    Learning Objectives:

    → Students will be able to add together two one-digit numbers

    Introduction:

    → Show students the diagram on slide two

    → Draw a before addition diagram on the board, illustrating two cars as one group, and a single car as another

    → Draw the corresponding after addition diagram next to it, showing both groups combined with three cars together

    → Ask students to count the cars before and after

    → Take responses from students

    → Reveal the correct answer, write the corresponding equation underneath the diagrams, and explain the process of addition

    → Students will be given an addition worksheet, and the class will do the first few problems together on the blackboard
