She continues with her current destiny to save Earth. Meanwhile, in the distant future, on a planet in another galaxy, Finna seeks leadership within in the new species of humanoid, Homo Evolutis, the self-evolving, self-healing, immortal galactic masters of time and space.

BLURB - INTRODUCING FINNA’S REVENGE (FROM BOOK 1)

FLASHBACXK TO BOOK #1 FINNA’S QUEST

Seven Seekers sit around a heavy stone table nestled in the permanent ice of a catcacome under a dozen mountain somewhere in the 23rd century.

The lead mentor for their best time traveling team for historical research, Brother Breylus has returned from his oversight duties with dire news.

He remains standing and speaks without interrupting their meal. "Brothers, and esteemed Father. I am sorry to be the carrier of sad news. Our best Field team’s and our top field researcher, Dr. Aaron Edelman’s and his host, a local warrior in the current Crusade attempted his first try at being the first Christian to scale Jerusalem’s wall has mysteriously died during the assault on Jerusalem. My team believes the host had some variation of a stroke that made the Host’s mind for the scheduled Glean to break down. The good news is History has already recorded the Host’s achievement in the Time Line as the First Christian to scale Jerusalem’s walls. His name is Leeth Letholdus."

The oldest Seeker, Father Horace, whose age remains unknown to all, stood and addressed the rest of the Seekers who continued eating cold stew and drinking-warm beer in their own voice with anger and not in the polite variation of mind -speak.

Before we continue Wirth the epic story, the authors recommend you check out the Prologue for information about the levels of Awaking and some details about the process of being an evolving member of the newest human species on Earth, the already named name homo Evolutis.

PROLOGUE BOOK TWO - FINNA’S REVENGE - OVERVIEW

    Book 2 - Finna’s Revenge

Finna gave no thought to her unlikely reality as she vized her father from centuries in the future and from galaxies far distant. Her lips stretched into a smile as she watched him go about his daily chores on their family farm. It was all so familiar and comforting after the hair-raising escapades Leeth had led her on. Her service to Queen Eleanor was difficult enough without being kidnapped and dumped in the middle of an intergalactic war.

By God’s Bones! She never wanted to go through that again. She had thought herself a fearless warrior, but there had been too many times that were beyond terrifying. Yasmin’s death trapped by Greek Fire in a cave in Crete and Jamal, along with hundreds of others, hurled into the gravity of the black hole. Her stomach lurched at the memories. She took a deep breath and expelled it and then took another. The images still drove her nightmares.

Finna replaced the horror with better memories as she lay in the grass vizing and day dreaming of the quiet times in her childhood. While her father had raised her on his own, she’d felt no sense of something missing, her mother, for example. She had loved trailing after her father and learning all the skills normally passed on to a son. She was good at them, too. Her father, a former Mason, was exacting in his expectations of her physical prowess. Her archery skills soon became the best. She chucked, then looked around to see if anyone had heard her. They were still better than better than anyone she had ever met.

The fact that she was on the planet Torg on the other side of the galaxy no longer fazed her, nor did the fact that Leeth never quit pushing her to learn new skills. Hmm. New skills and new words. How was a woman from thirteenth century Earth supposed to know what a galaxy was, after all? The concept of repositioning to places you couldn’t even see was ridiculous to her. And time travel. Well, just imagine. She could not, image that is.

And Leeth. What an awful coach. Just do it, he would say. Just do what?

"Think it. You know, in your mind."

Yeah, he was terrible. She’d worked it out, though. Each skill and ability and here she was vizzing her father across space and time. It boggled her mind. She snorted. Another word Leeth had taught her. Leeth was right, her new powers were useful. She snorted. Useful! They were a godsend, time and again.

Initially, Finna hated him for kidnapping her. The fact that he was in no way forthcoming with a reason, didn’t help, either. Over time, though, as he patiently worked with her, she came to understand why he needed to take her. Forgiveness had not come easily, but she had come to like him.

He was tall and strong and a necessary protector. Yes, she liked him. Her lips stretched in an inadvertent smile and she closed her eyes, stretching and enjoying the lazy moment.

She sat up to viz her father for a while longer. She loved watching him. No, it wasn’t as good as being with him but it was good. She watched him go into the small building not much more than a lean-to and waited for him to reappear.

    And she waited.

She extended her viz inside the building yet did not see her father. The thudding in her chest scared her. Of course he was okay, but where was he?

She extended her viz to cover the entire farm. Systematically, she looked every corner of the building and house and then surveyed every field and every bit of land in between. Then she did it again.

Finna was not one to panic, but she panicked now. Her search was thorough. She knew that. She needed to see her father to assure her that he was all right.

Leeth appeared with a soft pop and took her hand. Brother Braylus and I, along with other Seekers know how worried you are. It is bad enough for you to have everyone in the village of Vez’elay inform you he was either killed in the Crusades or captured by the Church that continues to be busy executing Templars and stealing their property. We are putting together a team of Seekers headed by Brother Braylus and me to find your father and if needed, perform a full Redemption. All of us hope you will be on the team as you more than Your father’s rescue and recovery came with some good news but I’m sorry to report, we have bad news as well. While Your father ARN has made some threats and demonstrated some poor judgment in his behavior with the Seekers that have diminished, but not stopped us from our mission to rescue him.

    A NEW EXPERIENCE

    Gleaning with her younger self

The memories of a feudal war, the saving of hundreds of families destined for a crushing death into the fire of a maelstrom, and the thousands of French fighters murdered for their religion, would haunt Finna for centuries. Yet all slowly diminished with new experiences of discovery and the learning of new skills, the search for her father, unexpected alien visitors, and her deepening relationship with Leeth.

Gleaning - a definition : generally thought to be related to classical quantum entanglement. The mind of a host and unseen visitor unite for a shared experience of the host’s life. Time loops can make proximity of multiple presences of the same person. This may be confusing to an outside observer.

Finna shared her fresh gleaning experience of her past life within her younger self with Leeth.

Surprised at not experiencing difficulty, she made the transition to Torg’s timeline on the first try, landing as planned in Leeth’s castle garden. He had told her many times, Imagine or visualize your intention and then will it so. However, she didn’t expect to find her success alone. She sighed and wondered again why she felt tired after three days with no real physical activity and decided to rest and after breaking the glean. She planned to cover herself in the fresh grass by the still warm stone fence. Finna felt sleep closing in and checked the early morning sky. Torg’s two distant moons, a large white one and a smaller, faster red one, gave her a renewed sense of comfort. She closed her eyes. Shit. Sorry, Papa, I’ll not be gleaning tonight.

A hint of sunrise and the call of seabirds brought her to her feet. She liked the idea of being alone after three days rekindling happy memories of her childhood i someone else’s mind, even if it was her own. The days spent watching Papa doing his chores and taking care of her were terrific. From their many chat sessions she learned much about him and filled many gaps about events in their lives that she had almost forgotten. Still, the rich experiences took a toll on her. She didn’t know if her fatigue came from the act of gleaning or her temporary residence within her younger self’s mind. Not too eager to share everything with Leeth, she stretched and spent a few moments to take in the silence of the nearby forest before she turned her thoughts to what she would do today. The Ruins? The beach? Stick Training with Jamal? That could be fun.

The thought of Jamal brought back memories of what seemed like yesterday when she had struggled with him and her comrades to save the lives of nearly a thousand members of the Liberi captured by the Silva in the last battle of a galactic war between two feuding human species. She helped remove surviving Liberia, including children, from the metal coffins Vald and his minions had launched toward the huge Black Hole Vald’s people worshiped in the name of their Silva gods. Warriors and innocents alike were fated to die in an agonizing death of the Black Hole’s crushing gravity. The dark memory of their suffering at the hands of Vald, the evil leader of the Silva, forced Finna’s attention to seek solace elsewhere.

Finna swore the reality of being present on Torg and living with Leeth at his castle would be their time to spend quality time together. While she had tried to forge a life entirely her own, she discovered she spent increasingly more time wondering what a life with Leeth would be like.

The soft pop of his repositioning seemed more than mere coincidence and Leeth approached her with outstretched arms and a sad face. I have something immediately important to share with you.

Thinking she could bring some cheer she ran to him With open arms. I, too, have news. My first gleaning—

He held her head between his hands and brought their foreheads close. Yes, yes, please tell me everything, but first—

She grabbed his wrists. Papa and I—

He stepped back and held her at arm’s length. What the sarding hell, Finna? This is important. Just take a look at this recorded viz the Time Keepers sent moments ago. Then we can sit in the grass by the wall and you can tell me about your father.

She tamped down the hurt she felt and allowed the viz to play in her mind, and narrating what she saw. That looks like Mother standing in a small sphere. She is facing us, yet falling away toward the Black Hole. She inhaled sharply. God’ bones! What the hell is she doing?

Finna watched as the small transparent sphere increased speed. She’s waving as though she knows we see her. She’s waving as if she is going on a trip, for god’s sake. Finn yanked Leeth’s sleeve. Why would Mother allow her sphere to get that close to the Black Hole?

Before he responded, the tiny orb disappeared into oblivion like a piece of dry tinder dropped in a flame.

Laying aside her need to share her glean with her Leeth, she spoke whispered as her fingers tightened on his arm. Leeth, do something. Please. We have to save her?

His eyes opened wide. Listen. Mother is . . . safe. This message from her just came through. I . . . I cannot tell if it is in real-time or . . . if she pre-recorded it for you.

Me? Why me? What did she say?

He shook his head and scratched the back of his neck. Only that we were not to worry about her and that we would meet soon. He kissed one of her hands . I’m sorry I interrupted you earlier. This seemed so urgent. He said nothing more for several moments, just gazed off into space, rubbing his chin.

Finally, his eyes settled on her face and as if coming out of a trance, he said, Your glean. How did it go? Tell me the story of your first experience gleaning. Please tell me more about it.

    Finna said nothing.

Damm, woman, that was impressive. And you did it all by yourself. I mean I don’t know of anyone who was ever capable of doing that. You’re freaking awesome. Astounding.

Great pivot Leeth. I’ve heard you use the pivot word. Did I use it right? Come to the beach with me, and I’ll let you off the hook. Fair enough?

He nodded and then stepped back saying, Go, get your feet wet. I’ll catch up. He waved his hand and vanished.
