About this ebook
I wrote some of my poetry while I was in high school.
I have compiled a great deal of my own family research however, I discovered my husband, Gene Fritz had more pioneer genealogy records from both sides of his family, than I did.
And now, from within our own family home events, these short stories proceed onward, into our senior citizen status of today also.

My Poems and Short Stories - Marilyn J Lease-Fritz
"WE’RE JUST US’
03.jpgMarilyn & Virgil (Gene) Fritz
We have been content living life, as an average couple, and very grateful, to have survived the many trials of good and bad times.
We thank God for blessing us, with four beautiful children, and eight darling grandchildren.
Perhaps, we haven’t done as well as most, but we have always cherished the same sincere treasures, as the Fritz’s before us, with our family Sunday dinners, and fishing, and holiday gatherings.
Hopefully, they will maintain some of our memories, as they take their turn into the new future ahead.
"MY MEMORABLE EVENT,
WITH GREENVILLE’S HISTORY"
04.jpgIn the year 2000 I belonged to the Greenville Bicentennial Committee, and Byron Brown sponsored the sale of 5 gold Bicentennial Coins. Mr. Byron Winfield Brown also attended the Wakefield #6 one room brick school. I bought them, along with entering my name for the drawing at the Bicentennial Day Ceremony. It was also the Water Street Cemetery recognition, in the town of Greenville.
Within some family research I learned my Great-Grand Father, Maximillium Louis Leis had purchased some property near the Fort Greene Ville area on Water Street many years ago.
To my surprise, I was the lucky winner of the framed print depicting The Signing of the Treaty of Greene Ville.
Within the walls of Fort Greene Ville, Anthony Wayne negotiated the famous Treaty of Greenville
and it was signed on August 3, 1795, which opened up the Northwest Territory for settlement. Near the center of the fort was Gen. Wayne’s headquarters, and there was housing for about 2000 soldiers. The fort covered about fifty acres.
The Treaty Signing Picture was known as, An Immortal Painting
by, Howard Chandler Christy.
Mr. Christy’s other paintings included "The Signing of the Constitution of the United States, which hangs in Washington, D.C.
The committee that went to New York and accepted the Christy Painting for Ohio was, E. C. Zepp, Dann O. Taber, Representative Guy D. Hawley, Greenville, and Senator Theodore M. Gray, Piqua.
Upon accepting the Christy Painting they said, that, within the name of the people of Ohio, we accept the Christy masterpiece depicting, The Signing of the Treaty of Greenville. It is most appropriate in these days of the peace conference that Mr. Christy has caught the spirit of Americans determined that war shall cease forever, and has perceived for prosperity, within this memorable Ohio event.
Mother was in the care center at this time, and while I was visiting her, I explained my event to her.
She replied, now Marilyn, you be sure and pick out a pretty dress to wear that day
as she shed a
