About this ebook

Remains of a Body is a collection of short stories and very short stories, in which reality is mixed with fiction in an effort to depict the human suffering. The overwhelming absurdity that afflicted man in the midst of the Syrian war, which affected people and stones. The collection deals with human and social topics through texts full of symbolism and suggestion, so it relied on everything that is strange and miraculous, in addition to humanization of things, and deviation from the normal. Its language is dramatic and pessimistic most often in order to put us in the atmosphere of the war and its effects on humans.

    Dedication

    Dedication to my grandmother

My grandmother's mill was spinning and spinning after the bombing..

    Tales between Papers

    A

    - ll colors escape me and my pale hands... I tried to get rid of that damned pen. I broke it but my hands were still flopping in the air, they drew human figure...

    - Yesterday, I remembered my shadow which was laughing at me in front of a stack of white papers...

    - Even if my neck was broken...we will live... we do not die...

I try not to think...but ...the voices were getting louder because of a pen which does not sleep...

I got out to the street which was busy with humans...From far, there were white and black shadows following me and mocking at me. They stared to form the shadows of their normal life as if we were not in the street...

    - Inside the picture, a young man catches a young girl and kisses her in front of people...

    I try to close my eyes...I hit the sidewalk...inside the paper;

Someone stole a plate of food in front of a hungry man.

    - Someone gave me his arm...

    - Are you good Sir?

    - Yes, yes...

Shadows are getting far away and their amusement rise to the sky. I returned home carrying my sadness, human melancholy and disability in front of these ethereal creatures.

They insist that they are still stretching...

I close my eyes...then the tales of long night start...

I re-open my eyes by force.

    - I do not want anyone...

My voice is loud penetrating the wall of the house...

I heard my neighbor telling her husband...may be our neighbor got mad. It is better to call the hospital of mental diseases.

I take refuge by silence from the gossip of that damned neighbor.

My hands move again and draw human spirits that speak...laugh...shout...and dance...

I am sleeping and my hands are still writing to survive the tales.

A City in the Darkness of Night

I do not know what happened when the power went out suddenly. I stung my beloved a painful sting. She shouted from pain
