Douglas Keeney is the author of numerous bestselling books on events that shaped American and world history including The Eleventh Hour, 15 Minutes and, most recently, The Lives They Saved: Medics, Mariners and the Boatlift That Saved 260,000 On 9.11. Keeney's books have been well reviewed by The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The New Yorker, Slate, Newsweek and numerous other publications. He has appeared on Fox TV, PBS, CBS, The Discovery Channel and other broadcast outlets and he works extensively with all of the branches of the U.S. military as both a researcher and an author. Keeney is the cofounder of The Military Channel (now American Heroes) and is a frequent keynote speaker. He has held his pilot license for 25 years, is an avid tennis player and a scuba diver. He is married to the journalist Jill Johnson Keeney, with whom they have two sons
