About this ebook

The COVID-19 lockdown gave Le-Hoa an opportunity to slow
down, to explore the suburb's rich history, its magnificent homes
and mansions, its churches, its flora and wildlife and, of course, its
gardens. More than that it gave her the opportunity to learn
about the lives of the early settlers as they forged new lives in a
new world.
Le-Hoa has done this by researching, noticing, questioning,
wondering. Her thoughts are encapsulated in the poems she has
written on her walks in her beloved East Melbourne.

    Foreword design.psd

As a long- time resident of East Melbourne, I am passionate about the suburb’s gorgeous historical buildings, its exquisite gardens and its rich Melbourne heritage and history.

I want to share my feelings and sentiments for East Melbourne, telling the story inscribed through my poems about special places, icons and famous identities that shaped the suburb, which go unnoticeable.

With much love and sincere thanks to my fairy and best friend Mary Cawse for her
