The Decline of America - H. Wayne White

    Prologue

My goal in writing this book is to awaken the people to an extremely dangerous cancer that is spreading through America. This cancer has already had a devastating effect on one of the freest and most economically successful countries the world has ever known. This political cancer, and its advocates, are hell-bent on destroying this country. The cancer I speak of is Communism, a political system that has shown no success anywhere in the world. Communism has caused the death of more individuals than any other political system in world history. It has enslaved more people than any political system in history. Proponents of Communism cannot point to a single success, yet they spin a narrative of idealism and utopian socialism to attract the young and naïve. They do not seek to improve our nation; they seek to consolidate their power as the rulers of the people. Followers of this political system seem oblivious to the truth. They seem as blinded as people in a cult. Their slavish devotion to this corrupt ideology reminds me of the Jonestown mass suicide. Cults are insidious and consuming, and victims of cults often require deprogramming. Communism is a dangerous cult. It eliminates its opposition, either by taking their lives or destroying their reputation.

I believe these followers are misguided and misinformed; they don't know what they don't know. They are unaware that Communism destroys its host nation the same way cancer destroys its host body. That is the truth of this evil and destructive political system. We will look at the rise of Communism in America and discuss how it has infiltrated every aspect of the American power structure. Hopefully, I'll shed light on how we got to this point.

Why is America, undoubtedly one of the greatest countries ever to exist, being destroyed? How can the progressive left promote Communism? They may call it by another name—democratic socialism, Marxism, liberalism—but regardless, they are all promoting the growth of Communism. Ask any advocate of this radical ideology that if their system is so great, why are people not flocking to it? Why are they forced to stay? Why are they fleeing if they can? If America is so bad, why do millions want to come here? If American is so bad, why aren't they, advocates of Communism, leaving for Venezuela, Russia, or any of the myriad of other failed Communist countries? Why aren't they building rafts for the ninety-mile float to Cuba, that paragon of Communism?

This book is meant to educate, inform, and offer ammunition for those who come up against these radical communists who cannot speak with truth because theirs is a flawed argument. Once you've read the book, I will leave it to you to judge its accuracy and to decide for yourself where we go from here.

If you read this book and think other people should have the information contained in it, pass it on. Due to the rampant censorship of conservative voices today, these voices are being silenced, so if you find a place to get the book you may wish to get more than one and give it to a friend. There may not be many places you will be able to get it with today's censorship.

Because of the times we live in and the honest but conservative nature of the information in this book, much of the success that it may or may not have will depend on people who do read it encouraging other people to read it, regardless of their political beliefs. An even better way to get more eyes on it will be to buy more than one copy and physically put it in the hands of other people. It will be in audio as well.

    Communism/Marxism

    The 45 Communist Goals

From the Congressional Record in 1963:

Current Communist Goals, Extension of Remarks of Hon. A. S. Herlong, Jr. of Florida, in the House of Representatives on Thursday, January 10, 1963.

Mr. HERLONG: Mr. Speaker, Mrs. Patricia Nordman of De Land, Fla., is an ardent and articulate opponent of communism, and until recently published the De Land Courier, which she dedicated to the purpose of alerting the public to the dangers of communism in America. At Mrs. Nordman's request, I include in the RECORD, under unanimous consent, the following Current Communist Goals, which she identifies as an excerpt from The Naked Communist, by Cleon Skousen: [From The Naked Communist, by Cleon Skousen]

U.S. acceptance of coexistence as the only alternative to atomic war.

U.S. willingness to capitulate in preference to engaging in atomic war.

Develop the illusion that total disarmament [by] the United States would be a demonstration of moral strength.

Permit free trade between all nations regardless of Communist affiliation and regardless of whether or not items could be used for war.

Extension of long-term loans to Russia and Soviet satellites.

Provide American aid to all nations regardless of Communist domination

Grant recognition of Red China. Admission of Red China to the U.N.

Set up East and West Germany as separate states in spite of Khrushchev's promise in 1955 to settle the German question by free elections under supervision of the U.N.

Prolong the conferences to ban atomic tests because the United States has agreed to suspend tests as long as negotiations are in progress.

Allow all Soviet satellites individual representation in the U.N.

Promote the U.N. as the only hope for mankind. If its charter is rewritten, demand that it be set up as a one-world government with its own independent armed forces. (Some Communist leaders believe the world can be taken over as easily by the U.N. as by Moscow. Sometimes these two centers compete with each other as they are now doing in the Congo.)

Resist any attempt to outlaw the Communist Party.

Do away with all loyalty oaths.

Continue giving Russia access to the U.S. Patent Office.

Capture one or both of the political parties in the United States.

Use technical decisions of the courts to weaken basic American institutions by claiming their activities violate civil rights.

Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers' associations. Put the party line in textbooks.

Gain control of all student newspapers.

Use student riots to foment public protests against programs or organizations which are under Communist attack.

Infiltrate the press. Get control of book-review assignments, editorial writing, policy-making positions.

Gain control of key positions in radio, TV, and motion pictures.

Continue discrediting American culture by degrading all forms of artistic expression. An American Communist cell was told to eliminate all good sculpture from parks and buildings, substitute shapeless, awkward and meaningless forms.

Control art critics and directors of art museums. Our plan is to promote ugliness, repulsive, meaningless art.

Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them censorship and a violation of free speech and free press.

Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio, and TV.

Present homosexuality, degeneracy, and promiscuity as normal, natural, healthy.

Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with social religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity, which does not need a religious crutch.

Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in the schools on the ground that it violates the principle of separation of church and state.

Discredit the American Constitution by calling it inadequate, old-fashioned, out of step with modern needs, a hindrance to cooperation between nations on a worldwide basis.

Discredit the American Founding Fathers. Present them as selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the common man.

Belittle all forms of American culture and discourage the teaching of American history on the ground that it was only a minor part of the big picture. Give more emphasis to Russian history since the Communists took over.

Support any socialist movement to give centralized control over any part of the culture—education, social agencies, welfare programs, mental health clinics, etc.

Eliminate all laws or procedures which interfere with the operation of the Communist apparatus.

Eliminate the House Committee on Un-American Activities.

Discredit and eventually dismantle the FBI.

Infiltrate and gain control of more unions.

Infiltrate and gain control of big business.

Transfer some of the powers of arrest from the police to social agencies. Treat all behavioral problems as psychiatric disorders which no one but psychiatrists can understand [or treat].

Dominate the psychiatric profession and use mental health laws as a means of gaining coercive control over those who oppose Communist goals.

Discredit the family as an institution. Encourage promiscuity and easy divorce.

Emphasize the need to raise children away from the negative influence of parents. Attribute prejudices, mental blocks and retarding of children to suppressive influence of parents.

Create the impression that violence and insurrection are legitimate aspects of the American tradition; that students and special-interest groups should rise up and use [] united force [] to solve economic, political, or social problems.

Overthrow all colonial governments before native populations are ready for self-government.

    Internationalize the Panama Canal.

Repeal the Connally reservation so the United States cannot prevent the World Court from seizing jurisdiction over domestic problems. Give the World Court jurisdiction over nations and individuals alike.

    The Beginning of Communism

    in America

Moving into the 1800s, America was a young country; she was still trying to find herself in an uncharted land. At the same time, across the sea was a young philosopher by name of Karl Marx who had a vision for a perfect world, where people were essentially equal, which is an altruistic vision—a utopia, if you will. He was known as a historian, an economist, and a sociologist. He presents and ideology for an idealized world, that was attractive on paper but proved too complicated to achieve.

Marxism goes against human nature. We are not created equal. Having an equal opportunity is different from being equal. By forcing people to live at the same level, the individual characteristics are muted. A person with a great work ethic and dedication will contribute the fruits of their labor to a lazy or incompetent worker to make their living conditions equal. How long does the person with great earning potential want to continue working hard to supplement those who will not? If we lived a life where everyone operated on the idea that we are equal, there would be no impetus for invention or change. People would live without seeking achievement. They will only do as much as they must in order to get by and no more. Without the reward of achievement, then I am afraid we would still be living in caves.

Karl Marx's ideas appealed to many people, and it is attractive. Human nature being what it is, some people saw it as a way to control others for personal gain and profit ... human nature at work. Marxism, and its siblings, Socialism and Communism, benefit the leaders who consolidate power and grow personal wealth. Nowhere in the world has it served the masses. The people become more impoverished as the leaders gain wealth and power. This is a story of how these ideologies took hold in America.

Throughout this book, you will hear me talk about Communism while the troublemakers talk about Marxism. While the two ideologies are related, there is a difference. Why do we not find countries today calling themselves Marxist, but rather they refer to themselves as Communist. What is the difference?

The short version is that Karl Marx thought that capitalism would transform into socialism and that would naturally grow into Communism over time. Lenin, on the other hand, understood that only revolution would accomplish socialism that could then be turned into Communism that owned the means of major production. In other words, a State-run society where all productions (jobs), information, and education were controlled by the state. A Marxist believes in a natural progression from capitalism to Communism. A Leninist (Communist) believes in revolution to force capitalism into Communism. A Communist understands that to speak of violent revolution is to paint a warning for the society it intends to overthrow, so it is better to claim Marxism. When people term themselves as Marxist, do not be fooled, they are in fact Communists and believe in revolution and Communism.

The Communists were working in the US as early as the 1900s. They were even being investigated by the Bureau of Investigation which was established in 1908. The Bureau later became the FBI, so at its inception, the FBI was already monitoring Communist groups.

In 1917, Lenin successfully seized control of Soviet Russia after the Russian Revolution. In America at that time, the government mandated the Bureau to go after violators of the Espionage Act of 1917. The targets were primarily Communist sympathizers, Communist activists, and anarchists. Following Lenin’s successful overthrow of the Russian government, the Communists in America were emboldened. They operated in small groups and were scattered in several states, working as one mind, well-funded, growing, and getting coordinated.

As with many new organizations, there were conflicts of leadership and direction. According to Jacob Zumoff’s The Communist International and US Communism, 1919–1929, the worldwide Communist International, better known as Comintern, was working on organizing groups around the world after the successful revolution in Russia. The Communist Party of the United States was formed, CPUSA. There were distinct groups within the party. One problem for CPUSA was that there were so many immigrants speaking different languages, the party had trouble uniting a single core organization, something it desperately needed to do and finally accomplished around 1919 to 1920. Another early conflict between the Comintern and the local CPUSA was whether or not to support World War I.

Due in part to the success of the revolution in Russia, there were enormous worker strikes throughout the United States. This excited the socialists and drove fear into the capitalists, thinking a Russian-style revolution may be on the horizon in America. At that time, the American system was sound enough to withstand that.

The Communist International Third Congress in 1921 was interested in expanding its influence in America. Lenin wanted more control in trade unions. However, America was waking up to the threat of Communism. The Bureau continued with more investigation and actions taken on groups affiliated with Communists. The Palmer Raids were carried out from November 1919 to January 1920. These raids took place under the Woodrow Wilson Justice Department under the leadership of Attorney General Mitchel Palmer. The purpose was to capture and arrest immigrants suspected of being Communists or anarchists. They were aggressive, with some 3,000 arrests. CPUSA had effectively overshadowed the Socialist Party after 1921. In 1912 the Socialist Party had nearly a million followers. In just two decades, it had lost a considerable number of members to the more authoritarian influence of the Communist Party, with the help of the Soviet Union, as pointed out in Mission From Moscow: American Communism In The 1930s, by Gary Gerstle.

It was during this time, with the help of the Comintern, that the US Communist Party became bold enough to go mainstream and emerge from hiding. They made great strides in the American Communist Party during and after the Great Depression, by going from straight out recruiting to union building and participation increased memberships. Becoming involved in the struggles of the worker and union building gained the party credibility and influence. This is well documented in Burt Cochran's book, Labor and Communism: The Conflict That Shaped American Unions. Prior to this, during the Fourth Congress in Moscow in 1922, Alexander Bittelman and James Cannon, both party leaders from the United States, had a meeting with Leon Trotsky. Trotsky ideologically was a Communist who later developed variation of Marxism that was known as Trotskyism. He was also involved in the failed Russian Revolution of 1905. The two American leaders wanted to get Trotsky’s support to form a legal party in America. The American Commission of the Communist Inter-national soon adopted the idea.

Becoming a legal party brought more attention to Communism in America, also some credibility. Still looking for ways to disrupt the country, the 1928 Six Congress of the Comintern was trying to figure out how to best use the Negro question. Senator Katayama, a Japanese Communist with a Southern background, was extremely vocal about using blacks to create a revolutionary party by demanding their own statehood separate from American control. This was also being pushed by Comintern.

During this meeting, Lenin argued for this, stating, Negros were an oppressed nation deserving of self-determination and independence from the US. Most black people in America understood they were not oppressed by nationality but by race and were only looking for full and equal integration in the American system. This nation theory fit Stalin's idea of tearing down a country by dividing it. His two-stage theory, a national revolution, second a socialist one, and then of course a Negro Soviet Republic. The result of the 1928 Six Congress was that this never happened, people of all races could see the flaw in it.

The year 2019 marked a century since the founding of the Communist Party USA, which makes it the oldest socialist organization in the United States. We have been battling the scourge of Communism since before 1917, when
