In this technological and digital era, Eco-criticism has become one of the hottest topics for intellectual discussion in the academia leading to intensification of new field of study. The researchers and scholars are captivated by the crisis taking place every year across the ecosphere. Several natural disasters and pandemics are engulfing the world leaving untold loss of human lives and property. In this connection, eco-criticism is being established as the theory of ecology and environment for the conservation of ecological zones to promote sound ecosystems as far as it is possible for the human beings and other living species. YARSHAGUMBAISM is the process of transforming the world in the fearlessness form via conserving/protecting/saving/making/forming the ecosystem perfect/balanced/ harmonious/human and animal-friendly environment and ecology constituting the planet, Earth, creating her sound health to support the entire living beings and things. It is one of the plainly written books for those people who are perceiving environment as essential component for the existence of this universe. Through the application of dialogue and deep conversation among the academic people, unfolding from different point of views on the role of each and every person to conserve the ecology and environment, the book highlights on importance of developing academic curriculum from school level to university level for instilling deeper understanding on importance of ecology and its importance. The mother earth has to lose its beauty leading to disappearance of human civilization unless the strict law is formed and executed by the nations. Moreover, the book finds role of superpower nations for the balancing of ecosystem. The book has shed a light on the importance of conservation of green environment from the different perspectives like political, commercial, cultural and biological. In addition, the book promotes the thoughts on FEAROLOGY and emerging discipline on social science.

Book Review by: Stavros Kiriakakis (Stavros Kiri), PhD Physics and Philosophy, University of Rochester, Rochester, NY
[Yarsha-Gumbaism is] An excellent book in the domain of Eco-fearism, Ecology and Fearology ..., by 4 significant authors, with ambitious positive humanitarian and ecological in the global system goals, each one. It is laid out in a neat and organized manner, with proper significant content and essential organized structure, accompanied by combination of analytical and synthetical scientific, real as well as poetic methods and content, and at the same time with many pictures painted e.g. about the motivation and nature and Eco-system based FACTS and experiences etc., based on all 4 authors’ personal real life experiences, knowledge, interests and shaped knowledge and goals etc. ..., as well as the interaction and discussion between them.
The book uses Yarsha-Gumba (Cordyceps Sinensis) [and the snow deer] (as well as the global ecosystem) not only as a paradigm and significant example for/of natural valuable organisms to be respected and should be preserved etc., as/before human domination and conquering over nature etc. (as humans undoubtedly being the superior intelligent species of the planet - however causing and possessing risks and dangers though at the same time [and sometimes in a contradictory and even destructive manner] ...), but also as A PRINCIPLE (Yarsha-Gumba principle [and snow deer principle] ...) and/or method/model/theory for ecology and saving/preserving living organisms in the global ecosystem etc. ...; and combines it with the fearological principle [Principle of Fearology - e.g. originally displayed by Dr Michael Fisher ...] etc. ...
Also touches, analyzes and combines issues and subjects pertaining and regarding significant matters such as Life in our planet, Humans and Animals, Viruses in the ecosystem and humans, our Species’ survival, Politics, Ecology, Fearism and more ..., with 1) use of generally correct and rich language 2) vivid painted pictures and adequately explained and displayed examples, reality matters and [life in our planet etc.] scenarios etc. ... 3) generally correct arguments and scientific terminology and methods ..., and even 4) enticing and stimulating relevant or metaphoric quoted verses from/as poems ... ..., in a stream of a dialogue and parallel presentation and explicit analysis that definitely wins the reader ...
Important issues, points and quotes I’d like to bring up and/or discuss:
1. Experience widens psyche and speaks better than envisioned vicariously. So, what I write is the ideas what I experience more with directly observed entities.
(Bhawani A.)
2. This book is in the form of dialogue between Bhawani Shankar Adhikari, the senior English lecturer of Nepal Sanskrit University, in Balmeeki Campus Kathmandu, Nepal and Steve Hawes, the journalist from Australia and Dr Govinda Prasad Guragain, the Associate professor of political science in Tribhuwan University, in Padhmakanya Campus. I (Bhawani) have got the experience of living in the most polluted capital city, Kathmandu of Nepal and the dust, smokes, mud in the rain and the like has made me aware about the environment and the ecosystem and its significance in human life.
Bhawani A. also sais: I myself being brought up in the heavenly beautiful zone of nature and getting experienced of most polluted zones like Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal and various towns of plain zones of Nepal has ignited my psyches to explore such human misdeeds for the protection of the nature via writing to inform the global citizens. Yarsha-Gumba and the snow deer like rarest and valuable species have turned out as essential to protect and to heed more than gold and platinum for the ecosystem globally. Yarsh-Gumba stands as metaphor to connotate the entire existing eco-systems of nature via which the planet, Earth has become as a paradise for all who share it.
3. a) The 1st author, Bhawani Shankar Adhikari (who also sais By birth I got heavenly environment in the hilly zone of Panchthar District of eastern region of Nepal
) [& seems to have had desire & love for knowledge, nature & environment etc. with diverse live significant and ‘view-shaping’ experiences etc.] is also the author of another 6 interesting and significant books (this one is the 7th ...) ...
... ... My fifth book is Eco-Fearism – co-authored with Desh Subba and Osinakachi Okuma Kalu. My sixth book is Exotic Fearology with new perspective based on fear and excitement simultaneously. This is my seventh book co-authored with Steeve Hawes and Dr Govinda Prasad Guragain, the Associate Professor in Tribhuwan University of Nepal, based on Yarsha-Gumba principle and snow deer as well as global ecosystem and its device of balancing the ecology and environment globally. I have realized that writing book is not only collection of experiences and knowledge but also sharing ideas and informing the facts with the readers. 21st century has turned out to be the time of global village. Any events occurred in any corner of the Earth reach the eyes and minds of global citizens via digital skills and information is inevitable to modern people. I have planned to provide a perspective to see the world from the fearological principle to the existing global burning issues even by the readers once they go through it. My future research would be to go Eco- Crisis and how it can be managed via application of fearology principle in day-to-day affairs to save humanity by saving nature.
b) I (Steve Hawes) have got the knowledge of the global degrading eco-condition and I have worried in it for the shake of humanity and as a journalist from Australia experienced through forest fire and the death of uncountable wild animals in 2020 in Australia. The loss is a loss and it can never and ever be regained. I have witnessed plenty of natural disasters and dreadful situation of the ecosystem throughout the globe and I have initiated to awake the global citizens via writing as co-author with Mr. Bhawani Shankar Adhikari, English Lecturer of Nepal Sanskrit University and Dr Govinda Prasad Guragain, the Associate Professor of Tribhuwan University of Nepal. I have got tremendous inspiration from my grandfather to work for the eco-conservation and I got an opportunity to go with Mr Adhikari and this creation would be a kind of land mark to make aware to the global citizens to to more responsible to conserve the nature, animals and other creatures of the earth as significant as Shangri-La Yarsha-Gumba so far.
c) I (Govinda Prasad Guragain) have investigated the global degrading eco-condition and the ruthless exploitation on nature to disfigure the whole existing system. I pondered it as my duty to contribute little effort to save the humanity as it is to go even in future via inculcating the Yarsha-Gumba principle. Establishing Autonomous International Organization for the conservation of Eco-system can be only super-power body to act effectively for the purpose of aforementioned issues so far.
D) I (Bimala Sharma) have found out the significance of female’s role in conserving the ecology and ecosystem to play more effectively.
4. The purpose of the book is to inculcate the hidden principles of how to become the global citizens responsible to balance the ecosystem and to save the life of the each and every living beings and how to retain the healthy planet, Earth. Protecting the ecosystem and the sound Earth is not only the process of avoiding the possible disaster but also saving the life of the human beings and the other living beings of the Earth. Yarsha Gumba is the term that covers all the plants and creatures found on the Earth are equally significant as the Yarsha Gumba and it is to ignite the invisible consciences of the global citizens to be alert about the pros and cons of making concrete forest and air conditioning forest to the globe. It is to apply the principle of fearology to awaken the slumbering psyches of the people and to make conscious that all existing systems can exist and continue only if the ecosystem is balanced and the degrading process is halted on time. If not we are responsible to dig our graves and the graves of our future generations. The future of the book would be taken as a source of gaining knowledge how to act wisely to save ourselves for our risk management and to avoid unimaginable possible misfortune that may come sooner or later if we ignore to be conscious to halt the present deteriorating eco-condition on the Earth.
5. Dr Michael Fisher, fear management institute founder of Canada, has presented the traumatic figure of girl in the Twin Tower attack in 2001 and he has displayed the principle of fearology via the image of the traumatic girls. The same principle of fearology is to be applied to conserve the ecosystem of the world on time. As the eco- condition will be in the extreme form, then girl’s image like traumatic condition can certainly occur to the global citizens if we do not avoid of occurring such situation on time. Hence, the dialogue has covered the global ecosystem and its degrading situation and has even provided some of the strategies of protecting the ecosystem and balancing it for the shake of all living beings of this planet, Earth. I (Bhawani) have brought the Yarsha-Gumba and snow deer principle of conservation policies of Nepal and in the global context and I (Steve) have covered the Australian government policies of conserving the ecosystem in Australia and its government’s treaty to conserve the Antarctica ecosystem for the shake of the global citizens and the other global eco- conservation systems to be conserved for the shake of the humanity. I (Gobinda) have thought about the political will power to form the supreme system to manage the ecosystems of the world. The political system is the decision making system of what to do and what is not to do for the management of the ecology and the ecosystems to continue as it is even in the future. Until and unless the political power become ready to come in the action, it becomes complicated to materialize the fact and hence the ecologists and the environmentalists need to convince the political statesmen to give heed in it and sooner the better it becomes.
6. Always timely and contemporary, even touches the current important issues of coronavirus and pandemic [crisis] etc. ... :
"S: what do you think about the relationship between nature and viruses that are emerging in the world?
B: Nature has got close relationship with the various viruses that are emerging in the world. If the ecosystem is well-maintained, no viruses can become harmful for the human beings. The degradation of natural beauty is the outcome of the detrimental viruses as that of the coronavirus and its pandemic of 2020. Coronavirus and nature have got intimate affinity to deter corona and to convert fertile zone for it as it expressed in the following verse: CORONAVIRUS AND NATURE ... ..."
Although the above issue of natural viruses etc. is relatively controversial and in dispute/ subject to dispute etc. ..., ... the views expressed in the book are extremely valuable and presented, preserved and maintained with respected accurate integrity etc.
[my personal (S. K.) view is that, even regarding viruses, Nature can be as bad as Humans too, and in fact maintains the Superiority (thus source for fearism and respect) there too ..., as by natural mutating processes (as a natural mechanism for viruses’ survival ... etc.) nature can produce really harm-full viruses too ... ... – So, it’s not just Humans’ fault! ... ...]
7. Finally/Also, the book can also be categorized as touching issues and essence in the domains/eras of Morality and Eco-morality too etc., ... as the theory/method/view of Yarsha-Gumbaism presents/touches ideas, issues and high standards and values of Morality and Eco-morality ... (Significant for our Species Survival!! ... ...)
8. And a lovely epilogue:
"The fearology is to be injected in the psyches of the global citizens for the love and care of the mother Earth on time so as to escape the possible future traumatic fear’s rule and the catastrophes that may occur for human life. The journey of SANGRI-LAISM is to begin via fearology’s application in YARSHAGUMBAISM and if the global citizens get this knowledge through their experience/ study on time, it is certain to achieve. As the traders comprehend YARSHAGUMBA as the most significant source of earning money, so the global citizens need to take the ecology and environment as valuable as YARSHAGUMBA to keep/ maintain/sustain the life of all who are sharing this planet, Earth. As such feelings/ emotions/ passions/thoughts activate in day-to-day conduct/ manners/ behaviours of all global citizens through fear/ fearology, then the Mother Earth becomes as a utopia ecologically being balanced forever. It is called SHANGRI-LAISM, heavenly zone, the Planet EARTH for all
