Discovery
Bolar, Kafri and Grace were busy in the woods. Each day they would gather timber and food supplies for their village, taking their loads below the hollow basin under the Great Oak tree entrance to their home, Torla, where they had lived for hundreds of years.
Once a mighty nation, the Leprecions, brothers and sisters of Lord Ravun, who they fought with, against the evil Balziba and his armies. Kathugra, the dark witch of Celtacia, had lost her only son, such was her grief, she turned the whole nation into insignificant creatures measuring no more than a third of a metre in height. Grace had heard the crying, her motherly instincts alerting her.
Quiet! Do you hear that?
It’s coming from over there,
Kafri pointing towards an oak tree.
To their shock and amazement, they discovered a child crying at the top of his voice.
My word!
Exclaimed Bolar. It’s an overlander, a human child.
Yes,
said Kafri, but what’s it doing here?
As they searched, they found the car with both KiKi’s parent’s inside. Grace began to cry, she was feeling sorry for the child, so young and to lose both parents was shocking.
What shall we do with it?
Said Kafri.
We must take it to the Elders, they will know,
said Bolar.
So, it was the Lepris, who tied the basket tightly and lowered it beneath the Great Oak, leading to their homes, beneath the hollow basin in the woods of Mourne. It was in the time of Ravun that the lands had been washed away by the storms and floods that went on for forty days. Some had said it was the work of the weather witches, the daughters of Kathugra. It was here that the Lepris built their homes under the Great Oak hollow, a vast wasteland that they turned into a land of green meadows with rivers and brooks and fields of
