About this ebook
The Seeker has grown up in a world where deliberate physical contact is a crime, and for most of her life, it hasn't bothered her. But when some of her classmates are arrested for touching, she decides to try the most forbidden of things and touch another person. When she discovers the power of touching, and how it changes her and those around her, will the Seeker be content to return to a life without it?

About the Author
PREFACE
I wrote the first edition of this book in 2015, long before the COVID-19 pandemic, mask mandates, and social distancing. Back then, I had no idea what the future had in store for us.
When I wrote this play, I was in a dark place. Thankfully, a lot has changed for me since then. Still, I know many people can relate to the feelings expressed in this book. If you are depressed, isolated, suicidal, and/or in danger of hurting yourself, please seek professional help. You are worth it.
This play deals with themes of pandemics, viruses, diseases, social distancing and isolation, book banning, and other (unfortunately) timely topics. If you are sensitive to any of these subjects, reader discretion is advised.
Other content warnings include violence, sexual content, policing and mentions of imprisonment, addiction, arson, and more. Again, reader discretion is advised.
CHARACTERS
The Cured—a former physical affection addict, she has been through rehabilitation and serves as the voice of reason; the Seeker’s mother
The Seeker—a beautiful young woman who has known nothing more than an accidental touch
The Addict—a blind woman strung out on physical affection, rotting in the streets
The Dealer—the self-proclaimed Hug Dealer,
one of the best in the business, a charismatic man
The Enforcer—a mature man set in his ways, brainwashed by traditional values; fooled by the Dealer’s charm and manipulation
PLACE
A city like any other, bustling and a little dirty.
TIME
The near future—or, perhaps, an
