I love this book.

Both practical and entertaining... it demonstrates that the secret to good golf is sometimes backing off from your game and having fun with it.

With so much emphasis on the technical aspects of golf, it was enlightening to read a book that was able to penetrate the real heart of the matter. Having competed on the highest level of the sport, I felt as if the author had actually accompanied me on my quest for excellence... The lessons Enhager offers... are those which have enabled me to excel at the game.
—Jane Blalock
LPGA Champion
The most refreshing book on golf I have read... Presents sound instruction without once going into detail about the mechanics of the swing... Enhager’s method eliminates the analysis paralysis that affects most golfers... I tried Enhager’s advice about holding at the finish. It worked wonderfully—especially in competition. I think QUANTUM GOLF will be a book that every golfer will enjoy and keep in their library for constant reference for years to come.
—JoAnne Carner
LPGA Champion
Interesting... enjoyable ... the teaching concepts are completely valid. Definitely worth picking up.
—Jim Flick, Teaching Professional
The Golf Club at Desert Mountain
A highly entertaining fable containing advice that is both profoundly simple and simply profound—advice that will improve your golf game but can also be applied to life.
—Willis Harman
author of Global Mind Change
The message of Quantum Golf is the ideal medicine... it goes beyond the mechanics of the game to the power of human consciousness.
—Larry Dossey, M.D.
author of Recovering the Soul, and Space, Time, & Medicine
An extremely entertaining and enlightening book that reveals the real magic of a great athlete... Unveiled here is the magic that lies in the power of our own consciousness.

FOREWORD
A Personal Note from Kjell
I am so happy that my dear friends Keith and Samantha Wallace agreed to co-author a new edition of Quantum Golf. As a respected research scientist and award-winning professor, Dr. Wallace made it possible to integrate the grand old game of golf with the most profound insight of our age, the Quantum paradigm. And just as he has been my student in golf, I have studied his pioneering work on the neurophysiology of consciousness, which has provided the basis for key concepts in this book. Dr. Wallace in turn gives all credit to the founder of the Transcendental Meditation program, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, and his discussions with top physicists for many of the original ideas. If this book gives you pleasure as well as information, it is because of Samantha Wallace’s skills as a writer and storyteller. Her warmth and humor are on every page.
This 2nd edition of Quantum Golf tells the same story, but with valuable additional golf instruction inspired by my work with Sir Nick Faldo.

Prologue
Glinting in the sun, the polished steel shaft of the golf club turned lazily, end on end against the blue sky. At its highest point it appeared to be in slow motion when it was actually traveling at an enormous velocity.
That’s it!
J.P. Smith screamed hoarsely. I quit!
He scooped up his expensive golf bag and held it over his head, like an aging Conan the Barbarian.
C’mon, J.P.,
urged his golf partner, who also happened to be his head accountant, you don’t really mean that.
Oh, yeah?
Smith stalked down the slope of the green and stopped beside a deep water hazard.
I can’t play golf without clubs!
he bellowed, heaving the bag along with thirteen remaining clubs into the pond. As if a depth charge had exploded, a spume of water rose into the air.
That’s that,
growled Smith, and started up the hill for the clubhouse. If you want a guy who can engineer a corporate takeover, I’m your man. If you want a guy who can beat the stock market, I’m your man. But if you want someone who can hit a little white ball, don’t call me.
He was trembling as he staggered into the club. After lessons at the greatest golf schools in America and thousands of dollars spent on hand-crafted, counter-weighted clubs constructed of space age materials, in the end it all came down to hitting a little white ball.
He made it back to his locker before slumping down on a bench and burying his face in his hands. Moisture, which could as easily have been perspiration as tears of frustration, leaked between his fingers.
John?
He heard his name and felt someone sit beside him. It was Herbert Wooly, the club pro, a wiry, wise and tested veteran of the links.
Smith’s face remained buried in his hands. Can’t do it, Herb,
he said. I’m givin’ up.
Herb tried to soothe him. I understand how you feel, J.P.
He paused… But there’s something I want to tell you. You have a great enthusiasm for the game, maybe a little too much. Anyway, I think you’ve finally reached a place where you are ready to accept a tip I’ve only ever given twice before. I wouldn’t suggest it now, except that you’re so desperate. Now maybe you’ll listen.
Curious in spite of himself, Smith asked dispiritedly, What is it?
Go to Iowa.
Raising his head, Smith turned wild eyes on the wizened pro. Iowa?
He banged his fist into the locker. My life is coming apart! For the first time since I could tie my own shoes I’ve failed completely, and you’re talking to me about Iowa?
There’s a great teacher out there.
Where?
Smith demanded in an acerbic voice, in the cornfields? Come on, I’ve had the best teachers money can buy.
I know, I know. You’ve had the best conventional teachers. This guy is a world apart.
Yeah, he’s in another world, all right,
said Smith. Iowa.
The pro pressed on. I guarantee it’s worth making the trip. I said that there are only two other people I’ve ever mentioned this to, and one of them had the good sense to fly to Iowa to see this teacher. The man went from a fifteen handicap to scratch.
Humph, what about the other guy?
He never went,
Herb said sadly, but he should have.
He waited a moment before continuing, Look, John, this guy has a new approach to the game. It’s more profound than anything I’ve ever heard of, and I’m convinced that he can help anyone at any level. I know he can help you. He teaches something called Quantum Golf.
Quantum Golf?
The man nodded. Quantum Golf.
What’s that even supposed to mean?
Don’t ask me,
Herb replied. Ask him.
What’s his name?
Linc St. Clair.
Smith looked at the pro. How come I’ve never heard of him?
he asked suspiciously,
Herb shrugged. He’s kind of a recluse. Lives on a farm outside a little town called Fairfield. He runs the farm himself and teaches a few of the top touring pros on the side.
Smith’s eyes narrowed. If he’s so good, why is he still out in the sticks?
He won’t leave.
Herb smiled. He calls it heaven on earth.
Smith snorted.
After another long silence, Herb asked, Will you see him?
In lowa? You’ve got to be kidding!
CHAPTER 1
FRAME OF MIND: THE QUANTUM WORLD
The shiny white corporate Lear jet squealed as it landed, skidding lightly heading towards a cornfield at the extreme end of the short runway. At the last second before a dozen rows of corn were harvested early, the pilot slowed the plane sufficiently to return its nose to the runway, aiming straight to what passed for a hangar in the little airport.
Told you we’d make it!
John Smith called heartily to his two-person crew.
An old yellow Chevy in excellent condition, with the words FAIRFIELD TAXI stenciled in red across its front doors, waited beside the hangar.
Smith climbed down from the plane, muttering under his breath. Only transportation in town is this one-horse taxi service. Whoever heard of this place?
He got into the cab to discover that the driver was a red-haired woman. She turned her fiery head to face him and gave him a homey smile.
Where to?
she asked.
The golf club,
said Smith in his usual commanding voice.
She revved the engine. Which one?
Are you telling me that there’s more than one?
There are three here in Fairfield,
she said in a bored voice. Take your pick.
He glared at her. I’m looking for Linc St. Clair,
he growled.
Do you want to go to his home or the club?
The club,
said Smith. But,
he paused, drive me by his home first.
Whenever possible, he found it informative to appraise people’s homes before meeting them. He leaned back against the vinyl car seat as they passed fields of corn alternating with soybeans, and farmhouses whose weathered barns were surrounded by mud-yards that seemed universally populated with pigs. Or were they hogs? Smith had no idea what the difference was, but the creatures appeared omnipresent. Iowa was a far cry from Manhattan.
The taxi pulled onto a gravel road. Tall trees led up a hill where centennial oaks allowed only glimpses of a large brick house. Smith could only make out its general shape and some of its Victorian trim.
The driver nodded. There it is.
Uh, can’t we get a closer look?
he asked.
She eyed him in her rearview mirror. Maybe.
She turned the steering wheel to the right and they slowly climbed
