About this ebook
Sigrid Carter
Sigrid was only nine years old when she wrote, produced, and marketed her first play in her native Germany. Since then, Sigrid has explored additional dreams and made them reality for herself. In her quest she has not only visited but also actually lived among many inspiring cultures around the world. With her open vision and female practicality she has combined two of her foremost desires: to see the world, while at the same time, learning foreign languages, her most important tool of communication with different cultures. Today she is fluent in German, English, French, and Spanish, languages she studied while playing such interesting and easy-to-come-by roles as chambermaid, salesgirl, waitress, tour guide, interpreter, and travel agent. In the United States she has worked from sea to shining sea—from Tiffany’s in New York City to Gumps in San Francisco. The avid skier supported her passion for the sport by waiting tables at the Red Onion in Aspen, Colorado, and through her work at Trapp Family Lodge in Vermont. For the past twenty years she has revisited the world as President Carter, of Envoye Travel, based in Lubbock, Texas. Just as unique as her life is the place where she met her Texan husband. The two crossed paths in the Amazon Basin, and it was love at first site for both of them: he, a young, movie-handsome biologist, conducting bat research in the rainforest, and she, an uninhibited enthusiast, swimming among piranhas on her 18 month hike from Colorado to the southern tip of South America, Tierra del Fuego. Sigrid’s unique adventures have made headlines in major newspapers and magazines around the world. In Peru her trek inspired the filming of a television movie. She, her husband, stray dog Lovy, and 2 subsequent pups (as well as numerous orphaned cats, raccoons, opossums, and waterfowl that can no longer fly) share what Sigrid refers to as “Kiwi Hospital.” The infirmary spreads up a short hillside that is topped by a simple adobe home, on the quiet shores of Lake Ransom Canyon, in the western United States.

DEDICATION
All Saints led pious and fascinating lives from which we can learn.
It is with deep devotion that on each day during the Christmas month I honor the Feast Day of a Saint
Why do we have Christmas Angels?
During pre Christian times, angels were people with mysterious powers.
T he angel appeared to Joseph in a dream, announcing: And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS.
Angels are messengers, especially of God. They are spiritual beings of celestial beauty and virtue, and our guardian spirits. Many people believe angels to be souls of deceased children, who have been accepted into he aven.
During the Middle Ages (5th to 14th century) angels comprised in orders of seraphs, cherubs, archangels and angels.
In the 17th Century, in Nürnberg, Germany, a doll-maker crafted a very special angel. The artist, a caring father had recently lost his beloved daughter. He grieved so much that one night his daughter appeared to him in a dream. Her long golden dress was pleated into a skirt and rustled like leaves during her gentle walk. She had two large beautiful wings that made her free as a bird and she smiled and told her father I am very happy where I am
. Her head was crowned with the special Gockelshaube
the traditional crown of Nürnberg.
The following morning, the father carved his daughter’s face out of wood and crafted her gown and large wings out of thin, golden metal, which, just like in his dream, sparked and rustled heavenly. He named the angel Anna after his precious daughter.
When his neighbors saw the beautiful angel they were in awe. Everyone wanted an Anna angel. The grieving father realized that through his angels his daughter’s memory could live far beyond any persons life and decided to spend the rest of his time on Earth crafting angels.
The following Christmas he showed his angels at the annual Kristkindel market so that every citizen of Nürnberg could enjoy an image of Anna in their home. From Nürnberg angels winged their way around the world, spreading their seeds. Today, angels decorate many homes and sparkle from Christmas trees during each Advent season.
What is Advent?
Advent - Adventus in Latin, defines coming
or arriving.
The coming of a major event! In the Christian sense the four weeks of Advent start on the fourth Sunday before Christmas Eve and are a time of preparation and anticipation of the great anniversary at the end. All during Advent we celebrate a number of lesser feasts, each one with its special traditions and customs. The Christmas Calendar focuses on one particular tradition for each Advent day celebrated by our ancestors.
