I Can't Move: A haunting, paralyzing journey to self-realization.
()
About this ebook
Sleep paralysis is sometimes viewed in an uncanny or demented way, making some people that experience it, shy away from sharing their episodes. Some of the "holier-than-thou" view the experience as one being evil or haunted by the devil, while others think the experiencer is looney or has a psychological problem.
Dani candidly and realistically reflects on her visions and physical state during sleep paralysis offering a more impartial perspective. She creatively intertwines the dream world with one's waking life, while eliminating the fear and spookism.
This fascinating book decodes the subconscious in a simple way, allowing readers to eccentrically dissect sleep paralysis to pinpoint hidden pains. Dani hopes to help readers self-reflect and view their experiences on a more personal and realistic level.
If you are ready to explore the paralyzing dream world and face your "demons", this is the book for you.

I Can't Move - Dani T. Taylor
About the Author
Dani T. Taylor was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and raised in Las Vegas, NV. Growing up, she was fascinated with people and loved to sit and listen to others share their life stories and experiences. This interest led to some early exposure to sociology and anthropology, and she later developed a passion for holistic science and psychology. In I Can’t Move, Dani explores how past sleep paralysis episodes helped her to delve more into her life to face uncomfortable realities and heal past traumas. She shares her experiences with hopes of helping others dealing with sleep paralysis to overcome their demons.
Foreword
My anxieties appear as different characters.
–D. Taylor
For the majority of my life, I have experienced sleep paralysis. Most of my episodes, as science explains it, derived from poor sleep habits and anxiety. However, after several decades of these paralyzing occurrences, I realized it was so much more.
My experiences with sleep paralysis are visually lifelike and physically crippling. I recall my episodes occurring in real time and in the exact room where I would fall asleep. The position of my body would be exactly the same in my paralyzed state. I could see the entire room in its current state—the sunlight or moonlight shining through the window, shadows on the walls and floor, and any person, object, fixture, or piece of furniture in the room.
I could hear my family talking in the living room, music playing, the television, leaves rustling, birds chirping, balls bouncing, footsteps, crackling sounds from behind the walls, or just complete silence. I could smell every scent in the room—the aroma from food cooking, incense, candles, or just fresh air. I could sense the vibe of the room, the feeling of loneliness or if there was an entity or demonic visitor present. I could physically feel the temperature of the room and the texture or comfort level of the surface I was lying on. I could feel sensations, physical pressure, pain, or the heaviness of my body as I lay motionless.
My experiences allowed me the opportunity to analyze myself. They opened doors to new abilities and shed light on unspoken truths that had a major impact on my life.
My eyes are wide open but shut to reality.

What Is Sleep Paralysis?
Different cultures call it different things. Personally, I have only heard of two sayings: the devil riding my back
and "the old hag that rides the back."
Sleep paralysis, as described by science, is an interim period that occurs when a person experiences a short period of not being able to move their body, speak, or react while falling asleep or when waking from sleep. If it occurs while someone is falling asleep it is called predormital sleep paralysis, and if it happens upon awakening it's called postdormital sleep paralysis.
During the predormital stage, a person's body slowly relaxes, and if they become aware they are experiencing this while falling asleep they will feel as though they can’t move or speak.
The postdormital type, on the other hand, takes place during sleep. This is when your body goes into REM (rapid eye movement) and you may notice that you cannot move your body or speak.
There is more to sleep paralysis, however, than just not being able to move or speak.
