About this ebook

Never Waste a Perfectly Good Crisis.
The virus is real; the response to it is fake. That's the assumption you have to begin with if you want to get to the truth about Covid-19. It was the conclusion Dr. Crossley reached at the start of the pandemic. As an E.R. doctor with over 30 years' experience, what he saw "on the ground" didn't match the official narrative coming from the bureaucrats in charge. They painted a picture of a deadly pathogen that would kill millions. What he was seeing was a handful of Covid patients who were genuinely ill… and thousands who had minimal symptoms, or none at all.
The deception began with the PCR test, which sets a ridiculously high "cycle threshold," virtually guaranteeing millions of false positive results. This gave the Covid "disciples" the chance to massively inflate CNN's running case count.
But case counts are only scary if a lot of people are dying. So, how do you get high case counts AND high death rates? That's easy, call every death a Covid death - car accidents, heart attacks, even dying hospice patients with "do not resuscitate" directives.
One stunning statistic illustrates the magnitude of the deception: the number of flu cases plummeted from 38 million in 2019-20 to a few thousand in 2020-21. Have we eradicated flu, or is flu masquerading as Covid?
Why go to such lengths to make Covid seem more deadly than it really is? One answer is that it gives bureaucrats an excuse to impose punitive lockdowns. Are they justified? You be the judge, but this is the first time in history that healthy people have been quarantined en masse for a disease that poses very little threat to them.
The deception is about more than just statistics. Safe and effective medicines like hydroxychloroquine and Ivermectin were withheld even though they showed real promise as a cure for Covid. Why would you do that? Could it be that there are those among us who don't want this pandemic to end?
After shunning safe and effective cures, the authorities chose to promote an experimental vaccine instead. The mRNA vaccine is unlike any vaccine we've seen before. It uses gene-altering technology to enlist our own cellular machinery to replicate the spike protein that is the cause of severe Covid disease.
In spite of the vaccine's radical nature, it was rushed to production in less than a year, completely bypassing the customary 8-13 year trial phase. "Experts" like Dr. Fauci assure us that it's the safest vaccine ever produced. How do they know? You don't get to make statements like that until the end of the clinical trials, and they aren't going to happen. This is a global human experiment, and you and I are the guinea pigs! Deaths from the Covid vaccine have already eclipsed the deaths from all other vaccines for the last 30 years combined, and this may be the tip of the iceberg.
Perhaps the most sinister part of the plan is the push for vaccine passports. There are those who would deny people the right to work, or go to school, or travel, or even buy food if they won't submit to the jab. And it won't end with one or two jabs. The prospect of endless Covid variants will ensure that the pandemic is extended indefinitely while setting the stage for unlimited boosters.
In this book, Dr. Crossley looks at everything from mask effectiveness to mRNA vaccines. He compares the Covid pandemic to the Bubonic Plague of the 1300s and the Influenza pandemic of 1918. He uses simple analogies to explain such concepts as "cycle thresholds," which are essential to understanding the pandemic. His hope is to give you a peek into what life is like in the trenches of the Covid Wars, separate fact from fiction, and arm you with information to help you navigate the challenging days ahead.

    Introduction:

Never Waste a Perfectly Good Crisis

Okay, so the title of the book is a little melodramatic.

Yes, I’m an ER doctor, and technically, that puts me on the front lines of the battle with Covid.

But that’s where comparisons with the Great War end.¹ It’s not like I’m huddling in a trench, contending with foot rot, mortars, mustard gas, and the like.

That being said, we are in a war, and since the media seem determined to convince us that Covid is the end of civilization as we know it, I thought it not inappropriate to engage in a little hyperbole of my own.

My position (here in the trenches) has granted me a rather unique perspective on this soap opera of a pandemic.

And it is a soap opera. It’s a production. It’s so scripted that it’s often difficult to tell what’s real and what’s propaganda.

I’m not saying the virus isn’t real, or that it’s not dangerous. It is real and it’s killed people. For those who’ve lost someone to Covid, it’s very real and very personal. My heart goes out to you.

But a stone-cold killer? Not by a long shot. Compared with real pros like the Bubonic plague or Spanish flu, this virus is a novice; a lightweight. The Bubonic plague was responsible for the deaths of 25 to 50 million people in the 14th century, and the Spanish flu pandemic of 1918 resulted in 50 to 100 million casualties. Even if we accept the grossly inflated official Covid death toll of 4 million, in a world with almost 8 billion people, Covid isn’t even a contender.² In more normal times, Covid would have gone down as an insignificant also-ran in the footnotes of history.

But these are not normal times. Nothing about this pandemic is normal. And none of it makes sense unless you recognize that it really isn’t about the virus. It never was. It’s about the mileage that can be gained from exploiting the virus.

Covid is, after all, just a cold. Well, technically, it’s a coronavirus, but we know it better by its more common name—the common cold. True, this one seems to come with a little added special sauce (courtesy of Wuhan, China), but in the end, it’s still just a cold. We’ll discuss more about what makes Covid-19 different from the many other strains in the coronavirus family, but nothing about it justifies the draconian measures taken to contain it.

Unfortunately, the politicians and the media have done a good job of making sure we only get the official side of the story. That often makes it difficult to separate fact from fiction.

Which is why I’m writing this book.

I’ve been treating Covid patients for over a year now. The experience has granted me certain insights into this pandemic which may not be obvious to someone who isn’t in the medical field. One thing that quickly became clear to me was that many of the measures taken to deal with this crisis have absolutely no basis in science—or even common sense.

I began to smell a rat when I realized that what I was hearing from those in positions of power didn’t gel with what I was seeing with my patients. The politicians were painting a picture of a deadly pathogen that was going to kill millions and were leveraging that fear to justify punitive lockdowns. What I was seeing were a handful of patients who were genuinely ill, but an overwhelming majority who had minimal, or no symptoms at all. Of the thousands of patients who came to our emergency room in the early phase of the pandemic, I would estimate that about half tested positive for the virus. Of that group, I personally had three patients who required hospitalization.

In short—from my vantage point, the reaction to the threat was way out of proportion to the threat itself.

    And that was concerning.

It begs the question, why? Why make a virus appear to be more dangerous that it really is? And why leverage the fear to impose oppressive sanctions that inflicted misery on millions?

The inescapable conclusion is that the powers that be had some other agenda than mere concern for the public welfare. They were pushing the virus to further their own ends. As one politician infamously said, about Covid: This would be a terrible crisis to waste.³ It was a rare moment of candor in what was otherwise a carefully crafted web of deceit. For those of us whose lives have been turned upside-down by this pandemic, statements like that seem very much like rubbing salt into a very tender wound.

I’m writing this book in hopes that I might shed some light on the events that have brought us to this point. I’m writing it in response to the many patients, family members, and friends who have come to me with concerns about everything from tests to treatments to vaccines. I’m writing it as a doctor who’s been living in the trenches of this pandemic, but who has enough medical knowledge to know when we’re being gaslighted by those in authority.

My Journey to the Front Lines

Let me tell you a little about the journey that led me to the emergency room.

I grew up in England and immigrated to the United States at the age of 23. Before leaving the UK, I had no medical training, or even any leanings toward medicine. In fact, when I left, I was a law school dropout.

It wasn’t that I didn’t enjoy studying the law; I actually found it fascinating. I think it was just that I was more in love with the principles of justice than with the actual practice of law. I just couldn’t picture myself being a lawyer (or maybe I couldn’t picture myself in the white curly wig that barristers have to wear in the UK!).

Whatever the reason, when I got to America and started a degree in biology, I knew I’d found a home. Learning about the human body was exhilarating. I knew that medicine was something I could put my heart into. It may sound trite, but the thought of being a healer was something that very much appealed to me.

    And no curly wigs!

I’d like to say that I planned on emergency medicine as a specialty, but the truth is, I more or less fell into it. Match Day arrived in the fourth year of medical school, and I still wasn’t sure what specialty I wanted to pursue.⁴ By chance, Texas Tech University in El Paso announced at the time that they were opening the first emergency medicine residency in Texas and were looking for applicants to fill the spots. I hadn’t considered a career in the ER to that point, but something about it just seemed right. My wife and I loaded our three children into our minivan and made the long trek across Texas from Galveston to El Paso.

It was one of the better decisions I’ve made.

The emergency department is an interesting place, although it isn’t always the hotbed of drama some people think it is. Much of what we do can be quite mundane. This is especially true of my current place of work. After spending most of my career in high-acuity ERs, I’ve spent the last few years in more sedate settings. I’ve had my fill of the adrenaline rush; this allows me to slow down a bit while still doing something that I love. It also gives me more time to spend with patients. Be that as it may, we have no control over what comes through the door, and in the middle of treating sore throats and sprained ankles, it’s not unusual for someone to stagger in, clutching his or her chest, on the verge of cardiac arrest. You never know what each day’s going to bring.
