During the pandemic, after numerous racial injustices and an accumulation of others in the past, racial equity and equitable instructional practices and strategies have become a prioritized discussion in education. And now both teachers and parents are in need of resources to help conduct lessons and to guide discussions on racial equity, also on how to teach and incorporate it into core content areas in order to achieve culturally relevant responses to instructional practices. This book provides many lessons that may be taught with in a series, or along side other core content areas,or as needed to enhance student engagement, and to help with developing a critical approach to discussing race, increase student motivation, and overall academic achievement. This is the first book of a series of books that provide lessons on how to have culturally responsive approaches to discussions on race for middle and high school students and guiding students to think of ways to help enhance racial equity. Lastly, each book is inclusive of a powerpoint that outlines the approach to each lesson and other resources to aid with completing the instruction, along with resources, and creating an environment that is conducive for students to learn about race.
