    Stop exploiting my mother, you bitch

    She sat back and stared at the laptop screen, wondering if the last part was too much. It probably was. But maybe that was a good thing. The message needed to be short and to the point. This woman needed to know that some people saw right through her stupid shenanigans.

    Mabel leaned forward and started to scroll through her mother’s messages.

    Jesus Christ, she whispered. There were rows and rows of mails from the same person, each one with the same subject; PsychicGal, Your Personal Spiritual Guide.

    She clicked on one of the messages, sent only a day before, but the theme being a recurring one:

    Hey, Matilda!

    I recently saw your soulmate in my dreams. Yes, you! Your karmic energy is really strong and positive because this isn’t the first time either! I really, really want to help you meet him, and I’m willing to take you through the process, guide you in the spiritual realm to connect with him. We do this so that it won’t end up like your ex-husband! You’ll be bonded through nature!

    Jesus Christ, Mabel whispered again. She’d never heard so much bullshit masquerading as sincerity before. She could just picture whoever this PsychicGal was; probably a young twenty-something or thirty-something unemployed woman, typing this out to multiple lonely divorcees, then sitting back and laughing her ass off at her stupid prey.

    ...And I hate to do this, the email continued, but before I can draw you a picture of your soulmate or actually help you two to meet, both spiritually and physically, I need another small fee for my services. I know! This is the
