Amy's Interview - JR Jones
Chapter One
37672.pngAmy called her BFF, I have dreadfuly news Donella!
As she plopped on her bed as dramatic as if she had been shot in her stomach. I am alone in this cold cruel world, my mom has set me up to be kidnapped by a band of gypies on the Mississippi River. We sail at sunrise on the third day, we are doomed, my clueless dad will run over a sandbar making us helpless. That is when they will come to take me away to train me to be a prostitutte. Life is so cruel Donella, oh what will I do my friend?
Donella was laughing so hard she fell off her bed, when her head popped up to find the phone she said. Oh Amy, your mom is a cold hearted witch who cannot wait to live her life without you accusing her of mischief and mayhem. What will you do, what a brave soul to sail off with your dad to certain doom.
Amy felt she was alone as she wrote in her diary.
Amy loves to escape into books and read about science; she is a nerd about it. She learned that space is dusty, stars go nova, they grow cold as others get too hot and explode. Planets are released that collide with stars or other planets. Amy heard her mom vaccuming the floors in the house after her bedtime a couple days later. Amy called her friend.
Donella, my mom is vaccuming the floor after my bedtime, this doesn’t abode well for me, I tell you mischief is a foot, that woman is up to no good!
Donella whispered, so no one could hear her. Oh, my poor friend, take bread with you so you can drop bread crumbs so people can find you!
Amy giggled. Donella, I will be on a river when the river rats steal me. Oh what cruel fate has the gods planned for me?
Donellaa giggled. Yeah, I didn’t think of that, forget the bread, keep your phone with you my brave friend.
Amy’s mom recognized that Amy is not close to her or her father. She believes an adventure of taking a houseboat ride together might bond them closer. She told Amy, You will be taking a houseboat trip with your dad down the Mississippi River. The two of you need to bond before you are grown!
Amy was a rebellious child who yelled. Have you taken a good look at me lately? You are too late!
Her mom screamed. You little monster, go to your room, don’t you dare come out of it to eat dinner. If I see you again today, I will slap the sass off your face!
Her mom added before Amy left the room. If you know what is good for you, you will do all of the cooking.
Amy went to her room to vow. I’ll go on this trip to get away from this evil witch who is not my real mom, I’ll show her!
Amy yelled. God, if you are listening, why am I in this strange mixed-up family? Peter is not my dad, my father is a real man, not a guy who keeps his nose in romance novels, and my mom is loving and kind.
Amy was looking forward to the trip and it started off fine until they got water in the fuel line. Peter was barely holding his own, but he had no mechanical ability or understanding. He did read the motor manual the previous owners left for him. He soon got lost after he removed the carburetor; he had it completely apart with parts all over the floor
When Amy said. That is a lot of parts to pass the fuel into the engine.
He got up to yell as he left. If you think you can do better, then do it!
Amy yelled after he left. That’s not fair; I didn’t take it apart!
Amy sat on the floor to read the motor manual explaining what to do if you get water in your fuel. She saw all of the pictures how to do it step by step. She told herself. What a big baby, even a girl can do this.
Amy put the carburetor together, but she wondered why so many parts were still on the floor. She knew she had to do it again, she had less parts laying on the floor this time. She installed the carburetor as she followed the steps until she got to the spark plugs. She did 4 of them to stop for the evening; it was getting dark.
The next morning Amy was up early to drink her coffee and eat boiled eggs. She leaned back to relax in the warm sun when a tiny fairy showed up on the rail. Sssh not so loud, be quiet, or they will hear you!
Amy saw the small fairy on the rail, afraid to make any noise. Huh, what are you talking about? Who will hear me?
The fairy flew over to stand on her shoulder to tell her. Ssssh, too loud, be very soft, you think too loud, they will come for you. Can you finish fixing the engine and move away from here where it is safe?
Amy was talking like a mouse as she said. I got 4 more spark plugs to change, then I can start the engine.
The fairy heard something, she flew away. After Amy replaced the spark plugs, the engine would not start. She read the motor manual again to find out she missed the fuel filter. She replaced it, then it started and ran purring like a kitten. Amy backed out into the wide river.
She was driving it smoothly when Peter came up for a cup of coffee. He told her. There is more to you than what meets the eye. It is a very good thing this rig has solar panels to keep the batteries charged. Pull into the first marina you see; I want a real breakfast.
Later that day Amy had accidently made a wish when she was with the fairy, she wanted to be the same age as the fairy. She didn’t know she was over 1000 year-old. They both looked like they were 15 years old. Amy’s intentions were selfish, she wanted a sister about the same age as herself. After she made the wish, Amy still looked 15, and Jill looked like she was about 14 and skinny. Amy didn’t know how to read minds, and she didn’t know if she had magic until Jill told her that she did. Amy was really excited to have a sister that her mom refused to have because her career came first.
Her dad Peter was there about half of the time since he loves romance novels and romance movies. Amy was used to being alone, but she knew she was supposed to have sisters and maybe a brother. Amy used magic to make her dad accept Jill as her sister. Every day Amy used magic to make the little houseboat run as fast as a ski-doo as she put a hydrofoil under it, and she modified the engine with a water pump.
Her father didn’t know why the boat was so smooth and quiet. Amy kept most of what she did a secret as she made the small houseboat run as fast as the wild wind before a storm. I guess you can say Amy was the storm. After Amy’s interview Steve wrote books about Amy’s trip. Many years later, Amy was the fairy queen, Amy had her own family.

37672.pngAmy heard about it from the small talk; people knew, a lot of people knew. How could anyone miss it? Amy Jones, the fairy queen, can read minds. He was coming here to meet her and interview the Fairy Queen. Amy Jones is 1094 by Earth years. She lives at the family home that she had to buy back, this was a very big and old house. Several large trucks and vans pulled up in front of the house.
Amy went outside to greet them, Amber, her teenage daughter of 72, popped in beside her. Hi Mom, this is awesome; they are here to interview you, well, us if you think about it.
Amy’s twin sisters, Jill and Jackie, popped in as they asked Amy’s daughter, Amber. Amber, why are you here? They want to interview your mom and her sisters, so buzz off, kid.
Jill and Jackie are the same age as Amy, about 1094 years old. They look like they are close to 30, but Amber, who is 72, looks like she is 15. Amber materialized on the sidewalk in front of the house, making Jackie and Jill jealous of the kid grandstanding them. Of course, the TV crew noticed Amber as they closed in around her. Amy was proud of her clever daughter as Amy’s other very talented daughter, Fiona, materialized next to Amy.
Hey, mom, what is popping around here? I heard you were getting interviewed today by Steve Cargill. Isn’t he yummy? You will introduce me too, right?
Fiona is 52, but she looks 13; she still has a baby face. Fiona grabbed Amy’s left arm to hold it tight. I am your best daughter ever and the beloved sister of Amber.
Amy smiled at her sweet daughter.
You know how much I love you, Fiona, of course, you belong here today,
Jill told her sister, Amy. Tell the kids to get lost; they will listen to you, my Queen.
Jackie rolled her eyes. Can this get any worse?
Uncle Joe popped in,
