This is the third book in the trilogy and I probably made the mistake of not reading them one after the other. I had read the first two back to back, and they were quite complex, which meant that on reading this one I was having to delve into the memory banks to remember what had taken place previously. Having said that, it is a very good read, but it is it’s complexity that makes me reduce the number of stars that I have given it. There are important flashbacks to Carl Logan’s training and previous exploits, but these did get in the way a little bit. We did learn a great deal more about both him and Angela Grainger, who was involved in the kidnap of an important politician in the first book, and h er role could be confusing at times. The book moves on at great speed, from Russia to Kazakhstan and on to China, with some of the protagonists playing double and even triple roles before the story concludes.Well worth reading, but better if read after each other.
