    SCENE ONE : THE CELL

By the hour, I grow eager.

I close my eyes tighter and tighter attempting to ease my anxiety while attempting to sleep,

    but I can do neither.

Faint lights pierce through the bars of my cell, like the shining of a flashlight through the holes where you would insert the laces of a shoe.

I anxiously await my trial date, hoping my case is the next one in queue.

Throughout the years, I was able to periodically erase the horrors of that night through vigorous reading.

However, I was unable to delete the emotion I experienced that night. Even though it has been a couple years, my feelings were not depleting.

My lawyer constantly tells me, Take the plea, this is a case you are not beating.

I presume my innocence. My fight for justice is not ceasing.

I am haunted by my past demons.

Every night, I tumultuously awaken after dreaming,

    sweating, and heavily breathing.

Haunted by repetitive images of myself walking in a dark gothic styled hallway holding two swords that is dripping, like the drool from the mouth of a baby teething.

I stumble over two women and two men that lie motionless on the cobblestoned floor bleeding.

What did she put in my head that caused me to go on a killing spree?

I asked myself that question many times. And then, I remembered the reason.

I am a former psychologist who was unknowingly placed in a state of regressive hypnosis.

She persuaded me to kill my wife who were amongst two deceased women and three deceased men.

I caught them having an orgy in my master-bedroom. I stabbed them again… and again!

Through hypnosis, she mesmerized me by swinging this pendulum; but I got the blame for the murder instead.

I went upstairs and found my wife with her legs spread.

Between her legs was another woman’s head.

In her mouth was a man’s penis.

This man also had a penis in both his mouth and his anus.

This causing me to commit a crime the media describes as brutal, and heinous.

During the time, all I seen was red… and heard voices that uttered,

Aim for the head! Kill them! I want them all dead!

And I sat in the hallway in a trance, as they all bled.

SCENE TWO: AUGUST 4, 2008 THE TRIAL DAY ONE

DISTRICT ATTORNEY:  Ladies and gentlemen of the jury there is evidence that proves the accused was not in a state of duress during the commission of these crimes. Your honor, I would like to present these documents to the jury that further attests through education and professional employment the accused is a well-educated psychologist. He holds a P.H.D. in psychology. On the night of the murders, he walks into the front door of his mansion with a young woman named Melissa Clay, an intern at his firm. They go into a bedroom on the ground-floor. This bedroom was designated as an office in his home. These are the photos taken of the master bedroom and the office. As you see, this is the office at his home. There are degrees hanging on the walls. There is a desk in the room with a name plate that says his name Dr. Lance Andrews. Dr. Lance Andrews closes the door to the office. Both Melissa Clay and Dr. Lance Andrews sit at opposite ends of his desk. Prior to them entering the office there were two large wine-styled glasses filled with a clear liquid sitting on the desk. They both drank from their glass multiple times until the glasses were empty. They sit and converse for approximately an hour. Melissa Clay removes a necklace from around her neck. Melissa Clay swings the necklace back and forth in front of Dr. Andrew’s face. Dr. Lance Andrews head fails to move from side to side and it is apparent he is incoherent and cannot follow the movement of the necklace with his head. Dr. Lance Andrews then gets up from his desk. He starts walking toward the door of the office staggering. Dr. Lance Andrews reaches into his pockets. A set of car keys falls on the ground. Melissa Clay bends over grabs the car keys and places them into her pocket. He gets near Melissa Clay and wrestles with her firmly grabbing onto her waist. Melissa Clay tries to break free from Dr. Andrew’s firm clench. She then nears his ear and clenches onto it with her teeth for about three seconds. Blood drips from Dr. Lance Andrew’s ear as she frees herself from the hold. She runs out the door, enters his car, and drives off. Dr. Andrews re-enters his office. He reaches for two antique swords hanging from the walls and removing them from their sheaths. He walks up the spiral staircase leading to the top floor. He walks down the long gothic styled hallway. He enters the master bedroom. One of the victims was found beheaded. One of the victims were strangled to death. The others suffered a cut on their throats. They loss a tremendous amount of blood in a matter of minutes and died. When police arrived, they discovered Dr. Lance Andrews sitting in the long gothic styled hallway in a dissolved state of mind bearing two swords-one in each hand. Heavy amounts of blood were found on the blades of the swords. Ladies and gentlemen of
