    T he

    engine of the Buick sedan, he had acquired last year in 1919, hummed when he pulled into the spacious forecourt of the estate he was going to stay in. The wheels crunched over pebbles when he came to a halt, slowly easing the car in between the other luxury vehicles. The car came to a stop in front of the estates fountain.

    He took a sip out of the water bottle, he had put into the glove box so neatly before his trip. Then he stowed it away and grabbed the door handle.

    While exiting the motorcar he adjusted the black overcoat that covered the navy 3 piece double breasted navy suit. He wore a white silk shirt with a turndown collar underneath, that was decorated with a light grey sailor knot tie. He inspected his polished Oxford shoes and sighed in relief when there was no dust on them.

    The man took off the bowler hat, brushed his hand through his dark blond hair and took off to the entrance of the Williams’ stately home.

    Through his glasses he surveyed the big property in front of him, taking in its windows, balconies and terraces. The thought that this might not be an unpleasant stay after all crossed his mind.

    He stepped back after ringing the doorbell, hearing small, firm steps stalk to the door and fumbling with the door lock.

    As soon as the door opened he smiled politely, greeting the woman wearing a grey maids uniform.

    Good evening Sir, she spoke. Is it correct that you are Mr. Raymond?

    The blond man nodded.

    Then please feel welcome to come in.

    Thank you, Ma’am, Mr. Raymond tipped his head, stepping inside and letting the maid take care of his coat. While lowering his hat he took in the massive hallway in with its marble floor
