Crushing on my Boss - Nicole Summer
Chapter 1 - Julie
Ester’s latest Facebook post really pisses me off. She looked so happy on her latest vacation. I’m happy for her. I really am. But why does she get to have it all: the perfect body, the perfect husband, the perfect life?
Wait, what am saying? It’s so fake. Her husband has cheated on her like a million times and she hates that new posting she transferred to in work.
She’s my best friend but I swear she updates her feed ten times a day for attention. I can just imagine her now, waiting for all the likes to come streaming in. Then she can feel better about herself while trying to ignore her scumbag of a husband eyeing up everything in a skirt. There’s no way I’m going to end up like Ester, I tell myself. Well, apart from her body. She looks so fucking good in that red two-piece bikini she’s got on.
My eyes scan up and down my own body in the mirror. I’m not impressed. I think about the copious amounts of wine and chocolate I’ve been stuffing my face with over the last few weeks. Well, what the hell did I expect would happen? I’ve clearly put on a few pounds; it’s so obvious.
I turn sideways. I shouldn’t have. I suck my belly in and try to clench my butt cheeks. But nothing moves. Shit, shit, shit.
I have to look away before I have a meltdown. And why the fuck am I thinking about that Hershey bar I know is in my fridge? Why am I even thinking of chocolate at six am? No, not this time Mr. Hersey. I bend down to tie my sneakers. This is on me and I’m going to fix it. No more excuses. I grab my brand-new gym membership card, ignoring the old me in the mirror.

I make it to the recently opened gym close to where I work. The parking lot already has a scattering of cars throughout. I’m guessing early morning gym sessions are a thing around here. I can’t back out now and take a deep breath, walking through the spinning doors, clutching my small gym bag underneath one arm.
Your members’ card, please,
a man three times my size says from behind reception.
I nod quickly, a little intimidated by the unnatural size of his arms. I imagine him snapping me in two if I don’t belong here. Oh, sure.
He scans it through a machine, checking my image that has popped up on his screen before handing it back. Looks like this is your first time. Well, go through there and to your right for the changing rooms.
I’ve already changed,
I laugh nervously.
He looks down at my zip-up sports jacket and black leggings that have
