Poetic Therapy

About this ebook
But through perseverance I have made it through the fire and came out blessed by God!
At a young age, I guess some would call it a gift, but I have always had the gift of poetry.
And thank God, he found something in me to be able to share with the world. And from some awesome minister’s in my life from the late Rev Wooten, Rev King, Bishop Andrew Ford and last but not least Pastor Niki Hampton and my BMF Pastor Mark Hampton I have been able to stay the course and maintain the spiritual foundation from some of the pastors mention above.
So now I would just like to share some of the poems and thoughts in this book with the world. I feel that poetry has helped me throughout my life with some things that should have had me laying on a leather couch talking to a doctor. But God is great, and he is my psychiatrist, and my writing helps me through when I need an outlet.
So, I hope that when reading this book, it might help you one day, and you can pass it on to someone. Some of the poems are just what I like to think are good reads but others I hope are therapy for others.
God Bless you and please pass on the words of encouragement in the book.
Thank You!

My Testimony
Isaiah 54, 7-10
"For a brief moment I abandoned you,
but with deep compassion I will bring you back.
⁸ In a surge of anger
I hid my face from you for a moment,
but with everlasting kindness
I will have compassion on you,"
says the LORD your Redeemer.
⁹ "To me this is like the days of Noah,
when I swore that the waters of Noah would never again cover the earth.
So now I have sworn not to be angry with you,
never to rebuke you again.
¹⁰ Though the mountains be shaken
and the hills be removed,
yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken
nor my covenant of peace be removed,"
says the LORD, who has compassion on you.
Break Up to Make Up.
So today I’m going to DJ for you. But before I start let me tell you about a time when I was in a night club in Philly and God spoke to me from the pulpit, I mean the DJ booth. Get it
you see when you DJ, the DJ booth is sort of like a pulpit. Your saying and doing things where the entire club is hinging on your every word. So, this particular night I was djing, and the club was packed. About 500 plus people in the club, and believe me when I tell you, I was good at my job, so if there were 500 in club, 300 were on the dance floor. Now at this time there was a song out by the rapper DMX and there was this particular verse that said, just because I love my niggas, I shed blood for my niggas. So, what I would do is play that verse and when it came to that part, I would cut the music down and say it acapella.
Then this one particular night I did it and said it, and God hit me like a Mike Tyson punch. God asked me; what blood have you shed? Look at all these people your leading to hell. You’re up there in that pulpit acting as if you’re some sort of savior. Stand down!
But! sex, money and Satan are a hard fight on a warm summer night. You see at this point and time in my life, I was commanding what I wanted to DJ all over the world. I’m djing at all the clubs, I’m djing parties for hustlers, big drug dealers, athletes and big clubs and at the same time I got a day job making good money. And did I mention I had a lovely family at home? But all that meant nothing, Satan had me on my on my own little pedestal. And the more money I made and the more women I would get just kept me blind, kept me acting a fool. But all the while I knew the wages of sin because I had aunt’s that taught and showed me the Lord and what was expected from me.
And every so often I would call them from all over the world. Korea, Japan, New York, Miami. So therefore, by the grace of God my spiritual foundation remained strong.
So, year after year I continued to live this so-called good life. (Did I tell you sometimes Satan won’t give you what you need, but sometimes he’ll give you what you want?) Yes! He will give and grant you things in your life to keep you away from God’s promise. After he gives you your false blessings and gets you comfortable, he can move on to someone more of a danger, like one of Gods saints. I used to always wonder why bad people have nice things and live better than me? When am I gonna catch a break? Then one day I finally figure it out. Satan will give people gifts, to keep them where they are. Satan is the opposite of God. God is not worried about the saints and Satan is not worried about the sinners. (think about it) It wasn’t until I read Proverbs 14:30, a tranquil heart gives life to the flesh, but envy makes the bones rot. So, there is no need for you nor I to be jealous of anyone.
Now before we go any further let me tell you a couple of things about me in-case you didn’t’ already know or you thought I had no obstacles in my life.
Just like you, I was born into a sin. But the environment in which I was born into made it a lil more complicated than most. I am the product of one of Ohio’s biggest drug dealers and pimps. (Buddy Williams) When I tell people that’s my father, they are speechless and wonder why I’m still alive or not in jail. And to make matters worse my mother was one of my father’s women. Sometimes they say wow, you look just like your father, and I tell them I should I was made in his image. think about
It takes them a second to get. And this story could go on and on, but to spare you the ugly details, let’s just say, Satan had his eyes on me from day one. And I did and saw thing that should have taken me out a long time ago. But I want you to know that Jesus death certificate was my birth certificate. There’s only two words that can explain it. But God!
