I’ve often said that one of the most underappreciated modern conveniences is rope. It’s a commonplace commodity that seems to be available everywhere, at all times, and in various forms. It is inexpensive and can oftentimes be had for free. Some forms of rope can even found in the garbage! In general, rope is easy to acquire. This ease of acquisition is, I suppose, directly related to its importance for most industries in modern society. However, the average person doesn’t use rope regularly. This has led to an unfortunate lack of appreciation for rope and its many uses.
