About this ebook
Audrey E. Simonson
Writing has been a hobby for most of her life, with poetry her favorite means of communication. She likes writing stories that adults will enjoy reading aloud to children. “To me, writing a story with rhyming verses means that I’ve found a voice that children and adults can read aloud…almost as if it were a song.”

Author’s Note
I started writing about the things I saw and heard while walking our country road. The oat field was first, then the birds trying to drive me away from their territory. Most were written in the 1990s and early 2000’s. Later, I thought about all the other roads in my life as I sorted my mother’s photos. Those essays have been written in the past year, 2020.
This book is not arranged chronologically. After the introduction of the places I’ve lived, the essays are arranged from late winter through summer to autumn – autumn in Iowa and the autumn of my life.
It has been a good life and God has blessed me with great family and friends. My hope is that you will look at nature and life about you and thank God for all He has created.
