac could always raise her internal temperature, but speaking of saunas, the boutique was starting to feel like one.

Amber was meandering Violet’s way. She was probably curious about how Colin and Mac were doing. She’d seen them on TV, of course, but she’d never met them. Amber loved to say how she was living vicariously through Violet’s escapades with not one but two pro athletes.

Violet took a deep breath to steady herself and focus. Usually, she wouldn’t have taken a call from Colin in a store—not with how blazing-hot any conversation with Colin could become. But with their vacation only days away, she’d been afraid some complication had come up. Mostly, she’d been afraid that Colin had found out about her and Mac’s little plan.

Violet would be flying in early and would arrive at Colin and Mac’s island mansion before them. Mac wanted to surprise Colin because he knew it would both please Colin and drive him batty, provoking the man and raising the stakes even higher for their bedroom play. She might enjoy playing submissive in the bedroom, but that didn’t mean she didn’t enjoy yanking Colin’s dominant chain when she could. It was all part of the fun.

And it was fun with them. Maybe too much fun. Lately, she’d been thinking that she wanted all that fun and more…

Violet forced her attention back to the task at hand: finding the sexiest lingerie to wear for her vacation to Cormorant Reef Island in North Carolina. She wanted something that would have them both hard as steel, staring at her with pure lust in their eyes. That was going to be fun, too.

Unfortunately, she was having zero retail therapy luck today. For a curvy girl like her, lingerie shopping could be a challenge. Violet Watson might be on a mission to find something good…but her hopes were fading by the minute.

Amber moved to a nearby display rack. Find anything good?

Every year is like a fresh humiliation when I shop in the store, Violet said as she began sorting through the various size options on the rack again. Amber was providing the invaluable moral support given by a good friend when the clothes shopping wasn’t going well. I don’t even know why I do any lingerie shopping in person.

She was frustrated, but that wasn’t exactly true. She knew very well why she was here. Because of Colin and Mac. Anticipation crackled in gentle bursts around her body at the thought of finally being able to lose herself in uninhibited sex again. To feel the touch of someone, or in this case two someones, and feel complete, wanted, loved, adored.

    If only for a week…

It’s because you wait until the last minute, Amber scolded gently as she sorted through another rack. Plus, these boutiques really don’t understand there need to be even more sizes for curvy girls like us. She pulled a wispy sliver of silk off the rack and held it up by the hangar, a moue of disapproval on her lips. I mean…this wouldn’t even fit one leg. One. Leg. She placed it back on the rack with a sigh. Also, some of us aren’t exactly blessed up top like we are on the bottom.

Violet snorted. Look at this. She took a shirt off the hanger from the front of the rack and another top from the back. Size zero and size XXXL. Am I supposed to think XXXL will fit my size twenty-six frame? There’s too much guesswork. And don’t get me started on bra sizes. She glanced over at the far side of the store where the current holiday lingerie offerings were displayed. All red, pink, and purple with flashes of black lace, satin and silk and nothing else. No other colors, as if they didn’t exist.

"I know. And we’ve been here so long I feel like I’m obligated to buy something to justify the time we wasted."

I should’ve just shopped online. Sure, you lost the thrill of discovering something great and the tactile experience of the silks, satins, and fabrics, but at least you didn’t end up as disheartened as she felt right now. At least it’s not Valentine’s Day. She shuddered at the thought of being swarmed with ridiculous hearts and other expensive ephemera associated with that holiday.

You’ve hated that holiday for as long as I’ve known you, Amber teased. What? You don’t like people being in love?

I love people being in love. Who doesn’t? But all those pink hearts and cupids? Not my style.

She caught another glimpse of a store associate lingering nearby, watching them while pretending to tidy a display of massage oils.

We need to buy something before that woman who keeps milling around asks us again if we need any ‘help.’ Code for black women are taking too long and may actually be casing the joint. Violet snorted in disgust. As if we’d steal anything from this place.

She continued to browse, but her hopes were already rushing down the rainspout and heading toward the gutter. The sting of rejection by the fashion world overwhelmed her yet again. She shook her head, took in a deep breath, and steadied herself.

Her spirits had been high while talking with Colin, but they’d crashed afterward. She’d been feeling that way more often—that roller coaster unpredictability—ever since she’d lost her Uncle Lewis. Uncle Lewis wasn’t actually related to her, but he’d played a huge role in her life. His passing had devastated her parents—the three of them had been friends forever. Violet had thrown herself back into her work…but she’d been burning the candle at both ends. She needed this vacation, and she needed it to go right.

It didn’t help that she was beginning to feel a little nauseous. The inside of the boutique was filled with a perfume scent so strong that it was cloying. The longer she stayed here, the more the scent and the heat in the shop seemed to affect her.

Rather than leave empty-handed, she found a simple, blue plaid scarf and headed for the checkout. For what seemed like the hundredth time, the loud speakers played Vision of Love, and for some reason, the cloying perfume scent grew heavier.

She could feel the soft pulse of an oncoming headache at the base of her skull, and the slow leak of energy seeping out of her body made her feel a bit wobbly. She wasn’t sure not eating before this excursion had been a good idea. All she wanted to do now was devour a quick meal and get home to take a long nap.

Amber trailed behind her. Found something, she said, not sounding particularly thrilled.

Anything good? Violet had already guessed the answer from Amber’s tone.

Not really. A chocolate lip gloss set I can throw in my purse and forget about until the next time I clean it out.

Amber went to one checkout line and Violet to the other. The woman who waited on Violet gave her a strained, tired smile but didn’t look up from a smartphone on the counter.

Good evening, the sales clerk muttered, eyes still on the phone screen. Violet nodded and paid.

Do you need a bag? the woman asked, still not looking at her.

Please, Violet requested. She didn’t dare put the scarf in her purse without a bag, even with the receipt. She didn’t want that hovering saleswoman to accuse her of stealing the scarf on the way out. Sure, Violet could pull out the receipt and wave it around angrily in her defense, but the whole thing would still be humiliating and upsetting. Right now, she couldn’t deal with upsetting. She only wanted to escape from the overpowering perfume and be on her way.

Well, we got through that unscathed but without what we came for, Amber said with a disappointed smile as they left the store and headed into the mall. So, what are you going to do for your guys since we didn’t find anything good? Order online and use express shipping?

Maybe. It might be too late. Her frustration brought her mood down, making her really feel her low blood sugar. "I didn’t
