The Essentials
Air-dry clay. There are several types of air-dry clay on the market. We’ll paint most of our projects, so white clay is the best material for us. The quality of the clay is crucial to avoid cracks, a porous structure, and friability. Of the brands available on the market, I recommend DAS or Crayola air-dry clay.
Kitchen scale. The amount of clay needed for each project is determined by its weight and listed at the beginning of each project. I intentionally listed slightly more clay than is required so you have plenty to work with. At first, you might need to use a scale to weigh your clay, but soon you’ll be able to estimate how much a piece of clay weighs based on its
