Would you try naturism?
If one gives an answer before hearing, it is folly and shame.
Proverbs 18:13 (NRSV)
After reading this book, I hope you will understand the benefits of being clothesfree and respond to the information given in this book by visiting one naturist place for at least two days to participate in social naturism for yourself and then by sharing your first experience with at least one person. There are reasons why people in every demographic under the sun including Bible-believing Christians, conservative Americans, minor children and other ordinary Americans participate in social naturism today. The reason why naturist-curious Americans should at least read this book even if you disagree with its premise entirely is because you deserve to know the benefits naturists cite as reasoning to go nude in public places.¹ People have prejudices about groups because they lack a personal relationship with an individual member of that group: whether it is a Christian, a conservative American or a naturist citizen. Informed judgments should be made based on individual behavior today, not biased judgments from the worst character flaws from history. Making a reasonable judgment starts by being informed with evidence; the best evidence is an eyewitness account. People discover naturism in many ways, but some ways are more common.
Three common paths to finding naturism are education, evangelism and experience. The first path, education runs through naturist literature and cites authorities. If your first encounter with naturism is through this book, you likely have many questions and I will provide answers to the common questions that a naturist-curious person like you has.
The second path, evangelism, includes having a naturist ambassador tell you about naturism. You may personally know a naturist ambassador who knows about naturism and has invited you to attend a naturist place or a naturist event with them. Because you know a naturist ambassador and that person told you about naturism, your friend knows and likely experiences the benefits of social naturism. That means you have an additional credible source for more information besides the authorities cited in this book, which provide a clear path for more research. Everyone in the world should experience social naturism, with the introductory encounter at a landed resort, at least twice². Because John 3:16 applies to you individually, so does the previous sentence.
The third path, experience, includes discovering naturism by stumbling across a beach and witnessing naturists having fun. If you have an unintended experience with naturism, you may have known beforehand that naturists are out there in America, but you didn’t realize a place where naturism is legal and socially acceptable was near you. Many questions are likely bouncing around your mind like When did that start? Why would people do that? Is that not wrong in some way? From where do people get the courage? What about the children?
because of your limited experience with naturism and you are looking for a trusted source for answers.
This book will answer those questions. The following pages are some evidence that clearly and convincingly weighs in favor of practicing naturism as a social activity. The evidence will introduce you to various parts of the naturist community. As a naturist-curious reader, your role is to be the judge and jury: weigh the credibility of the sources and determine whether I have met the burden of proof and have I overcome your objections enough to give social naturism a try. Are you willing to be impartial? Can you put aside your preconceived notions to consider the evidence I present in favor of naturism? Would you give this idea the benefit of the doubt long enough to try it, like Sam-I-Am so frequently requested. If the answer to those questions is yes, join me as I explain why the answer to the above question of would you try naturism should also be a resounding yes.³
If I convince you in the following pages and you are persuaded to participate in social naturism for yourself, you will feel the freedom described in this book, like I did when I gave social naturism a first try. After you try naturism at a naturist place, you may feel the desire to share your first experience too. Naturists are waiting to meet you at your local naturist place.
¹ For some, this book will water the seed of the idea to try naturism and you will be persuaded to act on what you read by visiting a naturist place; for others, this book will be the seed of the idea to try naturism and you will learn the benefits, even if you still hold tightly to the unique objection that you have. What you will not be able to say after you finish reading this book is I did not know because no one told me the benefits of naturism.
² The reason for two visits to one naturist place will be explained later; just know that for now I suggest two visits to one naturist place as your introduction to the naturist community.
³ You can avoid an assertion, but you can never avoid a question
, so I have some questions for you, the naturist-curious reader, to answer throughout this book, starting with the bolded words: personal question. Underlined, italicized questions are for you to ponder. Quoted words in this footnote from Dan Bongino, It’s On (Episode 1384) from The Dan Bongino Show,

Why this book?
1. EVERY VOICE HAS A VISION
As I experienced the strong desire to tell my closest friends about my first visit to a naturist place, so that they too would want to experience the joy and freedom found at naturist places for themselves, I was looking for a short book to explain naturism in a welcoming way with multiple citations for the statements about the benefits of naturism, yet was aimed at Americans and Christians.
The first issue with many other introductory books focused on Europe and I did not want the introductory book to suggest locations in Europe. Although plenty of locations in Europe exist due to their more relaxed attitude about nudity⁴, because Europe is far away for Americans, I do not want naturism to remain an interesting idea that my friends might try if and only if they decide to visit Europe. I want my friends to know that plenty of naturist places exist in the United States of America, so life can be experienced at naturist places without needing a passport today; tourists worldwide come to vacation at American naturist places. Many Americans have unquestioningly passed down the puritanical mindset about nudity cemented in the Victorian Era: nudity presumptively equals sexuality. Naturism has a history in America worthy of telling.
The second issue with many other introductory books was they contained the unbiblical notion that humans evolved from animals to wear clothes today; that matters because a large minority, if not a slim majority, of Americans believe the biblical truth that God specially created man. People who don’t want to engage with a new idea will look for mistakes in all aspects, especially minor details, as a way to dismiss the entire work and the idea that it pushes. Because the Holy Bible is divinely-inspired, I recognize God created Adam and Eve naked without shame. Likewise, I do not want naturism to remain an interesting idea that my friends might try, if and only if, they didn’t believe that naturism is biblically forbidden. I wanted my friends to know that the Holy Bible and naturism are compatible; people who proclaim Jesus Christ is the Son of God participate in naturism even today. Some Christians have believed and taught myths about the human body and many people still believe and teach them by relying more on what tradition says rather than what God has actually said.⁵ Our world would be different if ordinary modern Christians, like the Bereans, studied and applied the Word, not just affirmed what the world has done. True gray areas exist; we must not confuse the grey areas with the black and white ones.
To non-Christian Americans who are reading this book, America’s Christian history and culture is undeniable.⁶ Although you may reject the biblical doctrinal teaching as a matter of personal faith, you use Biblical phrases⁷ and the widespread belief in American culture that naturism is wrong is supposedly found in the Bible. This book provides you the information to correct cultural myth that the Bible forbids naturism.
Naturism is NOT salvation and does not in any way deal with your relationship with God, as it does not change your heart’s condition in God’s eyes. You must accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior for you to gain entrance into Heaven. One reason why naturism should be embraced is because it not only allows Christians to crucify the teachings of the father of lies, but also because it provides a path for healing because many problems people face today originate from a poor individual self-image and poor self-esteem with the related confidence issues.⁸ Naturism helps fix those issues; crucial to loving yourself is solving internal issues. You must love yourself, so you can love your neighbor as you do yourself just like the Bible directs.
Because of those two issues, I decided to write this book to let my friends know specifically that social naturism is normal because I care about my friends.⁹ This book surveys the backstory of naturism, the advantages of naturism, common criticisms facing this way of life, standards in naturist places, simple steps you can take today, places naturists converge in the United States and it invites you to join us and more authorities beyond the covers of this short book. This book is designed to be a map: so you can read parts or skip sections initially, take what is provided and further research various aspects with the goal of getting you to visit a naturist place twice. If you are just looking for advice before you have your first naturist experience, head to that chapter now and cover the rest at your leisure.
To naturist ambassadors, this book will provide you with a great refresher for why you became a naturist, give points to defend nudism using sources critics trust, encourage you to record your testimony of your first naturist experience and share that experience with people who have not yet experienced the joy of naturism, even if you only share the message of naturism on your personal social media accounts from time to time. Strategies and arguments to share naturism are found throughout this book.¹⁰ Let us close this introduction by defining naturism.

What is naturism?
2. EVERY TEAM HAS PARTICULAR TENETS
Every throng that you count yourself as a member of today has at least one unifying tenet about which all members of the throng agree. Fickle emotions can be the unifying tenet for impulsive, momentary action. Tribes with a skill set as their only unifying tenet hold together as long as interest in the shared hobby remains primary; well-reasoned tenets are easily defended and best suited to last the longest and have a major impact on the world. Unifying tenets can be as simple as the technology you use¹¹, or the leisure venues you visit, or as complex as the religious or political views you hold, or the common history you share. Naturists are like any other group and they too have a unifying tenet, like political and religious platforms; naturism’s organizing principle is a belief, so nudism is open to every individual on earth.
Nudism is the belief that the human body is wholesome and decent; just being nude is not a
