    INTRODUCTION

    I am sure classroom teachers or anyone who has tried teaching will agree with me that teaching is not an easy task. The many steps involved in the teaching process make the task difficult, steps such as knowing one’s students, developing lesson objectives, teaching to the objectives, assessing student learning, re-teaching to the objectives if necessary and more. One thought went into this guide: to improve education by way of helping teachers of all grades to become effective in the classroom. Whether you are an educator at the elementary, middle or high school level, a University professor, or planning to be a teacher, regardless of the subject you are teaching or are preparing to teach, you are challenged to serve as a key instrument in student achievement and therefore an instrument in the improvement of education. Learning, compared to acquisition, lasts a lifetime. With increased technology and rapid change, learning is imperative just to keep up with the 21st century and the new skills that come with it.
