About this ebook

Most people during their lifetime experience some contact with the spirit world. Their reactions can vary from laughing off such nonsense as coincidence to praying for the demon to leave them alone. But what would you do if a ghost wanted to be your friend?
In this, the authors first book dealing with the spirit realm, she relates the true story of Norman, a ghost who has returned to become her spirit guide, protector, and friend. The story follows the first few years of their friendship and explains how the author uses her extensive experience with genealogy research as a way to prove and validate that Norman the Ghost actually existed as a real person.
She successfully searches out the details of his life using clues that he gives her in their psychic communications. Along the way, they both learn some very valuable life lessons as they come to realize the reasons they are together in their current incarnations as well as the fact that they have been together in past lives.
In the second part of the book, the author discovers one of those past lives when she and Norman were together as siblings. Once again, using her gifts in accessing the spirit realm and the Akashic Records, the author goes back with Norman to this past life in medieval Germany. Using the messages and information they receive in multiple visits back to this life, the author uses her research skills and techniques to find validation of multiple facets of their life together during that time.

Susan E. Rogers

Susan Rogers (also known as Lady Airmid in the psychic community) has been actively sharing her psychic gift with others for the past several years. Although aware of her abilities from early childhood, it was only years later, after thoughtful meditation and attunement, that she received the spiritual direction and guidance that she should offer her healing and inspirational abilities to the world. Retired from a lifetime career helping others as a Social Worker, Susan has transferred her healing and counseling skills to this next phase of her life. She is proficient in mediumship and divination, and uses her gifts with methods such as Tarot, Tea Leaves and Akashic Records readings to provide guidance and inspiration to her clients. She holds certifications as Reiki Master and as Herbalist, as well as basic and advanced Aromatherapy and Crystal Energy Healing. Susan has always had a special ability with past life readings and ancestor spirit guides. She has extensive experience with genealogy research, including writing and editing family-specific books and articles. It seems the natural next step, therefore, that she is now merging over 37 years of ancestor searching skills with her psychic abilities. Her ability to communicate with Spirits, in tandem with her genealogical methods and resources, can assist others to find and work with Ancestor Spirit Guides, resolve issues rooted in past lives and provide reaffirmation of other Spirits and Guides. Susan lives in Southeastern Massachusetts with her partner. Together they enjoy music, travel, friends and just having fun in each others company.

    INTRODUCTION

This is the true story of my contact with my friend Norman, who just happens to be a Ghost.

The Oxford Dictionary defines Ghost as an apparition of a dead person that is believed to appear or become manifest to the living, typically as a nebulous image. It defines Spirit as the nonphysical part of a person regarded as a person's true self and as capable of surviving physical death or separation. I think of Norman as a combination of these two concepts, an actual being in energy form that encompasses his soul essence, and who can think, communicate and act in the same ways I can. When I refer to him as a Spirit, this is what I have in mind.

No matter which word you choose to use, Norman is still Norman.

After many months of getting to know each other, Norman and I decided that I should try to prove that he really existed and was not just a figment of my perhaps overactive imagination. I have researched my family genealogy for over 35 years, and I could use that experience and skill to find proof that Norman had actually lived and was the person he described to me in his psychic messages. Then, another revelation – Norman and I had been together in other past lives before this one. I had to find out about those as well.

It has been an interesting journey with my friend Norman, filled with surprises and a few lessons. I think he had the idea of me writing this book all along, though he didn’t suggest that until much later. We are not done yet. There is much more to learn about his life, and about the past lives we may have spent together.

I spent a considerable amount of time searching and researching the pieces of information I had about Norman and our past lives together. Throughout this story, I will include as many references to documents and primary sources and specific verifiable facts as I can. I have related Norman’s story to a few close friends and spiritual associates who have accepted it as valid and have encouraged me to proceed. Of course, some think of me as rather eccentric anyway, and give me the nod with a wink.

If you are a skeptic, a scoffer or a non-believer, there is probably nothing I can say that will convince you that Norman’s story and my part in it is not contrived. My hope is that you will read our story with an open mind and a trust that my statements are true, that I allowed Norman to tell me his story first. It was only after receiving information from him that I attempted to validate it. The same is true of our past life, as I received the messages first and only then went on to attempt to prove it.

If you are a believer, and willingly understand and accept that all things are possible in this Universe, then there is no need for me to convince you. I appreciate that your trust is inherently in place and I hope that the lessons I have learned will be of some value to you on your own journey.

Either way, the story will be told!

    PART ONE

    NORMAN

    CHAPTER 1

    INTRODUCTION TO ME

I was 31 years old when I saw my first ghost. At least that is the first time I completely remember the incident. I always knew I had some kind of sight but I never questioned it – it was just part of who I was.

I was raised Irish Catholic, which offers far more than I want to discuss here. Let me just say that, as a child, I made my First Holy Communion and my Confirmation without a thought. In my teens, though, I started to question and began to understand that I was something different. Much different! It was at that point that I started to develop my own spiritual belief system. I went to a Catholic college, run by Franciscan friars, but only because it was a very good school that offered me a very good scholarship. Ironically, it was the good fathers who set me on the path to defining my true spirituality. The curriculum required four semesters of a course called Western Civilization. It was this course – a comparative study of art, literature, social culture, history and religion (with a heavy emphasis on Judaism and Christianity) from the earliest ancient cultures to present – that gave me the basis for seeking my own path.

My son was born while I was in college. Despite my own misgivings since I hadn’t discovered my own true path yet, I decided to give him a religious foundation in something so he could make an informed choice when he was older. So, he too was raised Irish Catholic, and my goal was to get him through his Confirmation. I tried never to influence his beliefs, as I was still trying to figure out my own, but as time went on, we both knew that once that milestone was accomplished, he was on his own to make choices that felt right to him.

I continued to study, search and seek as much spiritual knowledge as I could. None of the major or minor established religions called to me at all. I just continued to practice my spirituality in my own way.

My husband became more and more uncomfortable with me and my beliefs as I progressed along my spiritual path. Things happened and he was scared. He was also raised as Catholic, and, although he was non-practicing, he was also non-questioning. Of course, that didn’t stop me. I couldn’t stop at that point. In the end, I think he actually believed I conjured demons to torment him – including a wooden nutcracker figure whose eyes, he insisted, followed him and watched his every move.

It was true that things happened but they were neither harmful nor demonic. Rather, there were spirits who were introducing themselves to me and me to their realm, as I
