On one of these planets, the fight for all the existence will begin. A powerful entity called the Echo has landed on the planet. He and his dragons are bent on completing the ritual. Naredical and Naydalt must try to stop this force, but this is just the beginning of something far worse.
The tainted flesh of the good, will devour the living. The hands of the good, will build the temple of Oblivion. The chains of the slave will secure the fall of life.
CHAPTER 1
In a solar system far from any other, so far that starlight can’t reach, rests a blue giant sun and two large planets. On these planets, the struggle for life will begin and affect all of existence.
On the outskirts of a city that is home to thousands of humanoids, a humanoid is walking down the mountain ranges. Suddenly a part of the sky turns purple and a meteor strikes the ground near him. The crater emits purple smoke, and the fearless humanoid approaches and stares at the object and is taken by its power.
Several miles away, the great marble city of Naydalt is in celebration to its hero. The residents of the city feast and cheer for the entrance of Naydalt. Naydalt, one of the oldest humanoids on the planet, has emerged from the mines to partake in the celebration in his honor. Not only is Naydalt one of the oldest, but he is also arguably the strongest humanoid. The citizens are also celebrating the finished construction of their great city. Each building is a monolith, towering over the once empty surface of the land. They have yet to be used, and do not have a scratch on them—one can almost see their reflection in the fresh marble. At nearly all intersections there is a fountain bursting with liquid methane, creating a sort of white noise throughout the city. It was, Naydalt thought, beautiful, but certainly had more excess than the mines of Staycon, where the humanoids lived and where Naydalt is rising from to see the celebration in his honor.
The dedication of the city to Naydalt humbles him. Those in the city treat him like a god, but in his mind, he just takes action whenever the humanoids turn on their own kind. When the humanoids first started building the city with its grand columns and pristine walls, Naydalt protested, but there was no point. When Naydalt reaches the surface, he sees a large, white statue of him—he looks younger, he thinks. He looks up at the planet’s sky. It is forever cloudy, giving the planet a grayish tint, but sometimes blue patches will appear, giving way to spots of sunlight. Naydalt has fitted dark silver pants with shiny onyx boots. His torso is covered by a sleeveless, knee level trench coat that has numerous silver plated on it. His wrists and shoulder are protected by shiny onyx armor, when in combat he uses a armored hood for protection. Another humanoid interrupts his staring into the sky and greets him.
So how’s the celebration?
Naydalt asks.
Very well, this is in your honor
responds the other humanoid, Come to the palace, there is a feast prepared for you.
Good,
Naydalt says. He begins to look around for familiar faces in the crowd of those gathered in the city.
So you finally showed up, Naydalt!
A voice booms. ’Bout time!
Naydalt turns his head to his right to see a humanoid with green hair that falls just below his ears. To match his hair, green bands are strapped around his wrists—a stark contrast to Naydalt’s own black hair and bands.
Ah, Naredical. As if you were here only for me.
Naredical smiles and corkscrew flips over to Naydalt’s side and impacts hard enough to crack the brand new marble ground below them—all with a smirk on his face.
You know me,
Naredical says, I always got your back.
Yeah, right,
Naydalt says jokingly, crossing his arms. Naredical shrugs, and just when Naydalt is about to scold him, a female humanoid calls out for him. Naredical cracks a big smile at Naydalt.
There’s one of your followers!
Naredical says. Salima, the female humanoid, runs up to Naydalt, nearly stepping on his tail.
It’s about time you showed up,
she says, batting her blue eyes at him while her hair gently blows across her face.
Naydalt scratches the back of his head. Uh… um… well, I was busy training,
he says.
Salima moves closer to him. So have I,
she whispered in his ear. Naredical lowers his head and starts shaking it.
Suddenly, the gray clouds above them turn a dark purple. Everyone looks up. For minutes the whole crowd just stares at the clouds, until a purple comet comes through the thick layer of dark clouds with great speed.
Naydalt and Naredical share a knowing look, aware that if the comet impacts the planet it would certainly hurt all of them.
Naydalt turns to Naredical. Shall we?
They both take to the air, flying themselves towards the object. Within a meter of it, a purple electric streak strikes Naydalt directly in the chest and hurls him back to the surface. Naredical tries to stop to get Naydalt but is then also struck with a similar, but black streak of electricity that pulls him into the comet’s orbit. Like a planet around a star, he is flung around the object.
On the planet’s surface the crowd clears for Naydalt and he hits the ground with great force, gouging out a crater twenty meters wide and causing a minor quake that cracks some of the marble statues.
Naydalt!
Salima yells, running over to his smoking body. She kneels next to him. Are you okay?
Naydalt raises himself up on one hand and nods as he rubs his head. He looks up. The comet is about to impact the surface, and Naredical is flung in front of it just as it impacted the ground. As the comet hits, hundreds of humanoids near it are immediately
