It is a pleasure in writing this book to acknowledge the cooperation of my artifact hunting teammates; Matt Batten, Don Gay, William L. Taylor, and Candi Nichols, who have shared the same drive for hunting artifacts as myself.

I also want to acknowledge Noël Marie Lehman who encouraged me to write this book. Lastly and so importantly, I also want to acknowledge my parents whom I love dearly.

    INTRODUCTION

This book is not intended to be an earth-shattering novel divulging the secrets of all treasure; it is simply an educational book entitled, Amelia Island Book of Secrets.

The island is rich in archaeological sites, and to date there are over 65 on record. Most archaeological sites do not translate into treasure. However, that being said, I will concentrate on some of the treasure sites (and one archaeological site) on Amelia Island located in Nassau County Florida.

The public assumes no treasure has been found on Amelia Island. Some believe there was never any treasure on the island; believe the author, they are wrong. I shall go into a brief history of Amelia Island and this will help the reader to understand where the island is located. Chapters 3-9 will concentrate on the details of treasure sites of Amelia Island.
