ELDRITCH NIGHTMARES provides different levels of horror for five characters with five drastic takes on dismal endings. The collection opens with a second-person piece, "The Crazy Hag", where the reader follows a girl entering a haggish shopkeeper's antique crystal emporium. With the shopkeeper's unsightly appearance and vomitus ways of tempting the girl with a mysterious crystal, the girl must find a way to escape. The second story enters the world of virtual reality. "Game of Guilt" has rules to follow, but the golden rule: Don't cave to your innermost desires. Roger, a gambling addict, plays a virtual game he thinks he can beat, but there's another aggressive gambler, and their winnings may cost Roger's life. Clarissa and Derek find themselves trapped in an insane asylum with a monster who consumes adulterers in the "Room of Mothercreep". After Derek's skin-tearing death, Clarissa must confront the creature to gain favor and forgiveness. "Hungry Andrew", the fourth story in the collection, encapsulates a cannibalistic young man's search for his next meal. After spotting an athletic young woman at a local park, his hunger grows as he follows her into an empty dance studio. "The Vanity's Reflection" centers around two realities of Shallice and her inner, narcissistic demon, Conquey––the mortal realm and purgatory. She must find her way back to the comforts of her world before Conquey does.
