An ET Scientist on the Mission of Jesus: What was the purpose of Jesus?

"An ET Scientist on the Mission of Jesus" follows Prof. Hawkins and his ET scientist friend, Zeus, who previously examined the records of the life, death and resurrection of Jesus. They had concluded that Jesus probably did not die on the cross but fell into a coma and was mistakenly thought to be dead. After coming out of the coma after three days, Jesus was assumed to have experienced resurrection. Having determined that Jesus did not die on the cross to pay for men's sins, Hawkins and Zeus proceeded to examine the record of the activities about Jesus to determine his mission on Earth. Join them on their exploration of what might've actually happened to Jesus during his time on Earth.

Professor Henry Hawkins and Zeus completed a thorough evaluation of the New Testament scripture to determine the simplest explanation of the known facts surrounding the life, death and resurrection of Jesus. Several facts did not fit the biblical accounts.
(1) Jewish leaders did not need to ask the Romans to execute Jesus, they could have stoned him.
(2) the Romans did not need an excuse to kill Jesus, they could execute him for interfering with tax collections.
(3) Why would God require the death of an innocent man to pay for other men's sins?
(4) Jesus did not believe in capital punishment. He said, "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone."
(5) Why did the disciples of Jesus not immediately recognize Jesus after the resurrection? They knew him well and he would be restored to full heat by the divine recovery. But if Jesus recovered from a coma after three days with no food or water, he would indeed be hard to recognize.
(6) Why did Jesus not resume his ministry? He could have won many converts.

The answer is: Jesus never fully recovered. He spoke to his disciples but died from his injuries. Hawkins and Zeus turned to the scripture to determine what Jesus thought was his Mission of Earth.

Chapter 1: How Did Jesus See His Mission

Professor Henry Hawkins and his brilliant but irascible friend, Zeus, continued to discuss the paradoxical characteristics of Christian behavior. Zeus had always presented himself as a scientist from a distant planet, who was studying Earth cultures.  Although Henry and Zeus had communicated only during Henry’s dreams, they had become friends, of a sort, having never actually seen each other.

Zeus found it strange that Christians seemed to worship a God who spawned a son, Jesus, in a way that was reminiscent of ancient Greek mythology where Gods had affairs with Earth women. Jesus was then tortured to death so that he could become the savior of all humans to atone for their sins. The Jewish religion, into which Jesus was born a member, had no such view of God nor did other similar religions such as Islam. Indeed, Islam seems to accept Jesus as a prophet although not as great a prophet as Mohammed.

According to Christian scriptures as revealed in the

Biblical New Testament, Jesus was crucified by the Romans at the urging of Jewish leaders. Zeus finds that assertion to be strange for three reasons. First, the Jewish leaders could have executed Jesus by stoning without involving the Romans. Second, the Romans could execute Jesus for disrupting the money changers in the temple and interfering with Roman tax collection. Third, Zeus cannot understand why the Christian God would have such a requirement of capital punishment of an innocent man for the sins of other people. Jesus himself, opposed capital punishment saying, let he who is without sin cast the first stone.

Whatever the reason for the crucifixion of Jesus, he was taken off the cross when believed to be dead and buried in a tomb. After three days it was claimed by the followers of Jesus, that Jesus was resurrected from the dead and hailed as the Son of God and worshiped as the savior with divine status.

Zeus had insisted to Professor Hawkins that the story did not make sense. Zeus argued that Jesus may not have died on the cross but simply fallen into a coma and appeared to be dead. If Jesus revived from the coma after three days, it would appear to everyone that Jesus had come back from the dead.

The closest associates of Jesus were his disciples who had been with him for months or even years. The disciples all failed to recognize Jesus. According to Zeus, that is hard to believe. If Jesus was brought back to life by divine intervention then Jesus would be completely restored to good health with the exception of a few scars. However, if Jesus awoke from a coma after three days with no food or water then Jesus would be in very bad shape and hard to recognize even by close friends and relatives.
