The concept of vacation meant different things to different people – backpacking across Europe, yachting in the Hamptons, traveling cross country in an RV, or even a staycation. My dysfunctional, divorced family defined the term as a challenge to spend as little money as possible, crammed in the tightest quarters while enduring the most awkward arguments.
