About this ebook

Such a pretty little Raven.
The unattainable.
The Goddess amongst men, but they crave her just the same.
They all look to clip her wings—desperate to cage her, not knowing freedom is all she’ll ever seek.
Such a pretty little Raven.
Soaring high in the sky, fleeing from a past that haunts her in the dark.
She’ll never be free of it even when she finds her savor to guide her flight.
She’ll seek salvation in him while she taints his light.
There are demons in the dark eager to taste her flesh,
And they’ll bleed her dry while they burn her world.
It’s such a pretty sight,
Watching a Raven desperate to take flight,
Trying to escape but the darkness she created has plucked out her wings,
Leaving her defenseless and broken.
Such a pretty little Raven,
Your screams will fill the night air,
And when your heart stops beating,
The world will no longer be in despair.

Have you ever been at the mercy

    Of a woman

    Who’s relentless in her pleasure?

    Have you chained, on display

Making you beg for a release.

    You’re desperate for her lips

But you’ll settle for his instead.

    By a woman who’s relentless

    In her own pleasure?

    Such a pretty little Raven.

Sitting high up on her perch.

    My pretty little Raven

How I wish to pierce your perfect flesh

Watch it turn crimson and drink from the wound

I beg to be one with you

    I’m desperate for your screams

    I want to own you

The way you own my soul

    That see everything but me

    My pretty little Raven

    Let me clip your wings

You’ll never escape what I have planned for you.

Jax Pierce lounged at the bar of club Lush—one of the most exclusive clubs in North Ivywood—the city portion of the state he lived in. There was the hustle and bustle that could remind someone of New York City life, but if you drove just forty-five minutes south, you’d be in the countryside surrounded by trees and mountains. Jax usually preferred to stay south of the city, but he always found himself coming back into the city—back to Lush.

Music poured through the sound system, but it wasn’t loud and overbearing like most of the nightclubs in the city. It was on a lull hum, meant to entice and invite you down whatever rabbit hole Lush had on display that night.

Jax glanced around Lush, taking in the women who wore next to nothing—it was illegal for them to be fully naked—the state’s laws—but both the men and women here were pushing the boundaries of what it meant to be naked. Almost everyone, except Jax, had worn a mask covering part of their faces. If Jax knew anyone here tonight, he hadn’t been able to tell with the dim lighting and the masks. It was better for him if he didn’t recognize anyone. He liked to keep a low profile, at least for now.

Lush was a massive club. There was a lower level with private rooms that were invite only as well as back rooms on the first floor that led to different playgrounds for different appetites. There was an upstairs area that was reserved for the owner and workers of Lush. The main floor served as a place to mingle amongst the guests and if you wanted to sample some of the appetizers Lush had to offer. There was also a stage area that held performances or workshops for anyone looking to dive deeper into their kinks.

Lush was exclusive not just because of its clientele but also because of what it had to offer behind closed doors. It was illegal to sell sex in Ivywood, but Lush walked a fine line within law. The club was meant to be a safe space for men and women—however they identified—to explore desires that most would shun. It went beyond the kinks of the BDSM world, or maybe this was the step you took before you dove deeper, Jax wasn’t sure. He just knew Lush had offered a freedom for people to explore what they were into.

Jax watched as two women with green masks on made out with each other while they stroked a cock attached to a guy who sat in between them. He was wearing a mask that resembled a wolf. His head was thrown back in ecstasy as the women took turns sucking on each other’s tongues and sucking him down their throats.

They had picked up quite the audience. Both men and women had gathered around to watch the threesome. Jax wasn’t sure if they were part of the Lush employees or guests, but he couldn’t take his eyes off of them. Lust curled in his belly causing Jax to let out a harsh breath as his balls sat heavy in his jeans.

Jax could hear the man in the wolf’s mask groan from where he stood, and when the wolf’s eyes opened up, they collided with Jax’s. An amused smile titled the wolf’s lips up as his hips moved, pushing his cock into the women’s hands, and something started to stir inside Jax.

It was the same sensation he had all his life when he thought about sex. He tried to ignore it then like he was trying to ignore it now—he wasn’t ready to face what he was feeling just yet.

A guy wearing a blood red mask walked behind the threesome and started running his hands up and down the wolf’s chest before tilting his head back. Jax held his breath, transfixed by what he was watching. The man in the red mask leaned forward, pressing his lips against the wolf, and Jax couldn’t find it in him to turn away from the show they were putting on. If anything, he felt the draw to move to it and join them.

Jax took a healthy sip of the whiskey in his hands. Lush had a one drink limit to avoid people getting so drunk that they made decisions they would regret when the buzz of the liquor wore off. The whiskey was watered down, and he desperately wanted something stronger. He was having a hard time understanding what it was about the group play that was turning him on. His cock ached painfully behind his zipper, whispering its need to have Jax go over there and let one of them stroke it till he came.

He swallowed the urge to approach the group play and pulled his gaze away from them, hoping it would calm the fire that now coursed through his body. He scanned the crowd, taking in everyone who was on the main floor. Each guest wore a bracelet around their right wrist, indicating what level of membership they had for Lush. The colors were neon yellow, green, pink, and blood red. Yellow was for the newbies, those testing out what they were comfortable with and if the club was a good fit. They had a month to decide if they wanted to continue their membership to Lush and level up a tier. The green and the pink were for the main floor, willing to engage in activities but couldn’t go downstairs or in the back rooms without a companion who held a red bracelet.

Jax’s red bracelet weighed heavily against his skin. It had taken a long time to get to this level, and every time he was here he wondered if he would see her. He hadn’t been ready to seek her out before, and avoiding her had proven to be work because they had always managed to find their way back to each other. He hadn’t been ready to approach her when he first bought his membership here, and he wasn’t one hundred percent sure he was ready now, but he couldn’t hold it off any longer. He knew what it was like to almost lose her permanently five years ago when she fell in love with someone else.

He had to watch his beautiful Raven Wright be with someone who understood her in a way he had never been able to.

This isn’t going to work, Jax. You keep trying to change me because I don’t fit into the box and labels you had growing up. I love you but not at the expense of losing myself.

Losing yourself? Please, Raven. Spare me the bullshit. It’s not normal that you want to fuck every Tom, Dick, and Sally while somehow being in a committed relationship to me. That’s not how relationships work, Jax spat.

That’s not how the relationships you know work. I’ve shown you plenty that do work like that. Tell me, are you pissed because you think this brings up an inadequacy in you, or is it because it turns you on just as much as it turns me on to watch you with someone else?

Her words and taunt had been a wakeup call. It was the last thing she said to him before she walked out of his life for the last time five years ago. They had dated on and off for the better part of ten years, but his insistence on saving her from a life she didn’t need saving from had always broken them up.

Her tastes and her needs were something Jax hadn’t been able to understand in the beginning with his religious upbringing. His mom and grandparents drilled into him that one man and one woman were what was intended to be a successful relationship. When you invited the devil in, you invited problems you’d never recover from.

Jax let a humorless chuckle slip from his lips. His mom and grandparents were probably rolling over in their graves knowing the good Catholic boy they raised had been hanging out with deviants for the past year. Maybe his appetites had been as big as Raven’s were, and it only took her showing him a world outside of his church to find it.

The energy in Lush shifted as the club lights started to dim while the mainstage lights brightened. The stage had one lonely chair and table set up. From where Jax stood, he could see ropes and something else on top of the table. He’d come here enough times to know there would be a performance tonight.

A collective hush fell over the guests, even the threesome disengaged from each other and faced toward the stage. The music had been lowered to a quiet vibration that Jax felt against his skin. He was sure the music choices that filtered through the speakers of Lush had been curated specifically to wrap around his cock the way a lover’s lips would. Even now his body was coiled in anticipation of what was to come. His balls were heavy as his cock throbbed to the point it was bordering a painful type of pleasure.

Jax let out a long breath, doing his best to push down the carnal need that coursed through his body. He wouldn’t dive into a random stranger, not yet. Not until he found Raven.

The eruption of applause had Jax looking at the stage again, and he held his breath. There was a rumor that Raven was performing tonight, something she hadn’t done since he met her. It was the main reason why he was at Lush tonight. He was ready for her to see him.

He started walking toward the stage, hoping that she would see him when she walked out, but his excitement dampened when he saw a woman with thick red locks sauntering on stage. Jax let the disappointment he felt wash over him like a cold shower, keeping his feet rooted in place.

    A year.

He’d been coming to Lush for a year and he hadn’t once run into her. There was no way she hadn’t noticed his name on the membership roster. While he hadn’t been ready to see her until tonight, he thought for sure her curiosity about him being at Lush would have granted an audience with her, especially since most of their fights and cause for break ups had been because of Lush and the lifestyle she lived.

Jax took another swig of his drink, which tasted more like whiskey flavored water than actual whiskey, as the performers set up on stage. He heard the whisper of his name and he almost ignored it, thinking he was hearing things, but when he half turned to the right, his heart lurched to his throat. A pair of amber eyes that in the right light looked golden paired with a smile that wrapped around his cock as swiftly as if her lips were actually on him stared back at him.

Raven, her name was a plea ripped from his throat. He couldn’t believe she was here standing close enough that he could see the rise and fall of her chest, and yet not close enough to reach out and touch her. Every emotion he’d ever felt for her pumped through his body.

    Fuck he missed her.

She was the only one in here not wearing a mask. Her face was bare except for a touch of blush lipstick that coated her lips, and Jax’s wanted nothing more than to smear it with his lips. She was wearing a black bodysuit with fishnet stockings underneath and his hand flexed, an image of him ripping them to shreds crossed his mind. Around her neck she wore a choker, in here it could pass for a collar, and a flash of white hot jealousy coursed through him at the idea that someone else had been able to make Raven submit when he hadn’t been able to.

Their relationship had consisted of this push and pull—neither one of them willing to fall back and let the other lead, and why would they? Jax never truly understood Raven’s needs, and she couldn’t let her guard down long enough to relax around him.

Raven walked the short distance that remained between them, and Jax’s eyes went straight to the sway of her hips—a seductive song that was meant to end with the taste of her on his lips. The air turned hot in Lush, and all he could do was take in Raven as she stopped with just a breath able to pass between them.

Detective Pierce. She purred his last name in that way that made him want to drop to his knees and inhale her. Are you here for work or pleasure? If it’s pleasure, she took him in, her lips pursed before her golden gaze locked with his in challenge, I don’t think you have the appetite for what we’re selling.

The sight of Detective Jax Pierce both annoyed Raven and made her heart flutter in her chest. She hadn’t seen him in five years, and time had done shit to help her forget about the man. He still plagued her mind in the quiet moments she had to herself and in the moments she let herself get lost in a stranger’s body. No one had touched her like Jax had, even with the rift in their relationship—that mountain of things that Jax never wanted to deal with or talk about because it went against everything he was ever taught. They fought hard and fucked even harder. Raven desperately wanted their relationship to work—proof had been her inability to put her foot down and always take him back. Their relationship was everything Raven had needed and wanted.

They were perfect for each other, minus their inability to come to terms with how Raven led her life. She hoped in the ten years that they had known each other, they would be able to find a compromise.

    But that day never came.

He was insistent on clipping her wings, so while her heart broke, she walked away, refusing to be stifled by a love that didn’t understand her enough to hear her.

It was as much a slap in the face as it was comical that he was standing here after he called her every name in the book during one of their many fights for owning and partaking in what went on in Lush. This club had been a sore spot for him because it had opened his eyes to a world that existed outside of the beautiful lie he’d been taught. It also opened him up to desires he hadn’t come to terms with, and while that should have been an opportunity for them to communicate and grow as a couple, it had only brought discord.

When she saw his name come across the new members file, she almost declined his membership. Dealing with the crazy zealots who protested outside of Lush on a daily basis was enough, she didn’t need one on the inside tearing it down.

Raven had no idea why she kept his membership active, but she waited, watching from her perch in her office to see exactly what he was here to do. She’d seen him interact with a few customers, nothing above a conversation and a little petting. He enjoyed his one drink max and occasionally walked to the back rooms, but he never took it further than watching the festivities and jerking off when she knew the passion had become too much for him to ignore.

    A year.

He showed up frequently over a year’s time, learning the club and the regulars, and still he hadn’t played. Even tonight, she watched from a distance as he seemed enthralled by the threesome on the lounge couch, but he hadn’t made a move to join them. Her own curiosity about him had finally peaked, and she’d come down here to find out exactly what it was that he wanted, from her and from Lush.

Ms. Wright, his smile was devastating as it lit up his face. It made him seem as sinister and angelic as what happened behind the walls of Lush. He leaned forward, his hand going to the loop at the collar she wore and giving it a little tug, pulling her closer to him. If this were any other situation, Raven would pull away from his touch, but there was a familiarity between them, one that was wrapped up in an intimacy that years couldn’t remove.

It’s not detective anymore. Just Jax will do. His voice was deep and rich, making her toes curl in her heels. God, she loved the way his voice felt like an intimate caress against her skin. He always had a power to touch her in a way that never required his hands.

The attraction between them hadn’t ever been an issue. She could fuck him from sun up to sun down, but she always needed just a little bit more that he wasn’t willing to budge on.

I think Lush has exactly what I need to satisfy my appetite. He brought the hand up that held his drink, letting her see the red wristband that was like a branding mark against his skin.

She’d known what his membership status was, had seen him move through the tiers of Lush, and still it hadn’t prepared her for actually seeing the red band he seemed proud to wear.

I see things have changed, Pierce. She murmured up at him, wondering exactly what brought him to Lush tonight. A small part of her hoped he was here for her.

He brought his thumb up against her bottom lip, his eyes darkened as he looked down at her. It was like they were the only two in Lush, though she couldn’t ignore the sounds of pleasure coming from the stage performers. Every moan, every sound of a whip had her core aching in response. You have no idea, Ms. Wright, but I think it’s better to show you than try and convince you with my words.

Raven sucked in a sharp breath at what Jax was telling her. She thought she had imagined it—conjured up the words on her own from the ache that settled in between her legs. He wanted to play in her playground, and the idea of Jax in one of the back rooms, his power barely restrained until he could release it, made her pussy clench.

She looked up at him, taking in his black jeans and regular black shirt—seeming to want to blend into the walls of Lush, preferring to watch and be unseen, but Jax wasn’t a man who could stay hidden. He had played college football until he tweaked his meniscus—at six five and two hundred and fifty pounds of solid muscle that had always looked like it had been sun kissed—the good Catholic boy had a body built for all sorts of sin.

Raven remembered the feel of his lips pressed against her skin, the way his hands knew exactly the right amount of pressure she needed and when she needed it. She may have opened him up to a different type of pleasure, but Raven always swore that beast lingered just beneath the beliefs of his mom and grandparents, and she was going to find out if she was right tonight.

She stepped further into him, ignoring the club around them. She knew exactly what room to take him to, to see how much truth lay behind his words. She gripped his hand that held the glass of whiskey and took it from him. She threw the rest of the liquid back like a shot. It was watered down, which helped it go down smoothly. She grabbed Jax’s hand and guided it in between her legs, letting him get reacquainted with what he once called heaven.

She shuddered at the possessive way he gripped her. That sounds like a challenge, Pierce, her smile was sweet and inviting as she took a step away from him before her body took over, and she let him make her climax in the middle of Lush.

Come, she reached for his belt and gently tugged him forward. Let’s play, Pierce.

    My pretty little Raven

    Such the temptation.

It’s in the way you swivel your hips

    And lick your lips

That leads us all to damnation.

    My pretty little Raven

It turns me on watching you

    Destroy them with

    What lies between your legs.

    My pretty little Raven

    They’ve coveted what isn’t theirs.

    When I clip your wings

    Your screams will remind you,

    I don’t share.

Jax followed behind Raven, his eyes glued to the roundness of her ass and the way her hips switched back and forth like a pendulum, making him wonder on which side of this challenge he would land. The music from the main room had become significantly lower—a whisper in his ear of what was to come as he walked down a dimly lit hallway.

He felt like he was being led down the road to his damnation, and he hadn’t figured out if his fall from grace would be a good thing or not. His mother always told him never to take candy from strangers or follow pretty girls down dark alleys, and here he was following the devil’s consort herself down a dark and deprived hallway in hopes for another taste of her. Everything he was doing was to get back the woman’s wings he once sought to clip.

They passed two rooms going by the dungeon masters, as they were called, standing guard outside of each room. No one got in unless they had the right color wristband or if the main room was over capacity. He had to give it to Raven, when it came to the safety and operation of Lush, she made sure everything and everyone was covered.

Raven stopped at the last door and Jax chuckled, not surprised that she wouldn’t ease him into this. He’d been coming here for a year and she had known—had to see the nights he signed in but never dared to play. She didn’t believe that he had come here because in her absence his own curiosity and appetite had grown and he couldn’t ignore it any longer.

Ms. Wright, it’s been awhile. The dungeon master to the third door had given Raven a once over that had Jax’s old ideas of possession rearing its ugly head. He stepped flushed behind her before he could stop himself, glaring at the dungeon master.

Raven’s laughter fluttered around him before she took a step closer to the dungeon master. It’s good to see you, David. How’s the baby?

Jax shook his head, trying to collect himself. He wanted this—wanted to explore this side of him with her, and he tried to push down how he’d been taught, hoping he didn’t fall back on old habits.

You playing tonight, Ms. Wright? The room is already in full swing. David looked down at his clipboard before handing it over to Raven. She wrote her name down and handed the clipboard over to Jax who followed suit. He noticed all the names on the paper and his imagination went wild, wondering what he was walking into.

If you need protection, lube, and packaged toys that are new and haven’t been used, there are four other dungeon masters inside. What are the rules? David had directed the question at Jax.

No means no. Just because people might be fucking inside does not mean I have the right to join. Always ask for consent. If there’s an issue or concern, find a dungeon master asap. They will be the ones wearing a neon green vest. Yellow means pause, red is a full on stop. Jax recited what he had to learn to receive the red wristband membership. The rules for Lush had been a mile long, and each tier only added to it.

David nodded, happy with the answer. Some are wearing masks inside, but it is optional. He reached behind him, pulling out two red masks that were wrapped in plastic. Do you need, or are you forgoing the mask?

Raven turned toward Jax. Up to you. Masks can give us a certain type of courage we otherwise wouldn’t have.

Jax smirked down at Raven. Her golden eyes shone in the darkness like a beacon of light he wanted to cling to, not realizing the light was a cleverly laid trap. That light wasn’t meant to keep the darkness away, it was meant to lead an unsuspecting fool into a devil’s den that held pleasures he hadn’t known could exist.

He lifted his hand to hook his fingers in the hook of her collar once more, enjoying maybe a little too much at how easily it allowed him to pull her closer to him.

She leveled a look at him, a smirk teasing her lips. You know once we get behind those doors, this is coming off.

Jax chuckled. That is the plan, Raven. If I remember correctly, I preferred you naked. He tentatively placed a hand on her hip as he leaned in close enough that his voice wouldn’t carry to the dungeon master. No masks, I think we’ve spent too much time in our relationship hiding behind something or another. I don’t want anything obstructing my view for tonight.

He pulled away from her, keeping his hand on her low back, and gently nudged her toward the only door on the first floor that was painted red. As soon as the door opened, Jax was immediately assaulted by the sounds of sex and his body hardened. His heartbeat was a steady drum in his chest, and he felt his hands shake—anticipation was a hell of a drug to the system.

The lights were dim, but it was bright enough that there could be no mistake who was interacting with who. There was a stage in the middle of the room with a woman tied down by ropes. She was naked, except for the thick pink collar around her throat. There was a woman in between her legs, lazily tasting what was being offered, while a man in leather pants had his cock in the bound woman’s mouth.

Jax scanned the rest of the room, noticing that this was the one room that gave people on the main floor visual access to what went on behind the red door. Even now, Jax could see guests lingering, hungry gazes in their eyes as they watched the people in the room fuck.

Raven ushered him to two empty seats that let them have a view of the entire room. Their backs were up against the windowpane, and Jax could feel the curious glances behind him. He’d be lying if he said it didn’t make him nervous, but when he felt Raven’s hand grip his thigh, he refocused and settled into his seat, trying to see the room through her eyes.

Jax noticed the threesome from earlier on the other side of the room, including the man in the red mask. Their bodies were so well intertwined, like a beautiful sculpture. He couldn’t tell where one
