    Dedication

This book is dedicated to Rev. Dr. Mark T. Oliver of Trinity Baptist Church of Brockton, Massachusett, of whom I was discipled into pastoral ministry . And Rev. Mike Rivera and Rev. Baron Rodrigues who charged me before Christ’s holy angels into the pastoral ministry.

So Jesse sent for him. He was dark and handsome, with beautiful eyes. And the Lord said, ‘This is the one; anoint him.’ So as David stood there among his brothers, Samuel took the flask of olive oil he had brought and anointed David with the oil. And the Spirit of the Lord came powerfully upon David from that day on. Then Samuel returned to Ramah (1 Samuel 16:12-13).

I’d like to thank all the staff at Trilogy Publishing for their help and support in helping me to create and publish my dream book. Prologue

Have you ever sought the courage to face life’s trials? Have you ever felt like you were too far away from God because the distress of life was hindering your blessings? Journey with me to hear the echoes of the timber wolf and hear the voice that encouraged David to be a mighty warrior, and King. Learn how the anointing of Samuel gave David the staying power he needed, how King Saul’s relentless pursuit of him made him who he became: the legendary King of Israel. The scene is old Palestine. Among the poor of the people, a nation with grand history, and the creator of the world as their God. The issue at hand is the desire and need for a King. And the answer is God’s selection of David as King.

    Preface

The Echoes of the Timber Wolf came into being when I was homeless, and God used the appearance of a wolf to encourage me and bring me to new heights of spirituality. I wrote this book because I’ve always been fascinated with David. Since I’ve read so much about him over the years, I decided I would write some of my own thoughts of him, seeing that he is such an important person, in history and in the biblical text. My hope is that you would enjoy learning about such a legendary man and servant of God.

    Foreword

I have known Jean Belizaire for 17 years. We have served in church ministry together. From the time I met him, it was clear that Jean’s main desire was to help others learn about the forgiveness of God in Jesus Christ, as well as the deep truths of God’s desire for each person. This study in the life of King David is only an extension of that desire. The author reminds us that David was made strong through his troubles.

We all have troubles that must be navigated from which we must learn about God and ourselves. This is why David is so fascinating to many of us. We each can identify with his failures as well as his struggles, and Jean is no exception. Many of his insights in this book come from his own struggles.

As Jean learns from his study of life with the life and heart of David as a guide , he now turns and shares it with us. In the end, David grows through his weakness. And in prayer, finds courage to put God first. He finds his way to be more concerned about the fame of God.May we all, through our own failures and troubles, find our way to that same heart.

    Introduction

King David’s story is a story that legends are made of, from his journey as a poor shepherd’s boy tending the sheep in the blazing heat of Palestine land and to his defeat of a Nephilim hybrid of a man that stood nine feet and nine inches tall named Goliath of Gath, to gaining the confidence of his people being a representative of the poor and disinherited,to being hounded in a massive manhunt by a jealous and delusional king.

To the treachery of adultery and a murder to cover up his sins, to being a man after Gods own heart, and to a curse that would never leave his home. David is the most complex and incongruous man in the pages of the Bible yet: still beloved of God. Come
