    Christianity and capitalism have the same purpose.

    The purpose is to overcome selfishness.

    Christianity knows that is its purpose.

    Capitalism knows that is one of its results, but it does not exploit this. It should, because most people do not realize it.

    Christianity tries to overcome selfishness with brotherhood. We are all supposed to help one another because we love one another like brothers.

    In practice, Christianity only partly lived brotherhood. People have to look after themselves and their own. They put themselves and their families first.

    The problem of selfishness did not exist for the human race until the last 10,000 years.

    Human beings lived in small collectives for most of their existence. In a collective what was in the interest of one was in the interest of all.

    Agriculture changed this because with agriculture human beings lived together in larger numbers. They couldn’t only live together in larger numbers. They had to, because agriculture
