Weight Loss Diets Introduction
This Weight Loss Diets book covers two very good weight loss diet plans that serve to not only help you to lose weight but to become healthy and develop a healthy lifestyle. The Clean Eating Diet and the Superfoods Diet are the two plans represented here. Below you will find comprehensive sections explaining more about the Clean Eating Diet plan. You will learn what is the Clean Eating Diet as well as the benefits to such a diet. And there is a complete section explaining tips for the Clean Eating Diet as well as recipes and a sample meal plan.
The Superfoods Diet is the second section in the book. In this section, you will find recipes for main dishes, side dishes, appetizers, breakfast, desserts, and snacks. You will have enough recipes to cover meal plans for several weeks or longer.
What is the superfood diet anyway, you ask? Superfoods are a term for foods that are deemed super
meaning they are high in nutrients, that they are much better for consumption than most other foods. Fourteen such foods are considered the highest in benefits and nutrition with many others able to be lumped into the same group as well.
The fourteen superfoods include beans, blueberries, broccoli, oranges, pumpkin, soy, spinach, tea, tomatoes, turkey, walnuts, whole grains, wild salmon, and yogurt. These foods are helping to give the body the nutrients it need to combat debilitating health conditions like aging, cancer, dementia, diabetes, heart disease, and high blood pressure. At the very least the nutrients within the super foods helps to treat these illnesses and conditions.
Take the orange as an example of a great super food. The orange is high in vitamin C, which is an anti oxidant. This helps to fight off free radicals that attack the immune system and helps to treat and prevent conditions like a cold virus, high cholesterol, hypertension, and even strokes. Other foods high in vitamin C are apples, kiwifruit, and tomatoes. In addition to the vitamin C, oranges also contain beneficial fiber, pectin, polyphones, and potassium.
Super foods are high in fiber, which is very beneficial to the body. Fiber helps to clean out the digestive track and plays and integral role in weight loss and management of weight loss. Take beans as an example of a super food high in fiber. (Other high fiber super foods are avocados, broccoli, pumpkin, and spinach.) Beans work as a great protein too and for vegans and vegetarians they offer every bit of the protein needed for a balanced diet. The nutrients in beans are fiber, iron, magnesium, potassium, and vitamin B. Fiber helps to keep the body feeling full so it suppresses the appetite, which helps to lose weight.
Probably the most beneficial thing about super foods
is their levels of actual anti oxidants. The berries (blackberries, blueberries, cherries, cranberries, and strawberries) among the super foods group are the highest in anti oxidants including carotenoids, fiber, folate, magnesium, manganese, niacin, potassium, vitamin C, and vitamin E.
Super foods are good to help create complex carbohydrates when certain foods are paired together. Complex carbs give the body an energy boost, which helps in weight loss, because you have to be moving in order to burn off calories and melt fat. These whole grains give complex carbs, barley, brown rice, bulgur, couscous, kamut, millet, oats, quinoa, rye, spelt, wheat and yellow corn. Oats especially contain high levels of fiber, lignins, phytoestrogens, polyphenols, protease inhibitors, and vitamin E. These nutrients work in treating certain cancers and diabetes.
Another nutrient some of the super foods give are the omega 3 fatty acids. You can find this in salmon as well as Alaskan halibut, albacore tuna, clams, herring, oysters, sea bass, trout, and sardines. Salmon is one of the top of the super foods and is one recommended to consume on a regular basis. Salmon is high in omega 3 and in potassium, protein, selenium, vitamin B, and vitamin D. Omega 3 is a beneficial fat the brain needs as well as the body. A deficiency in this results in cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure, mental and emotional issues, and even certain cancers.
Of all the super foods, there are ten that are especially helpful in weight loss. These are apples, avocados, bananas, beans, berries, broccoli, kale, oats, oranges, and whole grains. Fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and legumes are heralded as the best foods nature provides. Take a look at the vegetables such as broccoli and those in the broccoli family such as Brussels sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower, mustard greens, Swiss Chard, and turnips. Eating these regularly will help to lose the weight because they are low in calories but high in nutrients.
Kale is a dark green vegetable green that not only helps to lose and manage weight it also provides nutrients that help to build strong bones, gives energy, and most importantly boosts the immune system. Kale is included in several of the recipes within this book.
Fruits are nature's desserts and snacks and if you include them in your diet, you are giving your body a super food that tastes as good as it is nutritious. Apples help with weight loss but also help to keep the blood pressure leveled. There is an old saying that holds very true, An apple a day keeps the doctor away.
Bananas are high in potassium and this works to build strong bones and keep the blood pressure leveled too. Who doesn't like berries? Blackberries, blueberries, boysenberries, cranberries, currants, raspberries, and strawberries are high in anti oxidants, which will work on keeping the immune system strong and provides energy so you can get up and exercise.
Beans provide protein as well as fiber. Eating a healthy portion of beans regularly will aid in weight loss and overall good health. Beans include garbanzo beans, green beans, green peas, lentils, lima, navy, pinto, and sugar snap peas. Including the super foods as a part of each meal insures the body will be receiving all the vital nutrients needed.
Section 1: Clean Eating Diet
Although many Americans find themselves dieting on a regular basis, most people never end up losing the fat and weight they really want to. Even though most people continue to diet on a regular basis, obesity, diabetes, metabolic syndrome and heart disease are all prevalent. Of course, when embarking on the clean eating diet, you may not be sure how the diet works, what you can eat or how to begin clean cooking. This clean eating cookbook is packed with helpful information on the clean eating diet, benefits of this diet, helpful cooking tips and plenty of great recipes that you can use for any meal. Chapter 1: What is the Clean Eating Diet?
Believe it or not, the clean eating diet is not a new diet plan. It has been used for many years, although it has recently become more popular. Many people credit Tosca Reno, a Canadian author and fitness model, with making this approach popular. However, this diet has actually been along
