Each prayer was spoken and recorded by one of his seven children. “Letters to the Holy One” began in the days following the tragic loss of the author's son James on September 11th 2001. Reading them, we experience the spiritual journey of a father who in the face of unspeakable loss, remains faithful to God. Through the darkness, we are lifted by the light of 'Luce's" love for God and his total devotion to Christ’s Passion. His spiritual petitions were given while in deep contemplation of God’s Mystery. By reflecting on them, we too are able to encounter God through the eyes of a father who remains always faithful.

The author’s prayer blog originally started as a mockery of political situations. It quickly changed to become a spiritual journey. The spiritual journey took shape in the form of “Letters to the Holy One,” Jesus Christ. Now, ten years later, the Letters keep coming to the Holy One. They make everything worthwhile. The author, a Korean War veteran suffering the loss of a son, rose above the pain and suffering caused by the September 11th tragedy through many years of spoken letters. Deeply devoted to the Passion of Christ, Luce seeks to find peace through his letters.
