Believers Nurture and Induction Manual
()
About this ebook
Have you ever wondered what was the source of inspiration or the daring Faith for the early Church Martyrs?
What made them endure persecutions to the point of death? Would the believers of today likewise withstand if confronted by similar circumstances? Can today’s believers indisputably declare “I know whom I believe” as Apostle Paul exclaimed? The response to these questions, among others that may be raised concerning today’s Christians, makes this manual very relevant in every Church that is desirous of bringing up True Disciples of Jesus, not prey to every wind of doctrine. This manual provides ‘spiritual bites’ to new believers that include the concept of sin, Salvation and its evidence, testifying and bearing witness, expected growth, temptations and trials, getting deeper in faith and Church (denomination) governing structure.
Rev. Githaiga Gathiira ministers with Christian Church International (CCI), in Murang’a, Kenya. He has an inclination in Christian Discipleship, teaching children about God and loving people. As a scholar and Church minister, Githaiga wears many hats as a Teacher, Pastor, Counsellor, Trainer, Mentor, Consultant, and researcher.

Dedication
To all teachers of the Word who commit to mentor new believers and make them True Disciples of Jesus Christ – Believers well-rooted in today’s Church.
The Forward
Rev. Dr. Githaiga Gathiira has been concerned and involved in nurturing and mentoring new believers, a Ministry inadvertently not given the attention it deserves. His involvement has challenged me, especially the sacrifice to allocate time for the new believers whose transition from what they were used to, to the new way of living, is not easy.
I have spent several years in the pastoral Ministry, which includes discipling new believers, and I have seen the need for a nurturing and induction manual tailored for a specific context (e.g. Church or denomination).
I, therefore, congratulate you the user, for picking up this manual, because you cannot slow down your involvement with the Great Commission found in Matthew 28:18-20. The stakes are just too high, and the risks too prevalent in our time. As mature believers and church leaders, now is the time for us to hone our skills and re-evaluate how we induct and nurture new believers in the church. This nurturing and induction manual will help us disciple new believers by giving and directing them to a solid foundation and a promising future in the Christian faith.

Endorsement
A much-needed believers nurture and induction manual! Rev. Dr. Githaiga Gathiira has smartly woven a thoughtful Christian systematic curriculum to help new believers understand their faith, authority, calling, and responsibilities as members of God’s Kingdom. This manual will help new believers go beyond their denial, guilt and defensiveness, and start living out their faith in Christ with knowledge and understanding. It is a guide to a new believer on the various aspects of the journey towards maturity in the faith. I highly recommend this manual.

Introduction
The significance and seriousness of nurturing new believers dawned on me one Saturday night in 1993 when I was in my first year at the university. To date, I have never understood whether it was a dream or a vision, but I will nevertheless give the account. As I was resting on my bed that fateful night, I witnessed a birth of a beautiful baby in an admirable home. Upon delivery, the mother and other family members were available to welcome and attend to the new-born baby. The child
