A Regent King

About this ebook
In the Medieval era, ignorance and religious fanaticism spread. It was not a special era at all, especially for women. Killing was easy and torture was easier.
The rich torments the poor and the strong torments the weak.
The king and the pope controlled the fortunes of the kingdom, and the feudal nobles controlled the common people.
Some kings would kill their relatives for fear of their greed for power.
Some have even killed their son or brother for the sake of the throne and securing it.
It was a mess.
Those ancient times in which rights were lost and those in power were able to control the fate of those who are not.
The problems of the Middle Ages still exist today.

Author's Introduction
This novel is fictional , inspired by the writer's imagination.
As for the time of the story, it is in an imaginary time in the Middle Ages where there weren’t allowed to have a queen only a king and by extension the Queen cannot be crown prince, so the king had to appoint a crown prince after him, whether it be his son, brothers or nephews.
Kings often loved hunting and wine.
The title of prince or princess was called the sons or daughters of the king or the crown princes who are not sons of the king. Ignorance and poverty spread, diseases and epidemics spread, killing was a lot.... What's like today!!!
Main characters
Gustav the King
A stubborn and rude character who is unpopular with the surrounding environment and does not trust those around him who are good at hunting, raises concerns about the succession of his reign, aspires to add value to his kingdom and has a constant belief that he can achieve better than his predecessors and gets used to making fun of everyone, he sees that he is better than all of them.
Prince Adrian, brother of the King
He was Dorian's father, and Julian, he was a bold prince until he was killed in a battle to defend the kingdom, but they didn't lose this battle, they won it despite the prince's death.
Irene.
The daughter of the great nobleman Philip, who lives in his province, who is the same age as Julian in the mid-20s, grew up a fighter and a knight who was between her and Dorian, who came close and promised to marry.
First Crown Prince Dorian
The king's nephew, whose father died in his teens, is now in his 30s, good at fighting and equestrian, but he doesn't care much about the kingdom.
He doesn't like parties very much because he sees that they lack fun and are more formal, but he likes fights, jockey competitions and jockeys' inaugurations.
Second Crown Prince Julian
Dorian's younger brother is smarter and more subtle than his brother, a master fighter, but not as a master of chess and games of intelligence, and closer than the king of the same age as Irene, but his mother died during his birth.
Minister Ivan
His relationship with the King is troubled and he is constantly opposed to the secrets of the king and the kingdom, he is in his seventh decade and he had a great feudalism that he left to his brothers because he never gave birth.
High Priest
One of the king's men owned a fortune as usual at these times, the Church taxed the general public, nobles and merchants.
Lord Dimitri
Some people disagreed in this man, some say he is charming, others say he is a doctor, but he certainly was.... He was a friend of Adrian, Dorian's father, and Julian fought together in several battles until Dimitri rebelled against the kingdom and refused to pay taxes on the grounds that he was defending the kingdom, and then he left as an immigrant to several countries.
Audrey
A witch doctor, a knight with a beautiful beauty and her perfume smells nice is nearly the age of Dorian, the daughter of Dimitri
The beginning
T
he Queen is about to give birth to a child that King Gustav wishes a boy, to be his heir, instead of his brother Adrien, who is two years younger than him, and has two sons, Dorian and Julian, respectively.
King Gustav sent Prince Adrian on a military campaign to defend the kingdom's borders against enemies, and the king could not participate in this campaign because he was waiting for this newborn.
Prince Adrian said goodbye to his two sons before he left and they both had a deep feeling that this meeting was different...perhaps the last.
Prince Dorian was nearly 20 years old at the time, and Julian was five years younger than him.
Prince Adrian prepared well for the battle and put on his distinctive uniform. He was loved among the soldiers for his prowess in fighting.
The prince wore shining silver armor riding his heavy black horse.
The two armies swarmed while Prince Adrian was in a hill slightly higher than the enemies.
The enemy pushed some of his infantry, but they were easy prey for archers, and those who managed to reach were run over by the knights with their horses.
Enemies became enraged and sent their knights straight away.
So, the prince pushed his knights to the attack, so the two armies joined together, the voices of the horses became louder, the soldiers shouted and blood scattered. Prince Adrian did not push all his knights into the battle. He took advantage of the enemy's progress to besiege them, as some teams swooped from the right and left of the enemy.
The kingdom's army was able to defeat the enemy's knights, but without Prince Adrian.
Prince Adrian fought fiercely, but he was treacherously stabbed. someone stabbed him, as some said that he was not from the enemy, and some said that he was from the enemy.
The matter remained confusing, and it never became clear to anyone.
Grief overshadowed the camp, despite the glory of victory and spoils.
Meanwhile, King Gustav is waiting for his baby until the doctor comes out to tell him that the baby is a girl...again!
