Nudinits - Sarah Simi
Christmas at Home with Bernard and Barbara
Bernard and Barbara live in the heart of Woolly Bush and love to entertain the vicar and all their neighbours at Christmas time.
IllustrationBernard and Barbara’s Bare Facts
Bernard started work on the factory floor of the Frayland Motor Company in 1966. As the new boy, his first job was inserting shafts but he soon rose through the company, finally becoming Head of Lubrication. When the company was bought out by Knitsubishi and moved its factory to Korea, Bernard took early retirement.
In her twenties, Barbara worked as a court stenographer. It was said she could take down a magistrate’s particulars quicker than anyone. After she moved to Woolly Bush, she started her own business selling Lenthénit perfume and cosmetics at parties and door to door. Always popular and in demand, no one turned down a squirt from Barbara.
Bernard and Barbara met at a friend’s wedding in 1974. Their eyes met over the buffet table when they both went for the same vol-au-vent. They married two years later when Barbara’s bottom drawer was full. They bought Dunittin’ Cottage a year later and have lived there ever since.

Decoration
Once you have made your wreath base, you can add whatever you fancy. Here we have used the balloon patterns to make a balloon wreath (just position and sew or pin into place), but you could use other patterns in this book to make a different design. Try decorating your wreath with gingerbread men and women, or fairies, or elves and candy canes – the choice is yours!
