About this ebook

This book features a concept for walking the road of life, a background into the origin of life, a perspective on the function of energy, and an insight into the energy of life.

John is just a character through which to convey the concept of how to control ones existences while walking the road of life. He represents the six billion carbon life-forms on the third rock in this small galaxy that is the envelope of living materials of atoms and matter. These are presented in the form of Homo sapiens, the dominant species among the billions of species that reside on this rock.

This provides an explanation on the special energy that fuels the brain and provides it life-giving abilities. It is an insight into the scientific knowledge and intelligence that is needed to understand the existence of life as it started and progressed.

This offers some alternatives to the age-old beliefs that have dominated the social circles of existing, and it gives a method to control the hectic life into which the species has evolved. John lives in a world that just keeps increasing in the speed of existence necessary to survive. He is an example of the ability to change the route that has existed so long that it probably has become the norm instead of the exception. John is an example of the Homo sapien from the time of reproduction until the road of life is terminated and its lifes energy is transferred to be recycled for another generation.

    A CONCEPT OF LIFE

    Prologue

Millenniums and centuries have produced myths, folk stories, prophecies, fairy tales, and projected figments of imitation to explain the unknown. These explanations were passed down to be expanded and many eventually became the basis of religions around this rock. This can be good, but it can also have many downsides if one is put under stress to maintain it in line. One must decided what it truly wants in life not being mandated by outside influences.

In order to explain the origin of life, creative stories were devised. An example was Ancient Egypt’s accounts of creation. In the beginning, only the ocean existed. Ra, the sun, came out of an egg and appeared on the surface of the water. Ra brought four children, two of them became the atmosphere, and one the earth, and so the origin of life. The Mayas believed that world would be created and destroyed multiple times. The current universe began in thirty one hundred fourteen BC and would be destroyed in the year of twenty twelve. The earth was the back of a giant caiman floating in a pool. The flat portion was life with four-corners.

The people that were put in charge of keeping beliefs going through the generations devised new tactics to keep the masses in line. Most believed in an after life, and many painted terrible pictures of the existence in this after life just to keep control.

As time passed beliefs were changed to fit the requirements to maintain the masses in line. Rituals were devised for worship to keep the memories of the beliefs current. Great monuments were built to give a visual picture to encourage the beliefs. Groups that were not happy with the way the beliefs were being presented would branch off, and new sects would start.

A great deal of the beliefs that have survived over the years going back to ancients have been brought forward as relics to keep alive those needs to maintain control over the masses. What is good for one is not good for another, so one should shop around to find what best fits one’s lifestyle and give freedom for the walk on the road of life.

Science is progressing at an exponential rate and is opening windows into the origin of life going back billions of years. This knowledge being presented to the masses is starting to impact the old beliefs held by most established organizations. These organizations in order to survive are starting to change their outlook on just what religion consists of to maintain their masses in the establishment. This is now called the new age of religion. There are still major conflicts between religious beliefs and what science is finding about the factual existence of the origin of life and the make up of this rock in the universe of the cosmos. This can be a major hang-up as one travels on his road of life.

Eleven dimensions of existence, one being that of time, have not been proved but fit the explanation of new models of mathematics of the new age cosmologists. Albert started the evolution. Many have stepped forward since to carry on the revolution of present day thinking. There are many scientific endeavors and theories that have not been proven but more and more are becoming facts of reality. How these discoveries will impact beliefs of the masses in the future are still being played out.

Knowledge is being presented at an astonishing rate. Can the mind keep all the information organized and be able to store it? As knowledge is present, the intelligent level increases right along with it. In this fast moving drama there has to be a way to maintain control of the everyday existence of life.

Life’s energy gives one the ability to exist for the duration of that life cycle. The universe of all things has a life cycle and is controlled by the nature of the cosmos. To understand the basics of life is a must in order to control the walk on the road of life that exists from the birth to its demise. Is life’s energy passed on to be recycled or to be dispersed in another form of energy? This is the individual’s responsibility to decide what it wishes to believe and how to maintain the order of its life cycle.

If life’s energy provides this dominant species, the ability to function is a special energy. It does not make sense that nature would not provide a method to conserve it and the intelligence that it possesses to be reused by the following generations. This would be nature’s method of pushing evolution up the ladder of advancement. This writing is an attempt to provide a method to be considered as the carbon life form walks its road of life to control its ability to function in its envelope.

In today’s stressful existence, just to think there is a way one can improve the road of life for the better is a comfort. The concept that access to the conscious, and maybe even the subconscious mind, is through windows that offer control over what one thinks and does. How one handles emotions day to day can be a major improvement. From the beginning of one’s reproduction until the end of the road of life, existence is controlled by the events and occurrences of the routine around us. By nature, man allows himself to be integrated into the norm, even though the norm is usually emotionally draining and stressful. The existing society seems to have migrated to highlighting the bad and disregarding the good. It seems that everyone wants to live on the emotions of stressful events.

In order to change the level of consciousness in which one functions one has to understand the origin of everything and the building blocks of structure or enclosure in which one resides. Without accepting the true facts of the beginning and the evolution that progress over the billions of earth years, one will always have hang-ups that will be hard to overcome. Rid yourself of all social beliefs that have been devised to keep the masses in control. Cleanse life’s energy that has been stored in memory of the past, unwanted events and occurrences that drag the good life down, and bring forward to be used the good events and occurrences in the place of thoughts. Add only those occurrences and events that strengthen the good, and reject those that are bad and will contaminate the good.

If one practices the concept, one will begin to see much more joy and happiness in the dominant emotions controlling the walk of life. There is a time and place for everything. One must simply choose.

    Chapter One

    REMEMBERING

The man stood looking out the bay window. For simplicity, his name will be John. It could just as well have been other names. He was along in years. His weathered face showed the lines of life’s experiences accumulated through the years. His hair was thin and graying along the temples. He stood with a slight slump of the shoulders; twenty years ago, he would have stood tall and straight. His dull blue eyes staring into the distance showed years of wisdom. Deep within, there was happiness and sadness generated by the flood of memories. He now manages to close out the sadness and all the other memories that drag the emotions of life down, and he only has memories of the good, the flood of memories one accumulates in the conscious mind over the many years of the road of life. At times like this, these memories start to be retrieved. Then one has to sort the bad memories away from the rest and send them to seldom-used areas of the brain and train one’s self not to retrieve these memories.

These memories all were dealing with the road of life. It seems that one loses concept of life with the frantic pace it sets for its self in the early years. Almost no one thinks about where the road of life will eventually take one across the years. There is always something new to do and somewhere else to go. It takes many events and occurrences to make one finally realize there is more to life than just getting up in the morning and meeting all the requirements set out for that day in order to make ends meet. With maturity, there come more responsibilities one needs to accept. This seems to be in the genes passed along from the last generation. Nature says go and reproduce to maintain life’s evolution and the survival of the species. John felt that he had been very fortunate, a great education, a great family while it lasted, and the ability to have a higher standard of living. He had met all the goals he had set for himself in the early years of the road of life.

He now had time to think about many things. Looking out that window his mind drifts off to think, Who am I and where did I come from? There had been many scientific studies that had taught him the basic fundamentals of the structure of living energy that makes up the universe. The study of quantum physics opened up a totally new outlook on how the basic building blocks of life are constructed. Just think the study of quantum physics is in its infant stage as compared to many other sciences. Where will it eventually take the learning curve? The years of being exposed to many strange events with his education and work gave him many things to dwell on. He had been thinking it is time to give back to life some of the many facts that had been accumulated in his memory banks. Data had been stored there to be retrieved and could be used to help others understand the meaning of life’s cycle. It is now his responsibility to devise a method to make this knowledge available to others. What good is it to deduce the greatest insights, if there is no one with whom to share them? There are so many things in life that are taken for granted, just because someone said that is the way it is. So many times people bend the truths just to fit their beliefs or needs. Many times theories are put forth just to keep people in line to have them follow given doctrines. The masses, believing the same beliefs and doctrines, have greater power and resources. This has been true for many centuries and not many have stepped forward to challenge the untruths. The few that did stand up to challenge the doctrines set forth at the time were many times defamed, tortured, and sometimes killed. The present times bring forth many to step up and challenge the old and put forth new theories. John may be one of these. He probably hadn’t realized it yet, but he was on the verge of making a huge contribution to the knowledge of the make up of all living things in the universe. How could he, one small entity, a carbon life form placed on this third rock rotating around a small star in a small galaxy, one among billions, possibly make a difference? Had he chosen himself to perform the impossible task in this vast complex envelope?

He had been exposed to many new and unbelievable findings over the years as part of the work in which he had been involved. All the work he had been associated with was classified and labeled TOP-SECERT Red. The scientific community, working under the control of the government, had unlimited funds for research. The cold war was heating up and there was so much fear that the Soviet Union was going to get ahead in technology that boundaries were pushed to the limit and several times beyond. The intelligence learned in just a few years was so far ahead the level of the last hundred years that it was scary. It was unbelievable what was on the drawing board as classified as weapons. The knowledge level achieved by research was so far ahead of anything NASA had developed, unless it was needed, that it would probably be fifty years or longer before some of it would be exposed to the world. John was probably still being watched by security forces to make sure that he did not talk to the wrong people. It was very difficult for John to come back to the normal life after he retired. It surely cost him very dearly in not spending enough time with his family. He now had time to reflect and see where he left the normal road of life and traveled down different paths from other normal people. At the time, they seemed the perfect way to go. It seemed to him at that time that there was no other way, and he had been called to follow these paths. These paths are now showing up saying, What if? What if I had done this differently or done that differently? What can one do now to try and make up for the mistakes made? It is certain that he can, and did, change to improve his life’s road. Maybe he could do something to improve other people’s lives and help them not to make the mistakes he made. Why are all these windows opening to his memories now, opening for retrieval to be dealt with at this late date in life? Back to the window, could this be the window that would show him the insight to what he is now searching for?

To the left of the back yard and into the distance, there is a large stand of trees, which he knew was mostly pines. For so many years, he had taken great care to keep the area clear of undergrowth. The area is now grown up with undergrowth. Spread throughout the pines, there were now young oaks, hickory, sweetgum, and a sprinkling of cottonwood. He could no longer take care of the area he so dearly loved. The undergrowth now gives much better cover for the many small animals that live there. If left alone, nature takes control and life continues on without help from the highest species on this old rock.

To the right of the back yard and running along the property line, there was a wet water pond. How he enjoyed spending the afternoons fishing and watching the ducks eat when he did set aside a small amount of time for himself. At one time, the catfish were plentiful, and were delicious, when battered and fried. Several years’ back there was a prolonged drought and most of the water dried up.

He did not know if any of the catfish survived, when the pond refilled after the rains returned. The area around the pond is grown up with weeds and water plants. The water is green from algae, which had been growing for many years. Is this similar to where life started four and one half billion years ago or did life come from the cosmos to struggle and begin evolution on this rock?

The house he had lived in for so long was now silent. He was the only one left to ramble through rooms and remember their use. He had always been proud of this house he had worked so long to build. He was thinking that maybe he should sell it. But, he dearly loves it, even if it did have some bad memories. Simply closing these memories out and never retrieving them again will improve the stay. Memories, so many good memories how could he possible sell it? From room to room, he could roam; from memory to memory, he could flash. It was almost like reliving of the events and occurrences. Very strange that this should start to happen. What took place to unravel thoughts to provoke such memories to be retrieved? Maybe he just crosses over the threshold of awareness and woke up from a long journey along a bent road of life. Life, what is life? Most never stop to think just what life is. Most never give life its due credit, struggling to survive, struggling to be repeated so that the species can continue up the ladder of evolution.

Life’s cycle is such a short time in the total concept of time. He thought back; it was not that long ago that he finished college, and moved on to his first job. He had worked in the Los Alamos National Laboratory for three years, but he had a hard time settling in this harsh environment. This research facility in Los Alamos, New Mexico, was where the first atomic and hydrogen bombs were developed. The laboratory is funded by the United States Department of Energy and is operated by the University of California. For so many years, the laboratory was devoted solely to weapons development. In recent years, it has broadened its research to high-speed computing, advanced materials, lasers, environmental technologies, space sensors and other fields. His work career started in the department of advanced materials that would be used in development of nuclear weapons, and it was a wonderful field to work in. While he worked at the laboratory, he continued his studies at the University of California to add to his doctorate in nuclear science and engineering. He had completed all this education, and now it was time to start to put it to work. How would he do? Was it possible he could live up to the expectations that others felt his potential would eventually produce?

Oak Ridge, central Tennessee, is located on Black Oak Ridge near Knoxville. It is a leading center for research and production in the fields of nuclear energy and environmental management. The major facilities located at this high tech research center include the Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Oak Ridge Y-12 Plant, and Oak Ridge K-25 Plant. Among the important manufactured products located at this facility are electronic equipment and scientific instruments. Close by, is the Oak Ridge Associated Universities, a research and educational center run jointly by some forty universities and colleges. The complex was founded in nineteen hundred and forty two by the U.S. government as part of the secret Manhattan Project to develop an atomic bomb.

He was then on his way to this place for an interview for a new job; a wonderful and interesting job. This is when he had first seen the land. How beautiful it was. He could just picture the many things that could be accomplished if one owned land like this. A for sale sign was tacked up on a tree by the road; it appeared old and rain beaten. He wondered if there could be some reason it was still there. Could it be that it was too expensive? Could it be that it had been sold? Why is it that all the bad is thought of first? I guess this is human nature, expecting the worst. He would have to wait to see if he would land the new job. This place would not be a far commute to and from work. At least it was in the country and there should not be too much traffic. Oh, well, the way things have been going there is no telling what the future holds. In ten years, it may well take two hours to go to and from work. Look at that, I am already dreaming. John had never been one to wander off in dreams, but this time it seemed to be something special that was occurring. He had never been one for building things, even though he did help build a nuclear submarine once. Well he did not exactly help build it, but did help in the testing and preparing it for sea. One could say that was helping to build it if you look at it from keel to going to sea. Fantastic machine.

He remembers stopping at the real estate office listed on the sign to inquire. Yes! I think it is still for sale, but the girl could not remember by whom, or many details about it. He thought she was a pretty young thing. I wonder. Her hair was long and fell down her back in waves. You will have to wait for Mr. King to return. And she smells good too. He should be back any time now. Wonder if she has a boyfriend? Ten minutes passed and a middle-aged man came through the door talking to himself. He was sweating and rubbing his forehead with a red bandanna. He stopped and looked at John, Could I help you sir?

John looked into his pale green eyes and said, Yes sir. I would like to inquire about the land for sale. John then gives him a location. He looked at John and said, You know, I don’t remember. Give me a few minutes. Then he turns and goes into his office.

John could hear filing drawers opening and shutting. About five minutes go by and the man returns with a folder in his hand. I no longer have that property listed, but I can give you the owner’s name and where he can be located. I’m not sure he if still lives there or if the tract is still for sale or if he is still alive at all. The man turns and reaches for paper, he writes down a name, phone number and address. He turns and looks at John, saying, I wish you luck. He then turns and goes into his office and shuts the door.

John stops as he gets ready to leave, shows the girl the paper, and asks if she knows where this is located. She is not wearing a ring. She looks at the piece of paper for a minute, and then goes into a long explanation of how to get to the address on the paper. John thanks the girl and leaves. He drives back to where the sign was located, and then continues about twenty more miles further down the road. He was looking at the beautiful trees and wild life as he drove, thinking how wonderful it would be to live out among nature. He had always had a strong place in his make-up for wild things. There on the left was a deer and a small fawn crossing the road. John wonders just how many deer could be living in the large wooded area. There were miles that had nothing but trees and more trees. The land looked like it may have been farmed at one time, but now had been turned out to grow timber. You could see ridge rows that look like little mounds of earth that would run back into the trees. These were plowed up to prevent erosion in the farming days.

John slowed as he went around a sharp bend; there on the left of the road, just as the girl had described, was the old plantation house. It was quite run down. But in its day, it must have been quite a looker. The outside walls were covered with clapboards of yellow pine that were probably over a hundred years old. The paint had weathered away and the wood was now mostly gray. John pulls in the long driveway to the house. The driveway was made up of field rock that was flat on the top and had been laid end to end and gravel poured in between. Along the edge there were still flowerbeds that had not been tended for some years, but had some flowers still growing. Funny thing about nature’s will to survive. Back twenty feet or so from the driveway were rows of old red oak trees on either side. These oak trees were probably as old as the house, but still standing tall and strong. He could see that there had not been much upkeep done for some time. He parks in front of the steps up to the stone walkway to the porch. On the front porch, there stood huge colonial plantation posts. The tops looked like they may have been hand carved and were at one time painted white. In the days of slavery, there were black men that were very skilled in carving wood, and they did this kind of work from house to house. Up under the roof at the walls were hand carved lattice wood that still looked as good as the day it was installed. As he walks to the front door, he thinks, how wonderful it would be to have a house such as this, when it was in its prime. John stops for a minute and looks at the door and its stained glass. These stained glass doors was probably imported and came through the port of Savannah, Georgia. How beautiful it must have been when it was new. He knocks on the door and waits. Several minutes go by; John knocks again. He could hear movement inside and steps approaching the door. The door swings open with a screeching sound. There, standing in his overalls, was a man who must have been in his nineties.

How do you do, he said, giving John the once over. Can I help you?

Yes, Sir, John said. I have come to inquire about the land for sale back up the road. The man, at the real estate office, gave me your name and location.

That no good SOB, the man said, kind of under his breath. He had it on the market for over four years and never sold it. I guess I showed him. Now what did you have in mind young man?"

Well sir, I might be interested in purchasing that tract of land if it is reasonable. I would like to walk over the land if possible.

The old man looked at John, squinted, his wrinkled eyes, paused, then said, Walk all you want to.

He then commenced giving John a description of the plot of land. He pauses as he describes sixty acres of the best land in this county. After some more conversation, John turns to leave, saying to the old man that he will return to tell him what he decides. John was thinking as he walked away that there was no mention of price.

John climbs into his car and returns to the location of the sign. He gets out of his car and looks around. The land was part of a farm at one time, but it had been turned out some years ago.

It will take lots of work, but this place is perfect, he thinks. If the price is right and I can borrow the money, I have got to have this place. It takes about two weeks, but John manages to do the deal. Yea! Yea!

It took ten years to finally finish the construction on his house. How proud he was of the work he had been able to contribute to the project. The work was slow going because his wife had moved into it well before it was completed, and she still smelled good. Of course, he had to spend many hours working at his regular job, many more than he now knows he should have. Life is very strange when one looks back.

He only uses four of the twelve rooms in the house, the kitchen, bathroom, and master bedroom and, of course, the library. The library was his pride and joy. There must be at least three thousand books in this library, books on just about any subject one would wish to research. The section on science was well above normal. Against one wall was a huge oak desk with carved shelves in the back to hold letters and such. The desk looked very old but still shown from the stain and finisher. John had bought it at an auction where all the household goods were being sold when the last member of a family had died. Fitted in the middle was a large screen terminal and keyboard with an old mouse. Sitting on the floor on one side there was John’s computer that he had purchased a couple of years ago. This computer probably had more computing power than was on board the space shuttle. Bookshelves ran all along the wall on both sides and above the desk, books and more books that had been accumulated over the years. There were so many that he probably didn’t remember where they all came from. Some were for research, some just for pleasure reading, and if the truth were known, some that he probably shouldn’t even have. They beckon to John, come, come on, and research those questions you have accumulated over the years. All the answers are here waiting for you. Deep within John’s mind, he knew that he was going to
