About The Author
Daddy, I love you for always holding me up to reach the stars. I appreciate your love and support.
Chapter 1
Just a little over two months ago. My friends and I stopped a warlock named Evander from taking over our world that we call Warrin. Everyone was happy and everything was peaceful. Until now, which sucks because of all this melodrama that is going on. I really don’t have time for this my Lifeday is tomorrow Damnit
Narrated Nimora in an annoyed tone
The night was pitch black. The skies was filled with clouds emitting rattling thunder and rain descending heavy to the ground.
At the Miccolt house
He’s out there isn’t he? Again?
Asked Rebecca
You know he is.
Said Vincent
All of this because of….Kimberly Travin. He needs to get over it and fast.
Said Rebecca
I sent Dyson to talk to him.
Said Vincent
At the hill top
Standing near the edge. Surrounded by twenty guards. Stood Matthew drenched by his own making. With his eyes gleaming Vibrant Violet as he looked out to the city down below.
Matthew!
Yelled Dyson as he approached
Matthew didn’t turn around
Nephew. Look at me.
Asked Dyson
Matthew turned around
I’m sorry. I’m sorry that your first crush was someone you couldn’t have. That you have to let her go. But being out here isn’t going to solve anything. I know, what it’s like to be in your position believe me. I can’t promise your feelings will go away. But I can promise that it will get better.
Explain Dyson
I can sense when she’s near. Uncle and I can feel that she’s in as much pain as I am. Because of the thunder and lightning she’s causing in the sky.
Said Matthew pointing to the sky above
I know you love her. But you have to stop this. We haven’t had a break from this thunderstorm for the past month and a half. You have to stop this Matthew.
Said Dyson
I refuse to be happy about this!
Yelled Matthew
I don’t blame you. But right now it’s late. Can you please come home?
Asked Dyson
Matthew turned to look back out to the view of the city. His eyes turned from the shade of violet to its normal Carmel brown. He turned and start to walk away with his uncle.
At the Travin family household
Essence came downstairs with a plate of food in her hand walking into the kitchen.
She isn’t hungry.
Said Essence with an annoyed tone
I wonder how long she’s going to be like this.
Asked Nathan
We will have to deal with it.
Said Lillian
What I don’t understand is? My sister, who has been crying on and off for a month and a half. Because she is not allowed to date someone because of a stupid rule that our ancestors made hundreds of years ago.
Said Essence irritated
That stupid rule was put in place so that none of the three royal family lines would never become one. It’s too dangerous.
Said Lillian
What are you talking about?
Asked Essence confused
Our Ancestors knew that because we will be close together as we grew up that romantic feelings might develop. Like for example. What if Kimberly and Matthew were allowed to be together. They would get married and have kids right?
Explained Lillian
Right.
Said Essence
So, then it’s not three royal lines anymore there’s two. Now what if Nimora’s child and Matthew and Kimberly’s child fall in love and get married. Then there’s now not two royal lines anymore there’s one. With every generation getting stronger and more powerful. Our ancestors believed that, what if in the future that there’s one descendant of ours that is the most powerful witch or warlock in charge. What if they become a tyrant or a dictator? No one would be able to stop them. So that rule was put in order to protect the future of all magic. That’s why even though it hurts to put Kimberly through this. I rather do this than the other resort.
Said Lillian
Other resort?
Asked Essence
By law both Kimberly and Matthew are to be put to death.
Said Nathan
Seriously?
Asked Essence in shock
Yes, that’s why we’re separating them to let them get over this.
Said Lillian
At the Swistun family home
The clock strikes 12:00 am
Nima was lying in bed when her room doors opened with the lights turning on. Nimora sat up in her bed and took off her eye mask.
In her room was her father holding a Unicorn hair cupcake (her favorite) in his hand along with Rozina, Braylin and the maids and butlers holding balloons.
Happy Life day to you, happy life day to you
We thank the three Goddesses for you
We thank the three Goddesses for you
Happy Life day to you
Sang everyone.
It’s June 13th. Happy Life day baby girl.
Said Lukein handing her the cupcake
Thanks daddy. But what are those two doing in my room.
Said Nima coldly
Those two are your future step mother and step brother. I thought it would be nice for them to join in on our tradition.
Said Lukein
How’s this for tradition.
Said Nima as her eyes flashed from dark brown to Emerald green.
Rozina and Braylin both dropped to the floor. The maids and butlers backed away slowly.
What did you do to them Nimora?
Asked Lukein as he went to check on them.
They’re taking a little nap.
Giggled Nima
Sighed sounded Lukein. Please take them to their beds please.
He asked the Butlers.
They did as they were told and they all left the room.
Nima, you can’t keep doing this to them. They are trying to get close to you. Why can’t you try as well?
Asked Lukein
I never asked for a step mother or her kid. You just sprung them on me and expect me to just be happy and go along with it. Which father isn’t going to happen? I don’t approve of you getting married and I refuse to be any part of it.
Declared Nima
I will give you time to adjust to this situation. But as long as I’m your father and you are my daughter. You will accept them into your life because you quite frankly don’t have a choice. Happy Life day.
Said Lukein before he got up and left the room.
In the state Kegan, city of Pele. In an underground basement of a metal extraction factory.
There was sounds of cheering going on. In the middle of the basement was a caged ring. Brian jabbed left, jabbed right. He missed. His opponent was two inches taller and stocker. He dodged his attacks and punched at Brian’s rib cage then his jaw. Landing those hits Brian buckled a bit. Then sent a upper cut from his right hook knocking his opponent back a bit. Brian went up to the man and landed punches repeatedly to the face until his opponent dropped to the ground.
1,2,3,4.
counted the people
Is he going to get back up?
The announcer asked the crowed
5,6,7.
Counted the people
I don’t think he is.
Said the Announcer
GET UP!
Yelled Brian
8,9,10.
Counted the people
The bell rung and Brian was announced the winner.
Back at home. Brian just walked in and shut the door. When the doorbell rang.
Please go away.
Said Brian
The doorbell rang again.
Please don’t make me open the door.
Begged Brian
The doorbell rang again
Brian closed his eyes and shook his head as he hesitated to open the door. Once he opens, there lies the bodies of one of his friend from the Warrin Wreckers and his relatives’ bodies lying piled up on each other. He looked up to see the Shadow standing there for a moment before vanishing into thin air. Brian just dropped to his knees.
The Next Morning at the Swistun house
Nima was heading downstairs.
Good morning Lady Swistun.
Said Lola the housemaid
Good morning Lola. What’s for breakfast?
Asked Nima
She making a mean ginger aid omelet.
Said Braylin
I didn’t ask you anything.
Said Nima
I know.
Said Braylin
Is my father home Lola?
Asked Nima
Nope, he and my mother went out.
Said Braylin
Again, I didn’t ask you.
Said Nima now irritated
I know.
Said Braylin cocking a smile
That’s it.
(Duratus) casted Nima as Braylin turned into ice.
I’ll be eating in my room Lola. Whip me up whatever you like.
Said Nima
Yes, Lady Swistun.
Said Lola
In her room
Have you two talked yet?
Asked Iris through the witches glass
No, I’ve been too pissed off to even think for the past two months.
Said Nima
Well girl you need to talk to him and find out what he knows.
Said Iris
Urgh, I don’t want to.
Said Nima
Sucked it up Lifeday girl.
Said Iris
Okay.
Said Nima
Knock,Knock sounded Nima’s Door
Come in.
said Nima
In came in Braylin holding a tray of food.
Seriously? Do you want me to freeze you into a Popsicle again?
Asked Nima
As fun as that sounds, I’m going to have to decline.
Said Braylin as he put the food down on her bed
Ok, get out.
Said Nima
Can you please let me finally explain myself?
Asked Braylin
Why should I?
Asked Nima
Because I owe you that much.
Said Braylin
Sigh sounded Nima. Go ahead.
Okay, my mom would come to Tien for work like two to three days out of a week. Of course, she dragged me here too. But only to be watched by my grandfather. I noticed you sometimes before Essence’s Lifeday party. You were always had your eyes locked on Matthew. I was curious about the Legacy kids. I developed a crush on you. Then my mother told me that she was dating Thee Lukein Swistun, she even told me that it was starting to get serious. I was curious to know who exactly his famous spoiled daughter was like. Imagine to my surprise that it was the same girl. I had a crush on. Who looked a bit lost and hurt in her eyes? So, I purely wanted to get to know you to see if we could become friends so it wouldn’t be too weird if our parents got married.
Explained Braylin
You do know in this story of yours. You seem like a complete stalker. I hope you do know that.
Said Nima sarcastically
You know that I’m not but that is why I had to stay away from you.
Said Braylin
I still don’t understand that part?
Questioned Nima
I started to like you. It wasn’t just an innocent crush because I thought you were beautiful. But I knew that I could fall for you. While knowing we couldn’t be together because of our parents. So, I pushed you away.
Said Braylin
Well, even though you stalked me, started to like me then pushed me away. I’m still mad at the fact that you made me think that I did something wrong. You could have just told me the truth.
Said Nima putting her hands on her hips
I know and I’m sorry for that.
Said Braylin
I’ll think about accepting your apology now get out of my room.
Said Nima
At the Travin house
Knock,Knock sounded Kimberly’s door
Kimelon I’m coming in.
said Essence as she opened the door
It was dark in Kimberly’s room. The shades were down, the lights were off.
The only thing that illuminated light was Kimberly’s witch’s glass that said Cassie.
Kimelon, I know you don’t know what day it is. But it’s Nima’s Lifeday and you know we have to go to her party.
Said Essence
Kimberly didn’t make no movements beneath the covers
C’mon Kimelon you know mom or dad is going to force you to go and I don’t want them to get pissed at me for defending you. So, can you just please go. For me?
Asked Essence
Will Matthew be there?
Asked Kimberly a bit muffled under the covers
You know he has to go as well as you.
Said Essence
Kimberly sat up and just looked at Essence with tears in her eyes.
Oh, Kimelon. I hate seeing you like this.
Said Essence as she hugged her sister.
At Miccolt House
In his bedroom, Matthew was standing at his window. Watching the rain continue to fall.
Matthew, your mother and I wanted to let you know that after Nimora’s party we are leaving for Addis city.
Said Vincent entering Matthew’s room
Why?
Asked Matthew
To tend to some business.
Said Vincent
How long are we staying?
Asked Matthew
For two months.
Said Rebecca
Two months?
Questioned Matthew slightly looking at his parents
Yes. So, start packing now.
Said Vincent
Don’t worry we will be back the day before your Lifeday.
Said Rebecca poking her head in Matthew’s room
Pearl Royal Ballroom
Nima entered the ballroom. Where her favorite color lilac purple in the form of a backless dress with silver earrings and bracelet. With her hair in romantic curls. She looked around at the decorations that filled the room of lilac purple and grey. The room was filled with her father, Rozina and Braylin along with friends. Screaming Happy Lifeday Nima. She was led up to the stage where there was a single thrown chair in the center. She took a seat.
Welcome everyone to my one and only daughter 16th Lifeday party. This is the last Lifeday I can still call her my baby girl. Because come next year will be her coronation. She will be seventeen and a legal adult. Boy how has the time flew by.
Said Lukein
Awwe Daddy.
Said Nima
Sorry, everybody. I got a bit carried away. Um, Let’s start the familiar ceremony.
Said Lukein
Everyone began to clap.
Ok, repeat after me. (Creatura-ego-voco-ad-me-sum-mea –anima-atque-praesul-presul) said Lukein
Nima repeat the spell and just few moments later a blast of wind blew through the room. In flew a creature that hovered above her. Nima looked up to see a Griffin flying over her. Covered in all white and has black as night colored wings.
(Consurge) casted Nima
Your Nimora Swistun right?
Asked the Griffin
Yes, I am.
Said Nima
Awesome to meet you. I’m Alya and when I heard your call I knew that someone as fabulous and powerful as you. Wanted a familiar, I just had to answer.
Said Alya happily
Nima smiled and said I love you already.
You better.
Said Alya
So how are you going to stay close?
Asked Nima
Oh, that’s easy. Do you like tattoos?
Asked Alya
I don’t know how I feel about that?
Said Nima
Watch this.
Said Alya as she flew into Nima’s back. In her backless dress you see two wings as tattoos appear on Nima’s shoulder blades.
Whoa.
Said Nima
Now I’m with you whenever you need me. Said Alya from Nima’s back.
Cool.
Said Nima
Ok everybody. The ceremony is over. DJ let the beat drop.
Said Lukein as the sound of music filled the room
Hey Nima.
Said Essence as she was heading up the stage
Hey Essence.
Said Nima
Welcome to the having a familiar club.
Said Essence
OMG! Is that a real thing?
Said Alya from Nima’s back
No, it isn’t. Giggled Nima
Aww.
Said Alya a bit disappointed.
So, how’s the hopeless romantics?
Asked Nima looking out to the crowed that you can clearly see Matthew and Kimberly being surround by body guards
They’re miserable.
Sighed Essence
I wish we could help them.
Said Nima
Since when did you get over Matthew?
Asked Essence
Oh, please I been got over him.
Said Nima
Was that around the time someone named Braylin came into the picture?
Asked Essence
Maybe? But unfortunately, he’s about to be my step brother. Yay.
Said Nima unenthusiastic
It’s ok. You’ll get over him.
Said Essence
What if I don’t want to?
Asked Nima
The two started to giggle
To the maiden in heaven we all have issues.
Said Essence before walking away
Nima looked through the crowd and saw Braylin dancing with a girl on the dance floor. She felt a twinge of jealousy.
So Nima went to the dance floor and grabbed a random guy and started to dance on him.
Wow. You’re really pretty.
Said the guy
Tell me something I don’t know.
Said Nima
Braylin looked up and saw Nima dancing seductively. So, he twirled the girl around and dipped her then brought her close to him and danced.
Nima looked at Braylin and glared at him.
He looked at her and glared back at Nima.
Do you know how to do lifts?
Asked Nima
Yes, I do actually. My mother told me that dancing could help me in life.
Said the guy
Just shut up and lift me up.
Said Nima
The guy did as she asked and lifted her up in the
