LANIAKEA describes a series of adventures filled with twists and turns. Love has to deal with violence and perfidy. Despite this, science and technology make it possible to build a balanced society where respect allows the acceptance of differences. All the old values based on money and power fade away to give place to self-respect, respect for others and respect for nature. The emancipation of the humankind then extends through the astral continent Laniakea, home to Earth.

BOOK 5 “The Organization” follows Ethan's fortune rise subsequent to the merger between the two financial investment companies. Ethan then sets out to create the Organization to Support the Least Developed Countries (OSLDC). The couple works together to develop a business case that covers all organization aspects.

This book describes their marvelous trip through Europe. Ethan rejoices in the renewed sense of youthful amazement that Kate displays as she discovers so much beauty. Kate indulges in an almost limitless sense of discovery during her time in Amsterdam's Red Light District. It is here that she joyfully discovers what Ethan means when he says: “making love”, “making tenderness” and “making sex”.

This romantic trip is briefly interrupted to include a few meetings with the leader of a South African country, soon to be the first recipient of assistance from the newly-created OSLDC.

LANIAKEA (immense heaven in Hawaiian) is composed of approximately 100,000 galaxies including the Milky Way, which contains our Solar System as well as the Earth. The red dot on the picture indicates the Milky Way.

LANIAKEA is a literary work protected by the Copyright Act of Canada © 2019.

The author textually depicts elements such as landscapes, clothing, and places. He also sought to take advantage of the tools available through technology. In some volumes, he has included WEB links that make it easy to view the images. Just select the text in a different colour and underlined.

Those images were typically taken from a number of different websites. However, in all cases, there is no indication that their use is prohibited.

Some of these images are more or less explicit, while still being respectful of beauty.

In Book 1, a severe car accident in Quebec’s Lower Town sparks a great romance between Kate and Ethan.

The couple seizes every moment granted to them by the Universe, as they slowly become enraptured and intoxicated by their sensuality. They also learn to master their own personal individuality, while nurturing and strengthening their bond.

Though infused with tenderness and respect, this paradise, still rather fragile and delicate, could suddenly come crashing down. And indeed during one fateful dinner, Kate informs Ethan that she is considering moving to Montreal and taking on a very important position. Seeing this great and singular love vanishing before his eyes, Ethan can barely bring himself to accept this parting.

In Book 2, Kate manages to persuade him at the very end to leave a door ajar to the possibilities that lie before him. An antagonistic and confrontational meeting takes place, but one which affords him great efficiency given the experience and status of those present.

During one of the couple’s final days together in the city of Quebec, they are forced to put up with a rather unpleasant individual who stirs up bitter memories for Ethan. He is then seized by a fierce and terrible anger.

Meanwhile in Montreal and with the support of his remarkable and distinguished ally, Ethan comes up with an intricate and rather complex plan, which he then sets into motion to acquire an American company. In the early stages of the valuation in New York, they fortuitously uncover that a number of fraudulent actions have taken place.

All the while, the couple is adjusting to their new life in a cocoon of pleasure and affection. Then one evening, as they are leaving a jazz bar, they are confronted with rape and murder.

In Book 3, we find our heroes enjoying their sojourn in the Virgin Islands, basking in pleasure as they celebrate Christmas and luxuriating in the feeling of the sun caressing their naked bodies.

Following their holiday, Ethan returns to the ongoing diligent analysis of the American company he wishes to acquire, when a vast number of fraudulent activities is revealed, forcing Ethan to implement quasi-Machiavellian schemes, for he is not one to admit defeat.

Like all couples, Kate and Ethan will experience some difficult moments which, in the end, will only strengthen their bond and love for one another.

This significant discovery of major fraud compels Ethan to take action; he calls upon several well-armed bodyguards, former military officers, two of whom have already saved his and Kate’s life in the past.

With safety ensured, Ethan can set his business strategy in motion and blackmail a number of key senior executives of the American company.

In Book 4, Ethan gathers together his bodyguards to create a corporation he calls The Guard. These guards start exerting their power to varying degrees both in the United States and in Canada.

Meanwhile, Ethan’s grandson’s illness prompts Kate to reveal what caused her deep-seated aversion to hospitals, and to overcome her phobia.

With all this pressure closing in on him, Ethan finds himself on the brink of a burnout. He needs time to recover and Kate is ever at his side, helping him get some rest during a trip to Nassau in the Bahamas. While on their private jet, Kate gives Ethan a document to read. It appears to be a legal document that effectively dissolves an important agreement between the two, allowing them to discuss business outside a work environment.

Ethan stands to make an unbelievable amount of money from this merger. He starts to think about creating a foundation so he can avoid paying hefty and – in his opinion - useless taxes.

The acquisition of the American company being accepted, Ethan leads a meeting that brings together, in New York, the project managers of the two companies. Ethan and Ryan, the future head of the Project Office, develop a general planning.

In New York, Ethan starts off the meeting:

Good afternoon and thank you for being here. We have two very busy days ahead of us. The purpose of this meeting is to become very familiar with everything surrounding the projects. Specifically, project management methodologies, project types, their success rates, efficiency, simply everything. I believe many of my coordinators already know a number of the directors here. Despite that, I would like for us to go around the table and introduce ourselves. I would like to start on my right. Ryan, you can start.

Ryan speaks:

Hi, I’m Ryan Labelle. I’m an accountant and I just changed jobs. I moved from accounting to the Projects Office.

Ethan speaks again:

I’ll add a little to what you said, Ryan. Right now, I run the Projects Office. I’ll be running it for one to two years. Ryan will be my right-hand man during this period. After that, he will be my replacement. So, you will see him taking up more and more space. Let’s continue with the round table.
