Acknowledgement
This is my fourth book of epic poems. This book’s characters, historical events and geographical locations are fictitious; they may be parallel to reality, whereas they are not of reality, itself.
I am grateful for many places that I have been, and the many souls I have met.
These poems came to me at their chosen moments, and I celebrated their birth with the following kindred spirits: Suzan Barnes, Christa Richardson, Kirk Firestone, Dr. Nickleby Bashö, and Joyce, Neslihan and Kurt Mavioglu.
From Spokane to the Lake Pend Oreille
Ivana told her husband, Emil,
That today we were to visit with Konyas.
However, last night’s torrential rain may
Have washed out a segment of the dirt road.
Since Konyas have no phone in their beach house,
I can’t find out what actually has happened.
I’m not making a big deal out of this,
Yet it’s not an easy task to cancel
A visit with them and reschedule it.
Konyas’ lifestyle is not flexible.
They travel and live in many countries.
I wonder how they could find new places
To visit, for they’ve already seen many
Places on this planet Earth, exotic or not.
As a result of their past
