    ME!

Hi! My name is Elizabeth Georgina Cartland-Price. My mum called me Elizabeth, after her great aunt who took care of her when her mum died. She was only 2 then. I got the name Georgina from my dad’s mum. I don’t mind because Nan Georgina is great. She’s the best cook. Whenever I go to hers, she bakes these varieties of fruit-cakes, um-m-m yummy. But the best thing is she knows how to treat me, like a teenager. She’s older than most of my friends’ grandmas but I think she has got the youngest heart.

Cartland is my mum’s maiden name and Price I got from my dad. Yes! Price. I’ve got the names that come with GREAT PRICE.

Younger folks always tease me; mainly boys. They sometimes call me Queen Elizabeth, especially when I try to do or say the right thing. My teacher Miss Woodland, who also has a funny name and some older people, I mean people in their 30s and 40s and ask if I’m related to Dame Barbara Cartland. Who is she? Is she ancient or what? Am I supposed to know her?

    I hear she was
